I wonder how this works.
Pattern is really simple. When you charge H weapon near the maximal state and release it a bit before you'll suicide yourself -> blank screen is skipped. I don't know are there any 100% accurate answers for this but I strongly believe H's charged shot overwrites, skips or destroys something particular off ;)

I'm not sure I understand your explanation Shinryuu, but that's because I'm not really familiar with all the technical parts of the game. Would it be safe to say that although you can keep zipping in Woodman's stage, you eventually need to scroll the screen to the correct position in the stage, and dying is the fastest way to do it? Essentially, what we see on the screen doesn't correspond at all with what the game thinks is your map location at the time, and the death fixes this issue very quickly.
You have to go up that's why there is a little stop and movement changes to succeed in delay scrolling. EDIT1. Sorry not explaining this well last night, I came back to home around 03:45 am and I was extremely exhausted and overworked. But let's go back to topic, it's explained here: http://www.yuko2ch.net/rockman/wood_route.jpg See the place where delay+upscrolling is performed in the ladder area? If you plan to go forward there you'll just end up walking because there are no continued walls anywhere. When upscrolling is done it skips one screen and we appear in the last screen in the same X position like in the screen where scrolling is used, also it is more than necessary to aim for a correct Y position to appear so low in the final screen that single a jump can cause instant death. When we are physically in the boss room we jump, shoot and die. Heatman's weapon is used to skip the long blank screen animation (If I recall correctly it saved 134 frames)

I'm wondering, why does Mega Man stop zipping and fall to his death near the end of Wood Man's stage (right under the last checkpoint)? Shouldn't he continue zipping?
Yes but there is no reason to do it because we had to succeed to make correct jump amounts and stuff there. Everything is calculated from the beginning to attain fastest time as possible. We had to calculate NMI x Rockman's movements etc. together to attain a time what no one can improve anymore when delay+scrollings and screenscrollings were used. Also stages are played so that frame rules are beaten, in the Metalman it was impossible because of the Crashman's tricks but it's was a good thing because Woodman's sound codes x lag x movements were all perfect. So it's meaningless to gain more than 10 frames between Flashman -> Bubbleman stages.

Why on a Japanese page, in Japanese, where I would have to register an account to see it? I tried using babelfish, but got some error about my email adress not being valid or something. I'll just wait until it's published I guess.
FinalFighter and pirohiko published it on that site and used their very own script while encoding it. I don't have encoded movie but I can make one but I have to make it in seperate parts which I don't prefer. Also they wanted to surprise Japanese people before they went to work 06:00 am when most of the people wakes up! Try this :) Guide how to register to nicovideo

Yes vote. Surprise movie from nowhere. Though I haven't been exactly following the news, either. Awesome Woodman stage and the new mindblowing technique in the Crashman stage.
Thanks! Indeed this was a surprise publication from nowhere even I sent this movie to few persons about 3 days before publication. FinalFighter and pirohiko decided to publish this movie at 06:00 am (Japan time) in nicovideo to offer some crazy satisfaction to people before they went to work.

Agreed. This is going to be awesome and entertainment factor stays at 10/10 all the time ;)

Well, this time I didn't contributed at all, so the player list above may be some mistake ^_^; Anyway, great improvement beyond my expectation. This time Rockman becomes the real "Warpman" in the woodman stage. The encode on nicovideo is nice too :D
Oh, I thought it was okay to include your name in this submission as well because you did a great discovery back then :) But I'll fix that for sure.

Haha oh wow no :D I will open this after 3 hours from now because we're going to release Nicovideo then. We do not want to spread this movie like a hell until that time comes. This information came to my ears way too late :)

There is only few games I'll be rampaging once Dolphin is fully compatible in emulation such as SHMUP based games on GC and of course our little blue friend Rockman 9 on Wii arcade. Right now music and sound may glitch up, pad won't work at all, screen blinks a lot with .wad based games like in Rockman 9 (so far as I know it's openGL plugin problem and you can't fix it through settings). One thing really bothers me that you have to get really powerful and capable computer and maybe a "correct" processor to use SSE4 (4.1 and 4.2), I can use SSE to SSE3 but SSE2 works better than any other I'm able to use. Also I'm not really much in to Windows world so I rather use Linux and work on it. At least my computer is almost fully compatible with PS2 based games but I haven't tested anything GC or Wii (non arcade) based games yet. And I hope few games works well then! :P What I've experienced through emulation in these years it seems XP is better in emulator based games, also emulators really don't need more than 1-2gb of RAM. In Vista DirectX10 can give some advantages but sometimes it's just really bad even you turn it back to DirectX9. Info: OS: XP, Vista and Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) ASUS Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT 512mb (a bit overclocked by ASUS) Intel Pentium E5200 @ ~2,50GHz X2 (2,51GHz, this model only lost few hundread milliseconds in tests if compared to 3GHz processors) Kingston Hypermemory X 2gb DDR2 1068mhz (x2) (with coolers) Here's a guide about Dolphin's requirements if you're interested to know more about it: Dolphin requirements

Pretty interesting story behind of your leaving Bisqwit (http://tasvideos.org/Bisqwit.html), even I am not a religious or a believer of God and don't have anything against them. I have to say and admit that I am really openminded and thoughtful person to understand your situation. People keep searching for the truth of life, the real itself and different kind of adventures. People are strong, I've always helped and encouraged other people to get further in life even I've been in the egde of destruction, I don't care, people should live at their fullest and never change that smiling face off from faces. I want you to keep your mind, thinking and life clean and don't let the hatred, sadness or depression to get over your mind. Use your time well. If you're interested, this is a A5 sized picture I did over a year ago. It's my way how I see this world and time: http://www.aijaa.com/img/b/00336/4391648.jpg Before you leave, remember my legendary name in your veins! Thumbs up :P

Hasn't that been done the last couple of TASes anyway? :p
Even Rockman 2 have been punished few times in the past by it's crimes and the game have seen the bright light (in this case "death") and met a dimensional time warp punishment that teared it apart... but still Rockman 2 haven't seen end of the universe! I got something in to my mind from that bird copy movie. If I remember right wasn't there some hacks of Rockman 2 and they glitched near of the gates and showed extra sprite(s)? I don't know are they grabbable objects or anything, just wondering. If I remember correctly this was happening in Rockman no Constancy.

(The shutter is copied at this time) 3:The shutter is prevented from falling by F of 2nd. (Because the shutter is changed into another object when the shutter falls) 4:MegaMan touched the shutter. :p http://www.yuko2ch.net/rockman/birdgate.avi When the shutter falls, MegaMan is damaged from the unknown object.

I KNOW! RIGHT? :D IT'S TERRIBLE!!! P.S. It's the move where I have to adjust the gravitational acceleration at the ladder part with the jet so I can jump on top of the ladder one frame earlier (it's in the previous WIPs but I only discovered it in Knight Man's stage). I missed two of these in Yamato Man's stage so I think it will save two or three frames total for that stage! When I post my WIP you'll see what I mean!
Sounds nice dude! Also be sure to know that frame rules does exist and be ready, you're going to feel my wrath in the future :P
