Then you're not looking hard enough. I can come up with 3 different locations with ease where to get the good ROM. At least at one of them I finally found the [f1] ROM. (I'd give locations, but that's against the rules.)

I've tried 0.9 for a little bit here, and I must say that the new controller plugin SUCKS. While it lets me properly configure my PS2 controller to work (and it works in Windows just fine), when I go to actually playing the game, no inputs are accepted, though it works just fine with the keyboard. Seriously, WTF?! Stupid. I'm going back to the input plugin with 0.7. Edit: Going back to 0.7 in general because 0.9 keeps screwing around with the plugins and deletes what I want to use. Bastard.

They are, but only really in the Wishlist. Separate threads really are only for discussion, videos, and the like.

I didn't enjoy the no charge aspect. The only time it was remotely fun is area 6, but even then it can't redeem the fact that the game opens up to corneria not even getting a medal and being really boring.
But if he's aiming for "fastest time on the red line" route, then you DO NOT want to get medals, because they cost time.

EDIT: The alternate site Sir VG posted in the DS Emulator forums has the re-record emulator that works on my PC :D :D :D Here's a test TAS of a 3 star coin run in 1-1 Plays as Luigi for cosmetic change (and something interesting to watch other than Mario, think of it as the Justin Bailey code in NES Metroid). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpGgImY3_R0
The link I posted is for the last version (the buggy one). Have you tried the new version that got posted?

I found an old "TAS" (or just some really freaking good Japanese player) and he used 6 on that boss. Don't know if it was just bad play on his part or what... He also used Astro Crush in combo with the buster at Forte.

Given that I can't find the [f1] version (I just have good versions), even the save state won't work for me. Sorry, too much going against this run for me to even try looking at it anymore.

I gave a try to Megaman ZX/Advent. ZX plays pretty much perfect and would be great for a run. Advent has major issues - sprites don't appear and the videos run like crap, so that's out for now.
ZOMG! DO IT :)
The challenge for somebody willing to do Advent would be astronomical and amazing in that aspect, but boring because you can't see what's going on. As for ZX, Aile is required. X is suppose to have a sissy voice. :P

I just remembered about that one other boss - Wily 3 against the one that looks like an airplane with lasers. He's weak against Astro Crush. How many hits does it take with that to kill him?

About the only weapon energy you would really need to worry about is Astro Crush, which really is only good on Aqua Man and Wily, but the latter really doesn't matter to be honest. You'll be using other stuff besides that. Items that should be looked into: Power Shield - 6 bolts - Depends on how much damage you're taking, if any. Likely not gonna be useful though. Laser Shot - 5 bolts Arrow Shot - 5 bolts I don't know how well those will work with TASing, but something to consider, especially laser since it hits the enemy and keeps on going. Energy Saver - 6 bolts - As you stated, probably something to consider. Likely in the end not worth it, but let's keep it in mind. Highspeed Charger - 7 bolts - Depends on how much you'll use the buster. If you use it a lot at full power, then it'll be worth it. But given that it comes late, probably won't be worth the time it takes to get 7 bolts. Step Booster - 5 bolts - For a normal run, a must. But since I doubt there's areas that you can't use the Mega Ball Bounce on where you'd use this. Uh, yeah. Looks like everything else is probably worthless. ^^;;

The download link for the emulator doesn't work anymore. "The requested URL /desrr was not found on this server." Edit: I found somebody that has it on an alternate site. http://sharebee.com/417cca54

Maybe. BTW, what level do you get Rush Bike in? That's a difference maker too. I think you do get that in Grenade Man (from the mini boss), which make's Clown Man's level faster. I don't know if a TAS perfected slide slide jump jump could be faster then that.

I tested the star in 1-1.But it's slower(about 10 frame) I'll make the vid if someone get desync.
Desync's right from the get go - it doesn't select the save file to use.

Give me torrent filenames, or at the very least, link to the published movie page, and I'll restore them.
No, those are movies that didn't get published, PERIOD. Gunstar Heroes wasn't published because 'it was too pretty, and video codecs [at the time] didn't handle the encoding very well'. Don't know why the other one wasn't. Anyways, as for me, I like the idea of #2. There are some movies (like the original 'best ending' Gimmick run that I like better then the current run. But instead of torrents, how about uploading to Archive.org instead and doing torrent for the historically awesome ones?

Well, I'm curious as to why you used one in the first place? Anyways, if you really want us to see it, you'll have to post it. Someplace like Mediafire of whatever. Otherwise, all we see is this:

I think he didn't mean highest speed to beat the game, but highest speed to beat the hardest route in the game (Red Line). If you wanted to beat the fastest route, you'd be on a completely different path (starting with beating a different boss in Corneria, then taking the warp route in the Asteroid Belt. One thing I just noticed on the ROM title which could be the problem - [f1]? So I take it this isn't the good dump (which would be [!])? Edit: Yeah, it's a "Fixed" ROM, according to the f1 code. Wonder how it's "fixed"?

Hyper Slider is a definite must. I know you can easily get 5 bolts without losing that much time. As for the first 4, take Grenade Man out first. I believe you can beat him faster because you can almost always hit him with the buster while Tengu has periods you can't.

You do know SDA has weird conventions for timing, right?
Not that weird. Besides, are you REALLY gonna account for 4 minutes in difference between this and the Redline run (which this is)? I think not. I'll admit I haven't watched this yet, but I'm already looking negatively on it. I'll try to watch with a clear and open mind later.

That was awesome! I'm also glad the death is gone from here - it just ruins the flow of the game. ^^ Hope you do the best ending version too - I actually like seeing that over this, but this was still awesome to watch. :)

Is there any way to change the button mapping. I don't really like the default
Yes. Config menu. Control config for game controls. Hotkey config for special keys (like frame advance). Any emulator that doesn't support button mapping is a stupid one. :P

Oops, yup. I swear I saw it say Shock Man I swear! I'm not going crazy!
Well, it could be like Crashman, as the quiz does take Clash as acceptable, since it's in the Japanese version.

I'm hoping to see somebody pick this up and run with it. It runs really well on our emulator. I don't admitably like how poor the touch controls are (at least while TASing), but it's still playable. So this video I'm providing is far from optimal, but consider it a strategy video for Level 1. Yes, my DK fight SUCKS. I'm aware of it. But I'm just getting interest going and providing some strategies. http://www.mediafire.com/?d2nctnzlmk2 General Ideas: 1. Kill off every Mini Mario except 1, unless it's impossible in the level (for instance, 1-1 you can't kill off any Mini Marios. 2. In the case #1 is impossible, try not to do a perfect chain (I failed in the video). Perfect Chain bonuses take time. For those not in the know, a perfect chain is to get all the Mini Marios in the door in quick succession. 3. Try to kill as many of the remaining Mini Marios at the DK fight during downtime. Any that are alive at the end make the points rackup take longer. 4. Remember that the D-Pad moves the screen around, so you can use that in combo with the mouse to do the run.
