I'm torn on this. It kind of brings up the age-old argument of whether you're going for real time or input time, because if you're going for the latter, it's very markedly improvable. That particular strategy nearly halves the input time, although it does vastly extend the real time portion. I can't vote yet, but I'd probably abstain from voting until a few more pages of discussion have ensued on that topic. (yes, I'm well aware this was a joke)

I messed around with this game for a little while too. The NES version is the only one the left+right glitch seems to work in, but considering that I was still going to have to level up to do any damage at all to bosses (even with the Power Ring), I quit working on it. I managed to get by the guy in that screenshot by using L+R on the shaft beforehand to glitch through the ceiling and then abuse in-game saving and reloading to somehow end up behind him. Not that it did any good, because then I couldn't damage anything beyond him. I cheated to get my attack power up a lot higher just to preview some areas later on, and later it was possible to exit the volcano area early by using L+R to scroll through that room that you needed the item from the lava dragon worm boss thing to get through normally. Sorry about the vagueness; this was all over a year ago.

Aside from the massive time improvement, this is MUCH more entertaining than the previous run. The only parts I really found boring were the boss fights, but they didn't make up too much of the movie anyway. I can't vote, but if I could this would be an easy yes.

I actually briefly worked on a TAS for this game. I got the intro and first level done, went back and watched it, and realized that it was largely quite boring. The only parts that seemed to really be optimizable speedwise were the boss fights, and even on a console those generally go pretty quickly and uneventfully in the first place.

This worked for me once I made a clean install of FCEU. I played this game on an actual console some years ago, and man, it was frustrating. Between my friend and myself, we never got past the second stage. I took some time to try and get stealing to work after the first stage myself (using your movie to play up to that point), and I couldn't get it to work either. Similarly, adding a huge delay before trying to steal when you did didn't affect the result either. Leaving and coming back did, so it does seem like steal's success is somewhat predetermined (probably by the frame you enter the screen). Anyway, this would be a yes vote from me if I could vote. The game is unique enough in its own right, and there are no glaringly obvious problems with it that I can see.

I'm not familiar with this game, but the movie still succeeds in being entertaining, and it obsoletes a Famtasia movie; therefore, it would be a clear yes vote from me if I were capable of doing so. The only questions I would have about it were answered in the submission text.
