Better quality and smaller file size.
So why is it a fringe format?

natt, I don't know if it's due to my codecs (I am using ffdshow) or my computer but every once in a while, the running doesn't appear to be smooth. I am referring to your 720p encode.
I hate to say it, but it might be your computer. The video is 10 bit 4:2:0 at 720P and full 60fps. Nothing can decode that in hardware, so it's full software, and quite demanding at that. The SD encode (768x432, 8 bit) has also been produced to a high level of quality; you might try that.
Why is there nothing that can decode that in hardware? What is so special about it? <-- Noob Btw. I love my new laptop. Two threads are at about 30%, the other two threads are totally idel. So I could in theory watch 6 of these videos at the same time. :) If I didn't say it already, yes vote. The running around is boring and I wish the game didn't have smoke bombs, but the boss fights are very entertaining.

Instead of explaining why he neglects prior information from others or apologizing for wrong assumptions or his missguided and borderline racist comment about rupees/rubies, he just keeps asking stupid questions. I'm starting to think Swordless might be right. Maybe he is just a troll.
Well that didn't take long. Welcome to the dark side. ;D

Pretty sure he means 30 frames.
Ah well 0.50 seconds. close enough :D

Oh just noticed, the 5r behind midos house are probably better than 3r from a rock. Since we can't clip the house on the stick route, it is directly on the way. And nut throwing is probably best done during King Dodongo fight. He makes you wait a while anyway.

When Sock first found WWing to the credits from ToT, he set FW immediately after LACS, but when this was tested on console, it froze. It was originally presumed to be "another emulator/console difference" but now that we know that's probably not the case, it's possible there's a way to set FW without having to leave and reenter ToT.
He probably didn't warp into ToT to start the cutscene, but walked in. The LACS doesn't change the entrance you came in. The warp entrance just doesn't do it.

Yeah this is possible. It worked out beautifully in the old USA WIP. And although unimportant, I'll add that we no longer pressure jump. Now we superflip onto the lower part of the rope ^_^. Saves a bit of time and looks slick.
That's both great :)

I highly doubt that we can get that one without a sword, that's why I didn't put it in there. If we can get it, it would probably replace one side of the bridge, not slashing the bushes. Slashing bushes is really quick. Four bushes more or less doesn't matter that much, if you are slicing anyway. But good thinking. :)

Now that SpiderWaffel has misteriously disapeared, and will never be seen again, there are only people left who will actually listen, so I'll write down the route to clarify things. stick aqua escape down river 17r aquaslide to Kakariko cucco collecting, bottle, 3r from rock (20r) owl skip -> bridge (80r) buy shield (0r) DoT skip (bottle has to be on c-right) adault Kakariko, Pocket Egg HISS to Lake Hylia slice bushes (40r) Tektite hover to pond steal rod, bottle B (20r) get to leaf trees in the west of HF, get a nut drop slide of nearby poe to Kakariko Wake up Talon -> Cojiro Throw a rock, while it's in the air RBA bombs and cojiro, get bomb drop from landing rock (this has to be tried out, if it's actually possible. If not the bugs have to be gotten on the previous trip to Kakariko) Slide to Lost Woods through Hyrule field, pressure jump trade Cojiro for odd mush Go through Goron City to Kakariko, to not occur the HF intro cutscene Get a fish in Kakariko Grotto, trade odd mush for odd potion again through HF to LW, you know the drill trade odd potion for poachers saw some time before this point RBA all the trade items from cojiro onwards, RBA fish and throw some nuts, when it's most convenient Go through Goron city to magic, get magic Equip sword and cutscene SS to Dodongos Cavers Hover up the skull, light the eyes Ocarina items switch kill King Dodongo warp to Lake Hylia with Serenade of water Hover back up to the fishing pond get rod, get bottle on B (0r) Superslide your way to the carpenters tent trade poachers saw for broken sword RBA broken sword warp to temple of time with prelude of light watch boring cutscene set Farores wind at temple of time entrance go to Dodongos Cavern Use wrong warp PROFIT! I tried to not use shorthand, since it's often confusing to people who don't plan routes for this game all the time. A few slipped in, but only after I had spelled the names out previously. Please correct me if I made a mistake somewhere.

