I thought what they did was more clever then the "HAHA NO FLOOR" ending. I mean, he not only created tetris pieces, but he did so by pulling blocks out from UNDER other blocks. THAT is clever.
How come every time I try to watch this on Snes9x the emu crashes? I was able to watch it thanks to the encode
Same for me... playing this smv completely messes up my snes9x :S
Turn of "Sync Samples With Sound CPU", that might fix it. My emulator crashes if I have it on as well, I think it happens if you have a CPU with more than one core.
That worked for me. It doesn't have to deal with CPU Cores, unless the Intel ATOM has more then one core, which I doubt.
I loved the boo fight the most. Nice alternate gaming reference at the end! Only thing I didn't like was the water level twitching, but at least it was only 2 levels...and not every single level.
Voting YES.
BTW, whoever publishes this should make a note about this in the publication, or somebody should edit the SMV to disable that option, as long as it doesn't desync the run.
Well, the same happened with Contra 4. Now that it's been done, we need something else to constantly parrot our desire for until it too is published. Repeat forever and ever.
As much as Sonic games can be interesting to see TASed, this version is sadly far from that, IMO. Bridge 2 is the biggest killer, I think. Even though there is one in Sonic 2, even that one isn't as dull as this one.
I just wasn't thrilled with this. It's nothing on your skills. It's the game.
Voting NO.
I liked it very much. I also have hopes that you or somebody will do a version of this that works to get to the ending as fast as possible. Having your life on a short fuse the entire way would make for an interesting run to watch, I think.
YES vote to this one.
FYI, you should cancel the old run now that you've submitted a new one.
The old one has been canceled already, I thought?
It was not at the time of posting. It is now.
I still don't see why Rebirth mode wasn't used. Besides, I was fairly certain that you're supposed to use the first version, no matter what the game, (in this case, PlayStation) but judging by everyone's responses, I guess not.
No, you don't have to. Now if somebody did a version of this game that was virtually identical and completed slower, unless there's good reason, then it would be rejected. I'm sure I can find an example somewhere...
From what I could see from videos of them, WoodMan and CutMan have more speech samples in the Japanese version, probably because they didn't bother to replace them with English voices and simply deleted everything that wasn't just grunting. But, I know how much everybody on this site hates choosing a non-English version of a game...
I'd rather have the Japanese version of 8 over the English one. Gawd I hate Mega Man's VA.
Question: Is it possible to get the same type of glitch with the moving boxes in Spring Yard 3 like what you did in Marble Zone 1/3? Or doesn't it work with 2 moving platforms like that?
Still enjoyed the run though. Voting YES as an improvement.
I give this a meh. You missed I think 2 knife swipes, plus some of the movements seem a bit roundabout when doing turns (yes, I know RE controls suck, but still, this is a TAS).
I think it just needs a little touchup and I think it'll be ok.
If I remember correctly, there is a way to have self-booting Dreamcast ISOs without even need for a modchip. If you, you know, want to go that route. ^^;;
The answer is yes; I remember there was a period of several months during which the SDA record for OoT was faster than the published TAS, and given the speed improvements found since then I wouldn't be surprised to see that situation happen again.
We're still waiting on that ActRaiser improvement too. It's only been 2 years since I beat OgreSlayer's time...
Like all MMX2 runs, this one uses a lot of variety in weapons and makes good use of them. My favorite MMX game to be TAS'd.
The entertainment was excellent, especially with enemies being destroyed while you blink.
My only question is, which category do we publish this run under?
Well, given that the 100% doesn't collect the Zero Parts, it's "technically" not 100% (according to some other site ^^;; ).
But by the same logic, this run really isn't 0% since it is the opposite situation. They should almost be renamed:
100% -> All Items w/ Bad Ending
0% -> No Items w/ Best Ending
Either that or just call this 0%.
Amazing TAS all around. There was lots of stuff I didn't know about and I liked it a lot.
But say... did killing Dizzy when you did instead of later net you anything? Was that time stopper of any actual use before Glow and Skiver, or was it just for the show? I was thinking if changing order was possible.
Obviously it's needed for Skiver, because it keeps him in place for a quick kill. Otherwise he pulls a Storm Eagle and flies all over the place.
