Disregarding my opinion that choosing a version based on how fast you can get through the title screen isn't a very good one, I noticed that with the final boss you would wait until the mouth was open to start shooting. Would shooting some moments before so that the first shot hit as soon as the mouth opened up make that part of the fight go any faster?
The final boss is invulnerable until the mouth is open, and the attack must hit the mouth, not the arms (or you do no damage).

I would like to see a concept demo of the following: Start the game with all 14 emeralds. Play as Sonic and beat Doomsday Zone. That's it. End game as Dr. Eggman is beaten. It would be in the guidelines, since you'd just need a save file with all the emeralds collected.

Ludwig, Morton, and Roy could be done, but it'll take some fancy footwork to do it.

I remember when one time back when I still had a genesis I was able to play as Knuckles in the original Sonic the Hedgehog. Tho right now I don't relly remember how, but I think that it was done by putting the cartridge into sagas 32x. (tho I might be wrong about that)
Sonic 1 + Sonic & Knucles = Sonic 3 Mini-Game Heaven. The only games that the lock-on works with is Sonic 3 and Sonic 2. All other games give a "NO WAY" message, so you're sleep-posting. ^^

I enjoyed the video. Your gameplay level was high and I enjoyed seeing all the tricks you could do. I will make this note: I'm voting yes, however if somebody does a 100% run, I want that to obsolete this run. This is one of those games that needs everything done, not just some of it, since it's so short.

Well, they do boast 100000 members, which compared to our ~1500 (would-be 3000 if I didn't run purge once in a while) is rather impressive.
It's not the quantity, but the quality, Bisqwit. :) (As an off mention, I used to belong to a large forum. Unfortunately, they let a bunch of idiots run around (not to mention like 95% of the staff was in that category). This is why I believe size just makes things worse.)

Ultra was a pseudoname of Konami because of Nintendo of America's stupid 10 game/company/year limitation, if my memory serves me correctly. Edit: Yep, though it was 5 games a year, not 10.
Ultra Software Corporation was a spinoff company created in 1988 as a subsidiary of Konami of America, in an effort to get around Nintendo of America's strict licensing rules. One of these rules was that a third-party company could only publish up to five games per year for the Nintendo Entertainment System in the US. This was hardly convenient for Konami, which had begun releasing more than ten games a year for both the Famicom and Famicom Disk System in Japan. With a greater library than they were allowed to localize, Konami formed the Ultra Games brand to extend their annual library to ten games a year.

The 2-1 boss fight seemed like he got a way from you too much, but maybe I'm overanalyzing. Great run though. Yes vote. :) BTW, you must have used a bad ROM, because my good ROM didn't match the checksum, but it ran perfectly fine.

In hindsight I feel like a bit of an ass for jumping to the conclusion that this person stole bisqwit's movie. Although, the video is clearly tool-assisted and doesn't mention it, I really shouldn't be throwing out accusations like that.
Especially since it's nothing like Bisqwit's movie.

Visiting 100% of the rooms is an invisible goal - you don't see the results. Is there a ram location that counts the visited rooms?
It's not invisible. Look at the menu screens. As a bonus, he even gave us one at Dracula showing the 100% completion rate. For your benefit, I'll even give you a screen from the run. Overall, the run was good. It was definitely well played, however entertaining wise...it's a meh.

No complaints here, your boss fight was excellent. I especially liked that jump early on from the ledge just above the first green lizardman unto the floating board. That must have taken some work.

I have my latest attempt ripped from DVD, but haven't sent it to SDA at this point since I haven't gotten my notes typed up yet. And yes, it's about 3 minutes faster, and about 39 seconds faster than OgreSlayeR's TAS. A lot of improvement came about because of your work, so thanks for that. :) I'll try to encode something later, if I have time.

Well, if (and a big if at that) I ever go back and do another attempt at ActRaiser on the console, I'll remember that. Jumping seemed faster to me on stairs (I also do it on Casandra going up sandy slopes).

The strategy on the apple is good. One new thing is about the stairs just before the boss. Is it faster to jump up them or to walk (like you do in the WIP)?

Overall, looks good. I wonder if there's a way that the apple at the end there could be incorporated into things that would allow you to burn through all the spikes, plus if you have more HP at the end it'll take less time to fill. If there's a way that wouldn't cost you much time, that would be my only suggestion.