Because I don't TAS this game I don't claim to know precise timings, what is definatly faster, etc, when it's a case that isn't clear cut. Spider Waffle does and he is annoying as hell. The problem isn't even that his suggestions are complete shit, but that he has been told that they are complete shit in kinder words before, but won't stop bringing them up over and over again. Well if the game says rupees that's some bad engrish:
No, you are wrong. Rubys are a specific kind of gem stone, which are red. Rupees come in all sorts of colors. It's a fantasy word, deal with it.
Anyway, I don't see anywhere where the specific tree nuts is mentioned. I guess if you're going to use pond twice you need an extra 20, but that's not until the end, you could get the 20 in the box by the skulita or the chains when leaving market the second time.
Yeah because the broken bridge as adault totally has chains. -.-
Getting 15 from bushes in lake plus extra 20 in river or chains is still going to take some time, where has bugs+selling is only about 7s, so it's pretty close, certainly not obvious without more precise timing.
Yeah sure whatever. I don't have the will to explain why this is stupid.
The specific tree is never mentioned, which is what I said...
Totally, that's why you were talking about trees in the north west. You are never wrong, oh great allmighty being!

Well I thought I may as well do the time estimates since I didn't see them anywhere. I don't know why you have to be so negative about that, and so hateful in general, or how you think you're helping. I'm not sure if we know which tree is ideal to check for nuts, there's the 6 in the NW corner, but those are all out of the way, and the one large patch in the south as 6 nut trees. I'm not sure what the Ruby plan is though, since you need 110 total, and can only hold 99 until you get adult wallet. You can get 92-95 if you get the platform and grass rubies, river bridge rubies and 2 chain rubies, but that's still 15 or so more you need from trees, I don't think there's many trees that can drop 5, Even if there were 3, I'm not sure if that's faster than selling bugs, is there something I'm missing? If you get all 3 of the chains you'd still be at 99r, needing 11r more.
If you would LISTEN you would know which trees. I suggest you read back in this thread and you'll know. We need 120r, not 110. Don't really know where you get 110 from. You can easily get the missing 40 by slashung a few bushes at LH.

-.- You do not listen at all, do you? We will get the rod from the fishing pond. We won't sell bugs. Why would we? What would we ever need the money for? We will get nuts on the way from the pond to Kakariko, from a tree in HF. It's on the way. Max 5s lost. Ofcourse we are going to RBA bomb bag and bombs. There is no question about it. Why do you refuse to listen?!

Why grab one at all? In the next MST you will have a bottle for the death warps. With a bottle you can delay the timer even in volvagias room.

I haven't seen any discussion about a possible barriere skip for years now. So I'm very rusty on the details. Anywho

This is the hitbox. Around the hitbox is an invisible wall (which is open below and above). You can cancel the hitbox by using the wind waker on the same frame it would knock you back. When taking damage, Link no longer is invulnerable to the hitbox, so he gets knocked back as soon as he stops blinking red.
So what you are saying is that we actually can zombie hover in the damage field for a short while, but that we'll get knocked back out when link stops blinking? What if forest water were to expire on the exact frame at which Link stops blinking? Might that cancel the knockback again?

Don't you need to free tingle for him to decrypt the triforce charts? In some games he would just glitch to his island at a certain point, but I doubt that's the case here.

So basically you get caught by any Moblin in the game and thrown into the jail cell as long as you don't have completed FF1 or as long as you don't have a sword? Well both would make sense. That's fun.

But what is the reason for not doing this with bombs? We can get 13 very quickly from rock/grass drops. To get full milk, we need a cow and Epona's song. To get Epona's song, we only need to RBA the poacher's saw. And there's a cow in a grotto that's like 1 second out of the way while going for magic from the poacher's saw acquisition (definitely less out-of-the-way than the fish grotto on the way to Odd Potion, anyway). So unless I'm looking at this wrong, full milk and bombs should be cheaper and faster than fish and nuts. Or at least a contender, as the song cutscene does take a few seconds. This is where you tell me how I'm looking at it wrong :D
If you look at it right, you'll see that Eponas Song is out of RBA range. ;)

Yeah we are totally going to the graveyard just to get the shield... Sombeody could put a link to ZSR into the first post. All the info about this game would be way too much.

Seriously guys. If you had just said that this is a test run, nobody would have talked about changing angles during a super swim or sub optimal rolls. You have wasted all our times. If it's just a test run, the only thing that can be commented upon is the route.

Problem with sticks is that you can not use them as adault. So you can't break them. The lowest amount of sticks you can RBA is 20. But only 13 will give you Farores wind. So you see the dilemma here.

Oh yeah how dumb of me not knowing that this is just a test run. How could I not know this? Maybe because nobody said a word about it?!

Well everything to the end of windfall seems to be the same. So my questions still stand. :D Aditional question for the new wip: Couldn't you kill those moblins in the sub way faster with the iron sword one of them drops, than with that wooden stick? Also why not get the leaf when you get the forest water anyway?
