Slopes: Running on slopes, up or down, is slower than on flat ground or in the air. I didn't realize this until level 16, so on level 7, 11, and 13 some time is lost on the slopes.
How much effort would it be to go back and fix this, and what do you think the optimization improvement would look like? I assume that the "lag reduction" would be an issue thereafter. I ask this, because I don't want you to have to suffer an obsoletion, when we can fix this now.
Yeah, every time I went back to try and edit something in the run the lag frames would get super shuffled around. Not worth going over the whole run again.

I had to check this twice before I made this statement. I'm seeing serious optimization issues already, after watching the first 4 rounds. Even though the overall time beats the WR, these flaws are clearly visible and jeopardizes your submission. I may not have the right details here, but the end results is clear. The WR is getting away from your run early on in the game. For one, I'm seeing the WR get power ups that are helping out quite a bit. After reading about your "resync" efforts, I'm wondering if there is enough time to correct these issues, unless there is an explanation that can be given. If you were to compare this to the WR run, you'll see what I'm talking about.
There’s a simple reason as to why. The world record run is based off of an unofficial NTSC patch, while my TAS is based off of PAL because there is no NTSC version of the most finished prototype. Also can you please replace the movie file with the User File I posted in the forum? The one I uploaded has a messed up header that makes it think it’s NTSC so the time is labeled as much shorter than it actually is.

In all honesty, I'd rather see a run that shows off all the minigames/content in the game rather than a very repetitive and confusing "any%" run. Besides all the different gags that can be unlocked, there's also a bunch of character coins to collect. I think an "all gags and coins" run would be a much better idea for this game than an "any%" one (assuming it's possible on the emulator given that closing the DS and using the microphone would be required for it.)
An “all gags/coins” run may qualify as a “full completion” type run, but an any % runs is valid even if if it’s repetitive or confusing. That said, I’m not sure if more than this particular mini game needs done for this game to be considered enough for any %.
Well I think it does because it reaches the credits to the game, which any mini game can do. This one is just the fastest.

Definitely a good point, something like that would probably be more entertaining. Still though, I don’t think that means this one has no reason to exist as well. In my opinion, every game deserves a TAS demonstration of at least an Any% run.

Feos, please replace the movie file with this one, which finishes out every level. https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638535618059941086

This movie goes with the unmodified December 5 1994 build. I had to fix all of the desyncs, which sometimes meant slowing down ever so slightly intentionally to end the level on the same frame as the first edition of the TAS. For the judge, this is the final movie that you will be judging. https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638529726238697063

Alright, I understand. I suppose I can make an all levels TAS, shouldn’t take me too long to get the last world out. I’ll cancel this TAS soon, once I’m sure about TASing the last world.

Why not also play the remaining levels? Doesn't look like this game allows to play them from SaveRAM, so playing them all in one go is the only option in Standard.
Okay nobody seems to really get the point of this TAS. I mean sure I guess I could have done the remaining levels and made it an "All Levels" TAS but the category I went with is kind of like Lost Levels warpless, in which you get to the main ending of the game without skipping any worlds

The header for the movie file thinks the TAS is of a different prototype. This file has the header fixed: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638528882657578354

I thing Original Memory Game "20 Cards" works best as when you are selecting the game mode, it never refers to it as easy, medium, or hard, rather by displaying the number of cards in the game.

Redid the entire matching sequence. Saved a frame (two frames because of a truncation error by the author). Requesting Co-auth.
I don't understand this. I clearly saw a posting here, early in the day, that approval for co-authorship was granted. I don't see Spikestuff's name on this and I don't see the posting either. If you have rescinded, then you need to be aware that you will be obsoleted by another submission by Spikestuff.
Okay, I'm so sorry. I thought I had made a mistake before and that the judge was the only one who was supposed to add co-author. Still new to how this whole site works, I'll update it now.

The levels in question are the "pipe levels" and "elevator levels,"

Help needed for the "Elf: The Movie" GBA TAS. There is a large part of the TAS that is rng based, and results affect the length of the gameplay. I can't figure out how to manipulate this rng. To make matters worse, I found a way to manipulate the rng on the level before, and any changes I make would result in me having to reTAS the whole section just to test the section after. I want to fing a value I can change to test the different results on said level and find the fastest. Please respond to this post if interested.

Weird goal choice. As this isn't "any%" nor "all levels" instead it's some sort of hybrid.
The point of the category is that there are 8 worlds that the game wants you to play, but it also gives the option of starting at world 8. It's sort of like a "Warpless" category.
