that's probably because in 3006, the retro-compatibility of ffdshow will be lost, and that your (yet new) computer isn't enough for this late future. on a more serious note : try to deactivate every option, except "post-treatment", and set this last one to the minimum. if every video on your pc lags, it might be a driver or codec problem. try updgrading or downgrading them.

I was so desperate that you would not come back that I started looking in the source code. full C, with very little documentation, and many speed optimizations/obfuscation (hint : hexadecimal/binary calculus) made me give up after 5 minutes (no emulation programming knowledge :(). so yeah it might need some cleaning, maybe try object oriented programming ?

Does many emulators have a rewinding feature? (can you list some if so). I thought it would be nice feature, looking a bit "magical". Say, you press Backspace and the game goes back in the past at accerelated rate.
no, as it seems like a gadget, a cool gadget though. znes and vba win support it, but it's a feature desired by players, not by the admins here. you'd need to implement their requests first to have a chance to let Meka accepted here. for Meka's case, I'm not sure but it would need to do those first : - record input into a decent movie file format. you can find some examples in the FAQ. some additional info must be recorded too : pal/ntsc, starts by a hard reset, etc. - rerecording (if possible, bullet-proof*) : ability to use savestates to redo parts of the movie. try other emulators to look out how they do. - avi dump of a movie. and keep all of those compatible with at least win and linux, if possible mac. kelesis and mecha dragon will wait... good luck pal ! hope it helps. *bullet-proof rerecording : to avoid desynchs with unmatching savestates, each savestate must record the whole movie up to this point. hence, when you reload the savestate, you're always sure that your movie is coherent with the savestate.

it lacks speed but many other puzzle games also do. the upcoming levels are way harder, it should add the missing wtf factor. I suggest you do the next 10 levels to let people see more interesting levels. the first 10 are not representative. on a side note, this wip and this game sure bring some nostalgia, I played it a lot.

could an editor please emphasize the features that are mandatory (by Bisqwit's decision) to let the emulator accepted on the site ? it could help coders (hello Bock !) to know what needs to be done first.

I can watch it. I use the Satsuki Decoder Pack, which includes a recent ffdshow, the Haali splitter, and some other unrelevant codecs. the video of this file is recognized as H264, and the audio as vorbis. unfortunately, gspot cannot say more. hope it helps.

you don't need to have a savestate for every frame, only on regular intervals. the emulator would just have to skip (fast forward without drawing) to the goal frame from the closest, previous savestate. it would look almost transparently as rewind. this idea has already been discussed in several emulators topics. you can even try it.

unfortunately, Wii isn't HD so you get only 350-ish lines to display the browser. so you can't read anything and you end up using the zoom and scrolling a lot. moreover, if you have a net access for your Wii, most chances are that you didn't get it only for the console but you already have a computer not far, hence browsing from there. so it's just a unuseful gadget. but yeah, it works and it looks nice. I hope we will be able to download free stuff from there, such as freeware, etc.

you can encode chapters into mkvs. you could develop differents plots within the same file easily, maybe multi-angle (this is what your ideas look the most like). an additional step would be to add menus (just like in dvds), but I don't know how (if ?) it can be done in a mkv.

we don't care if it's the exact appropriate abbreviation, we use whatever is most practical to as many people as possible. communication = use words that people have in common. you should face reality. (on a side note : this is a joke post, as the whole topic should be treated by anyone ^^ c'm'on it's just a frickin' game !)

gens 10 ? so you're preparing a bigger new features list for an upcoming release ? by any chance, is "taking gens+ as a source basis" in this list ? that way we could have a (primary, better than nothing) sms/gg support, since the meka upgrading project is on an unlimited hiatus :/ any way, thanks for the maintaining of the gens project !

the "adventure" mode to rayman is minimal, you just play the games 5 by 5 until you finish the 15 days (total : 75 mini games). once you've done the 14th day, all games are unlocked in the other (free) modes. hopefully, there is a challenge mode where you must finish groups of games to unlock new challenges; and a score mode where you must score good enough everywhere to unlock every bonus. all games are very fun, except too many of them cannot be played at the same time by several players (hot seat...) the ddr game is very well done (looks a bit like donkey konga, you strike the commands like drumsticks), gameplay is always nice except the games where you have to hit radios to make rabbits dance ; those are unresponsive. worth buying but don't forget to get a nunchuk for each player !

See, that's easy.
seriously ?! maybe to you but... it looks VERY human dependant, and is so personalized (count how many "I" are quoted) that it's scary. the point of a script is specifically to be a program that replaces as many human actions as possible, and I'm sorry to say that your example fails at it. I can't even list how many actions have no meaning to me (and I don't even quote the "I check..." whose criterias are nowhere near to be defined). the day when someone with no encoding specialization can get all the material and launch the encode automatically seems very far from now. if a fully detailed tutorial had to be written, I can't imagine how long it'd be... that's why I'd like to thank all the encoders who have the patience (and skills) to produce "good enough", ready to seed avi files.

if would be easy if one could use fixed settings for any given emulator, because only scripts would be needed, but I guess than encoding top-notch videos requires human skills too. like, trial & error to get the best result : only someone with enough experience could find the best parameters, and I'm afraid it varies to each movie... if it's not, feel free to correct me and please submit any (emulator wise)general encoding script :)

wii play is bundled with a wiimote, and 9 stupid games, and since there is no nunchuk pictogram on the box, only wiimotes are needed for players. this is not true for other games. in wii sports, tennis/baseball/bowling/golf don't require a nunchuk, whereas boxing requires both players to have a nunchuk... so don't forget to order a 2nd nunchuk ! you can play it alone though. anyway, that game is so unresponsive :( about the wii play games : tanks look cheap, billiards is very hard to play (just like regular billiards...), the funniest is find mii, table tennis and laser hockey have a good gameplay. I bought rayman, it's very funny, especially the dancing game where you have to beat you controllers to the rythmn, like playing drums on DDR. the shooting game looks like virtua cop : predefined ride, reload with a fast movement of the nunchuk, aim and shoot with wiimote. the other games are absurd, like slapping toilets doors into rabbits faces.

there are 2 "585" versions, "0585 - Silent Scope (U).gba" and "0585 - Silent Scope (U) (M5).gba" (headerless I think). use the 2nd one to watch the run (I had a lot of trouble finding it too). you will see instantly if it works : on the good version, the run begins with a quick visit in the options, that fails on the other version. the first level is very funny, the others a bit less. there are multiple times where it makes me wonder why the aim moves around while an enemy is waiting somewhere else to be killed. it looks a bit sloppy. maybe it's due to the fact that pauses are required between shots, I guess.
