There is one game that I will be TASing when hourglass has been improved enough for it, and that is Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty. The any% is almost is broken as Abe's Oddysee. You can only skip Scrabania though. Most of the levels have telport glitch areas. Qwerku says that I can also use the Scrabania skip in a 100% TAS too. I think the best version out of the two to use would have to be the non-steam version without the leader boards. It wouldn't be fair for everyone to compete against TAS times on the Steam leader-board.

I have managed to solve the problem now. All my videos are working as they should. I will not need to ask again about encoding the PSX BIOS screen. This thread can be locked.

Ok. I dump a short snippet of the run using Camstudio codec, and used the other code from earlier and it works this time. But one prolem is the screen size on VirtualDub becomes huge. Update: The encode works much better with Camstudio lsoless codec.

Still get the error. The only way I can get it to work is just take out the ones that don't cause the error to show. I encoded using Largynth and the recommended setting to dump segmented AVI.

Do these files contain any gameplay footage or is it just the BIOS screen/opening titles? All you're doing is providing a temp encode, if unnecessary footage is tripping you up then just cut it from the script and go with what works.
Movie_1, movie_2, and movie_4 are just blank screens.

This is probably going to eat up some time, but bear with me. According to your directory listing, movie_4.avi is the shortest video file you have there. I want you to try, in order, running the script with /ONLY/ movie_4 and each of the other eight files, one at a time, to see if they run. That is, I want you to do: movie.avi and movie_4.avi movie_1.avi and movie_4.avi movie_2.avi and movie_4.avi movie_3.avi and movie_4.avi movie_4.avi and movie_5.avi movie_4.avi and movie_6.avi movie_4.avi and movie_7.avi movie_4.avi and movie_8.avi At least one of those should fail with "splice: video formats do not match", and you will know at least one of the files that is not working in your script. This might mean you have to start the entire process over, if something is wrong with one of the files and you can't fix it, but you will know which part is wrong. (And if it turns out to be movie_4 that's causing the problem, well, that's just funny.)
The error comes up when movie_2 and movie_4 are combined.

I'm getting the same error I was getting previous, "splice: video formats do not match."

I really don't want to be "that guy", but could you go to a DOS prompt, Sam, go to the directory where your files are stored, type "dir /p *.avi" and screen-cap the result?

That's a lie, it actually works. How many video files do you have? What are the name of the avi files? Did you make sure to remove that original line that you had? Or are you just wasting our time again?
I have 8 files with the name movie, movie_2, movie_3 up to movie_8.

I have several video files at different resolutions. Then, the game which is movie_5 runs at 378:240. The BIOS screen is video_3 and that's at 660:480. Here's my script: http://pastebin.com/Me9eng4A

I try using the resize methods, but then I get this annoying error when opening up this script in virtualdub. http://i63.tinypic.com/5v98rd.png It would be good to know how to fix this error so I won't need to ask again in the future.

I am having some resolution issues when trying to encode Otoshock's PSX BIOS screen. When I try to append a segment it says that the resolution is different. What is the best settings to encode a PSX bios screen and the movie together?

Why is it so important for you to keep your encode published? Monetized views? I doubt, as I already stated earlier. I don't want to go through that hell again and teach you do things properly, because encoding bizhawk's psx is not as simple as you think. If you want something linked from the publication on your channel, make an encode with lua drawings probably, stuff like that., to at least be able to offer something new to the viewer.
The one thing I find difficult encoding on bizhawk is the bios screens. VirtualDub doesn't want to append the files because they are in a different resolution o the recommended setting for creating segmented AVI.

I will make the final YouTube encode for this if it gets accepted. I promise to feos that I will not mess anything up this time. I will check the video before uploading it to my YouTube channel. Update 2: I can even make the video unlisted and feos can check to make sure that the quality is good before I make it public.
