I watched your short run and I must say that I am interested in seeing a complete run. IMO, doing a complete speedrun of the game shouldn't take you so long, since you can just look at puzzle solutions on the web (GameFAQs pops into mind), so why not just go and complete it? :)

I've watched the speedrun from start to finish, and I must say that I am impressed with it. And how you managed to get everything in just a little over two hours just makes it even more impressive. A big YES from me.

You know that that thing is a kiwi!? Do you speak Japanese? Can you tell me any other details?
Here's a picture of a Kiwi. http://www.doc.govt.nz/images/national/kiwi-stewartis-brown.jpg If you compare that Kiwi to the Kiwi in the game, you'd notice striking similiarites between them. That's why I called the bird in the game a Kiwi. I don't speak japanese, and I can't even read japanese, so I can't really tell you much about the game other than that you had to use blocks, dye and creatures to help you get to the Rainbow Crystals or Gems to complete the level.

I thought I'd try my hand on making my own speedrun with Mario and Wario, a game that requires you to use the SNES Mouse to play it. However, after loading the ROM and checking the "Enable Mouse" under the Input pull-down menu, nothing happens. Did I miss a vital add-on or anything that allows you to use the mouse? Thanks for any info. :)

I was browsing through the GameFAQs website to see what SNES ROM I wanted to try next. One game caught my glimpse: Mario and Wario. I downloaded the ROM and tried it out on ZSNES. It certainly caught my interest. It was a game that was not released in America for some reason, and it utilities the SNES mouse. It is playable with the controller too; but it's not as "free". I have yet to figure out how to play the game with a controller, though. The story is that Wario plays a prank on Mario by throwing random things on his head to impair his vision - let it be a bucket, vase, eggshell, barrel, cloud, and so on. Wanda, a fairy, decides to help Mario by helping him through the levels by adding or removing blocks, destroying enemies and nudging him around so he can reach to the GOAL, where Luigi is so he can remove the object that is impairing Mario's vision. This game is, of course, timed so you don't really have time to fool around. Mushrooms in the game add more time. Stars give you bonus points, and if you collect all four in a level, you get a 1-UP. Coin blocks can give up to 10 coins if you repeatedly click on it. There are 8 worlds to choose from at the start, which consists of 10 stages each. Each world gets progressively harder than the previous by adding new obstacles, such as timed and disappearing blocks, and making the levels longer with shorter time. However, Mario is not the only "playable" character. You can have Peach or even Yoshi be the victim of Wario's pranks. Each character has various speeds. Peach is the slowest, which is suitable for beginners, and Yoshi is the fastest, which is suitable for advanced players. Mario is in the happy medium of the two. So, anyway, what am I going with this? I was wondering if anyone would do a speedrun of Mario and Wario. I'd do this myself, but I have almost no experience in doing speedruns. ^_^;; There could be two different speedruns. One is to collect all the stars on the way, and the other is just to get to the GOAL as fast as you can. Yoshi would be the ideal character for the speedrun in either case. Just thought it'd be an interesting speedrun.

I was going to vote Meh on your older run since you didn't include the owl ranting at the end, but this time you get a YES from me. :) I just wish I could vote, though... so a verbal (typed?) vote will have to do.

I have some problems configuring my controller to SNES9X 1.43+ - downloaded from the latest update (#7). When I open the joystick config screen, most of the settings are set to white (which means they're not working) while only one or two actually works, since they are blue. But when I try to assign a button, three things happen: - The button gets mapped properly. - The button remains white and is not mapped at all. - Two or more buttons are assigned the same map. (ie: I assign button A to this map, and it is also mapped to the UP and DOWN buttons) The first one RARELY, if at ALL, works. I get a lot of the second and third ones. I've tried the "assign a button, then click OK and do again with the next button" method, but that didn't work. I use a Gravis GamePad PRO controller, and it has worked for me for a long time - it works in ZSNES and other games properly, that's for sure, but not in SNES9X 1.43+. I am terribly sorry if this has been asked before. Thank you for your help.

Once again, you have impressed me with this run. Not only it is better and faster, it's more creative this time around. It's a pity that you lost time VS Lololo and Lalala, but otherwise the run is just great. I've noticed that this VS your older run, you're actually as fast as King Dedede this time. In your other run you were slightly slower, but only just slightly. Well, pointless to point this out, but still - just something I've noticed. Anyway, this run gets a big yes from me.

Thanks for the tips quietkane. I simply just played around with all the voice-based options like you suggested, and the movie ran just perfectly. :3

What ROM do you use to view the speedrun correctly? I've tried using Final Fantasy V (J).smc ROM mentioned earlier in the thread, but it desyncs right at the beginning in the forest. I downloaded the ROM named "Final Fantasy V (J)" but when I unzipped it with WinRAR, it gave me the "Final Fantasy 5 (J).smc" ROM. Does that make much a difference? Or did I miss some set-up directions somewhere? I didn't have any problems viewing the other speedruns on this fourm on the SNES9X emulator. Help would be appericated. :)

For some reason I can't view the newest Sonic3&K avi file by SprintGod because it's missing a vital codec. I've tried Windows Media Player. No go. I've tried DivX. No go. I've tired Windows Classic Player. No go. I've even tried RealPlayer. No go. They all require me to get a certain codec. I've already checked to see if I've gotten all the latest downloads, but most of them say that are none available to download to upgrade. I've checked the FAQs and the stickies, but none of them say where you can get one. I've even looked into the related topics, but they wasn't talking about my problem. If anyone can help me with this, then it will be greatly appericated. :)
