I was wondering when this would be rejected, given the comments on the other crap submission.

Notice that this list isn't processed, some games already has WIPs!
On the Todo tab. Should be "have WIPs", not has. For Space Invaders (PSX), I recommend Expert over Normal, since it includes extra levels, one being a parody(?) of the original Arcade game. Castlevania Chronicles (PSX) has a game in verification.

Looks impressive. I liked the new end of Bloodpool Act II. The Aitos Act I boss fight looks really impressive, since you don't have the air slash in Special mode. Keep it up!

Awesome work. One suggestion. If you do a full game run, PLEASE turn on Phantomile voices instead of the English dub? Thanks.

About the only reason I could see using a memory card if the emulator allows for none is if the potential for a New Game+ run exists.

I'd admitably rather see real time over in-game time. The constant pausing for IGT runs sucks. Especially for how much you'll need if you really are aiming for it. At least with Super Metroid, it wasn't "play for .5 seconds, pause, play for .5 seconds, pause..."

Looks good. I'm sure without having to ask that the wait period in front of the boss door in Bloodpool Act II is to manipulate the boss. it's kinda ugly, but better then dealing with the wait time for wolf form. Loved both Casandra boss fights. Good job. I liked how you handled Casandra Act I boss fight especially.

Ok, here you go.
Thank you! I still don't understand why anyone would want all those comments going over the video, but whatever, I know how to turn them off. It must be a cultural thing. Having watched it, yes, it's a great improvement. Makes sense that it'd be faster to level up enough to kill the boss before he can use that slow, time-consuming wing smash attack.

Could somebody more familiar with the game explain more of what's going on here? I'm curious how the players are all of a sudden able to dash a lot near the end.
PoR has a pretty easy-to-abuse suspend glitch (can be done in real time). Basically, after saving the game, if you suspend on the veeeeeery edge of a screen, the game thinks you're in the next room when you aren't; when it loads you back in, it can do crazy stuff, like launch you at high speeds or toss you into an entirely new area. At about 2:32 the runner uses this glitch to teleport himself into a room in the Throne Room area that has the Speed Up spell floating. The text is scrolled too quick to see it, but he equips that spell right as he does the next suspend, then is using it to move very quickly for the rest of the game. It's similar to the Black Panther soul in the other Castlevania games. The series as a whole is fun to play through and I recommend giving it a try if metroidvanias have any interest for you at all.
I think most of us understand the suspend glitch, since that was used in old runs. I wanna know how the hell he beat Death/Dracula so damn fast. I see a few attacks and a flurry of numbers on screen. What, did the runner just hit a "DIE MONSTER YOU DON'T BELONG IN THIS WORLD!" button or something? :P YES vote. That was a damn awesome watch.

Nintendo certainly could make the perfect controller, but they'd get sued by Sony for copying the DualShock 2. :P Though the Classic Controller Pro is pretty damn nice, I must say.

Disaster: Day of Crisis should be done. It'll be long, but damn it's fun. It's a shooter and a disaster movie all wrapped into one. Plus it rips off Metal Gear Solid 2. :P

TAS Movie Editor doesn't seem to support .pjm yet. What do I use in the meantime for editing my movie files?
xvi32 will edit it, though since it's a hex editor, it won't be the friendliest option, but it works.

Yes. FF8 doesn't check the memory cards to see if there's a save or not before loading the title screen so it can load straight into the game (like older FFs, such as FF IV).

Thanks for the encode. You forgot to do one thing that'll have a somewhat big impact on the run: You forgot to turn the timer off in the options. Your score will be lower, but it cuts out the wait time at the end of the stages. Also, thanks for the new Stage 1 strat. I didn't think about using the ceiling on the boss like that. Need to improve my speed run then!

Mostly a bad idea, IMO. About the only real good addition to the classic games was fast weapon switching (and turbo, but like that matters for a TAS).

Are you using the correct BIOS (scph1001.bin)? If so, did you set the sound mode to "2: Synchronous (tas safe, buffering glitches)" (or "1: Dual SPU (tas safe, slight glitches [default])", except the sound quality is bleh)?
Yes to everything. I've tried both Dual and Sync for audio, the latter makes the problem worse as I can't hear anything at all. Same BIOS, same version of the emulator. My only guess is that my version of CVC doesn't perfectly match up so thus it isn't read right. Or something. Ah the "joys" of playing with ISOs.

If I remember right from when I hacked in the spell into the PC version, it doesn't skip the speeches.

Just watched it all on youtube. Nice run! Enjoyed watching it and enjoyed following the (earlier) process. I have some questions about your fights with Ultimecia though. What's the reason you didn't use The End on her forms that need more than 1 limit break? Couldn't you swap Irvine for Selphie? Also, against her final form you use some regular attacks after landing a Renzokuken. Why not follow up with a second limit break? It would seem to me like that would be faster than a few regular attacks, (plus some talking on Ultimecia's part) but correct me if i'm wrong. (which i guess is the case) Either way, congrats on finishing the run!
For most instances, The End is slow. As for her final form, if I remember correctly, just attacking her advances her speech when she gets to a set amount of damage...it's not related to how much damage you do. Hence no need for limit breaks and such once you get to a certain point in the final form of the battle.

You were working on this and never told me? Kurse you. Oh well, saves me the trouble of working on it. ^^;; Edit: It desyncs on me after the giant portrait in Block 1. It's obviously not registering a jump as you do a ducking whip instead of a downward jumping whip attack.
