very nice Vidar, and the theme is very interesting, is it custom too ? mine is intentionally plain, so that I don't get distracted by the image.

true tests have a time limit and no google allowed, don't they ? :) besides, as for non natives, oscar wilde quotes are much harder than vocabulary, such as "fallacious"...

very cute game, maybe it has potential. the bonus stage is very funny and fast paced, even though the collisions look sloppy (don't know if damage gains time...) the first level seems to be well done, but too much jumps really kill the mood, since the moment of the character is rather disturbing. if you'd want to prevent watchers from being bored, I would suggest to reduce jumps as much as possible, and run (or find other faster tricks) as much as possible. good luck !

why not tagging the movie "no death" and alter the description to explain that, "in this game, 'no death' gets you the best ending with Marin appearing as a reward, however morally it's discutable since the hero is a THIEF, as he stole the bow to spare time." with such a solution, everybody will be satisfied (if someone is not, propose something better !), and the uneducated public would be told what's about. peace bro's !

desynchs with any version, but works with ouzo's cfg (on 9f). curiously, it sets the controllers to "unknown". 9j's "auto sets controller" feature does not seem to be able to know/set this atypic configuration. on the movie : nicely played but I'm not especially thrilled by the game. a bit repetitive. not voting.

ok then. there should be an option, like a mouse configuration (in the start/settings/control panel menu), to bind your middle button. it must wear a specific name (such as : "alt tab" in a rolling list), you'd just have to set it to "middle button/click", the standard/default option.

the javascript function to open a popup is
window.open(url);
SpiDeY is looking for an automated function. of course he could click on every link, as we all do (usually the "newest" icon), and simply by holding ctrl he could open it into a firefox tab, but if I have had understood him well, he wants a single button that does it all for him. I'm as lazy as he is, so I wrote a javascript function (inserted into a bookmark) that automatically browses the "new posts list", scans the "newest" urls, and opens them. unfortunately it creates as many windows as there are posts, so you screen gets crowdy rather quickly. opening stuff into tabs would be more practical, but as I mentionned, I don't know such an automated javascript function yet (probably because it's proprietary to firefox).

it's rather easy to write a javascript that opens every link of a matching criteria, but I'm not aware of a "popup into a firefox tab" function, just a regular browser window popup. besides, the server should ban users of uncontrolled hammering scripts (maximum number of connections per minute is 35, I believe), so it mustn't be used by people not knowing what such scripts exactly do. however, I can post mine, if it's allowed and if someone is interested.

glad to see this idea for a game is appreciated :) for those who don't know the game : the character can pick an updgrade where a shadow clone follow him and repeats his actions (jumps, attacks) with a slight delay. you may have several clones, and manipulate them to hit more enemies at the same time. this is done brilliantly here by primo. yes vote, nice work pal ;)

When you code something in C++ your basic approach is completely different from C. This is very especially true as the size of the program grows. C might be ok for very small programs (less than 1000 lines of code), but I wouldn't like to code anything bigger with it.
so true, that it makes me wonder if Boco was trolling or never programmed anything over 1000 lines of code... :)

glad to hear from you again, primo. I don't have much to say, except that I like it. I guess a side objective such as "hit enemies only with clones" wouldn't be that much faster anyway, since the game is rather straight-forward, but it still looks fancy the way it is. I'd still want to hear other opinions though. Maybe they will come once this gets finished and submitted, I hope.

pgn is a chess movie extension, yet I don't know what program to use it with. xebra, could you please post it on some chess games archive, where we could watch it within a classical, online java player ? if it were possible, it'd be great. (I'm thinking about this site whose address was posted once on those forums)

yup, and I didn't say it was the problem, more the repetitiveness and the long, boring walking sessions. both would decrease ; ie the less backwalking, the better, especially if the speed is not sacrified, or even better, improved. moreover, it would be more spectacular, entertaining, and reduce the drawback of not seeing what's ahead.

maybe you should start the work Warp, so people could see what it would give. I personally would love to see a TAS video tutorial (basic savestates/rerecording), it would be both educative (for curious watchers) and useful (for beginners TASing). but I wouldn't know how to make such a video, your idea would need the participation of experienced players and intelligent, efficient directors. I guess the lack of answers in this topic comes from the lack of such people... we need more heroes :)

won't there be less backwalking with the use of the "super slide" glitch in the next version ? huge fields could be crossed very quickly and it would be less repetitive. I'm not sure I understood TSA's posts fully, where they are leading, but I'd like to say that this version shouldn't have been published too. usually, runs that can be improved significantly are instantly rejected when submitted, I don't see why OoT should be an exception. I understand that this game is ultra-popular, and n64 TAS are rare, so because of the high demand, it was sure that it would be accepted, but I kind of regret that pressure wins over objectivity (no one objects that it can be improved). but it's up to every runner, especially those who worked that much and with such dedication, on such popular and complicated games, to submit their TAS and wait for the votes. it was clear that hords of fans would vote for the publication, then judges accept it ; and it happened. anyway, nice work GuanoBowl, I admire your dedication.

I guess it's because it's spread on dozens of obfuscated code files. you should try having a look at it, it's scary.
