Kirby's Dream Land 2 is already done. It's listed under SGB on the GB/GBC/SGB page.
This is what I get for ignoring a small section. Edit: I realize why I didn't remember it existed, an archive.org encode never actually existed itself, and I guess I never bothered with the movie file. Oh well.

Seriously, though, back to the point of this forum, does Power Bounce have any limit whatsoever?
I don't think it does, and even if it did it's not like going beyond it is necessary; It's very easy to slaughter even Bowser's massive HP pool in only a few bounces with the right badges.

I used star bits at first because someone else in this thread used them. Mid-post I corrected myself to Star Pieces but never fixed my earlier mistake, excuse me!

I'm somewhat disappointed that with the decent amount of Sonic SMS/GG TAS movies out there, Triple Trouble remains untouched and disregarded. Admittedly, it lacks an SMS port... Still though, it's among the most entertaining 8-bit Sonic games and a 100% run of this could be very, very amusing as the temple special stages have tons of interesting and extremely difficult tricks waiting to be thoroughly abused by a TAS.

Honestly? If this run gets accepted, I see no reason why a run of Sonic 1 with Spindash capabilities hacked in couldn't be accepted. It'd probably use similar strategies to the other hacks of Sonic 1, but without the useful ability to Super-Mario-World-Cape-Gimp the majority of levels. If this gets accepted, I say that someone should attempt that next. That said, as my actual opinion on this, I'm really not sure...I haven't watched it yet, but the idea both intrigues and disturbs me. I really don't know how it'll work. I'll probably wait for an encode first.

I myself would actually like to see all the You vs Boo levels get a TAS, but challenge mode is fine too. As far as 100% goes, you could always just call all the medals/pictures that don't require linking and go for some sort of consolation category, such as "all single cart medals/pictures"...

I seriously do not believe a movie will sync at all between (J) and the translation patch, especially given the amount of absurd software lag around the name entry screen. (Unless this was fixed) Given the highly professional style of the translation however, I myself would still allow it, even under strict rules, because the patch is just so very well made. Subbing a gigantic movie can't be all that easy either, so this eliminates a lot of extra work. As for the TAS itself, I would most definitely love to see a published run here. We have Earthbound Zero and Earthbound, so why not? While we don't have an officially translated port like Zero, it's still a part of the series nonetheless and both enjoy healthy popularity.

All the glitches and such used in the posted WIP made me realize just how different Squeak Squad is from it's predecessors, despite looking the same. I definitely look forward to this run, as it looks like it'll be very impressive among the rest of the Kirby series runs, even Super Star. I can imagine a 100% being viable too, since getting all the treasure really isn't very hard and doesn't take up too much time.

I think at best a 100% run involving collecting all the star bits alone would be justification enough. Sure, you could get to max level easy enough, but is it really required? You could certainly overkill with that much BP, possibly slaughtering Bowser in a quick hurry, but I think it might be more impressive doing that without such an abundance of badge equipping power. A lot of Star Pieces are actually very well hidden and getting all of them in interesting ways can spice up the movie a bit, though that would be hilariously difficult given the style of the overworld, possibly. Either way, this TAS? I would watch it. Possibly masturbate to it too.

This needs much more Kirby 64. Although it isn't emulated quite perfectly yet and can be slow at times, it has massive potential like many other Kirby games, particularly in the ability combining aspect, though a lot of them can still be slow. Many stages and bosses are just impressive though and can be made to look even better when you break them in interesting ways.

You have my support! There's so very little actual runs out there on the internet in whole that 100% Yoshi's Island for the most part, unless I haven't been searching hard enough. Keep trying and hopefully this will be a very worthy addition to the site.

Some rounding out of the Kirby games in the TAS list needs to be done, where it has everything barring Kirby's Dream Land 2, 3 and 64. I don't know if 64 will be done anytime soon, as much as I'd love to see it, but at the very least I'd say 3 and 2 need to be done already. A lot of general tips I could give anyone here has already been said more then likely, including the awesome Kine trick in 2-5. SDA actually has a fairly optimized route of this game, but it contains a lot of backtracking to get an important ability needed for the next level; the greater you can cut back on this the much better the final time will be, though for some levels you simply can't avoid it. (The level requiring Nago is a good example, where he's too slow in the previous level)

I've been following Dainegai for a really long while now, but I remember at one point he went and said "I quit" and stopped TASing SMW hacks. I can't exactly remember why though. That said, I really do doubt that these guys aren't really aware of this site, as they definitely exhibit some incredible usage of even fairly new tricks discovered in the games they play. It's possible, but this site is still the number one definitive resource for TASing tricks; it would be very likely they at least studied here and made some sort of vague thought about joining the forums.

I can't really say I have the time or patience to try TASing myself, as when I attempted it on a Pokemon game (a really bad first choice, I know) I really didn't have much fun with it and took practically forever to get just a few minutes into the game. But as far as watching, I'm definitely an avid fan. I've been watching this site for about five years now and these forums for roughly two, and it never ceases to amaze me how crazy these TAS movies can get, or how utterly entertaining they can be. Hell, I remember when the current published Super Mario 64 movie needed 16 stars... But yes, great work and stick around for a nice while would you? The last April Fool's joke was NOT FUNNY D:

When it comes to in-video commentaries, I would most definitely prefer subtitles myself, as when I'm watching a TAS of say, Ristar, I'd much rather listen to the game's great sound track and relaxing sounds then some nerd nasally talking about how far Ristar's arms can stretch in pixels. (It's okay I still love you guys) As far as the video format goes, multi-track drifting MKVs are something I'm typically familiar with, though I can understand not using it. Particularly on the encoding side, MKVs are so picky. I don't know how widespread .fm2 files are but given the fact that I usually keep up on a few video communities, it can't be all that popular yet. If they're anything like MKVs, you should definitely have a help page on the site for how to play them back, probably somewhere in the codecs page possibly.
