One guys terrorist is always another guys freedom fighter. The british also legally owned the (now) USA and I'm sure they saw the founding fathers as terrorist. So I'll reserve judgement on this issue and just see how it plays out. Because in history the winner was always right...

In fact, most of Africa current problems with diseases are due to absolute lack of morals: at least 25% of men have raped a child, people infect others thinking the other will carry with his 'bad spirit' and he will be free, and infidelity is the norm, not the exception.
You said it yourself. Africans are doing those things because of THEIR stupid religeons. (disclaimer: imo all religeons are equally stupid) They rape and harm others and even children because their religeos leaders tell them that they will be cured from AIDS if they do so. And religeos people that they are they believe them. In the end everybody wants to live, so they do these horrible things. All in the name of religeon. Btw. Invidelity is also the norm in the western world. You just have to turn on the news to see what gouvener has a mistress this week. Here we are just generally better in hiding it and if we are smart we use condoms, which most africans just have no access to.

Could you please explain why his statements are false? I know quite a lot of atheists and none of them has murdered somebody. Shouldn't they be on a murder spre right now? PS: I'm not saying that believing in a god is stupid, but organized religeon always is and always will be no matter in what shape or form.

fire temple would immediately use this trick after entering the temple: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxJNes3c5hg
Actually that's not true. We would just catch a fish to RBA the bosskey (even more boring XD ). Then one would go in there and hit Volvagia on the head with the B-hammer a few times and fire temple would be over. I mean the bosskey door is in the freaking second room. That temple would effectively be skipped.

- refilling chus - BA hammer on B, effectively skipping all of the fire temple - RBA the quiver, effectively skipping the forest temple In short you would have pretty much no temples left and that would just be sad, since MST is there to showcase all the glitches in them.

The glory of the previous run was that it showcased the core of the game without completely abusing sequence breaks. I don't want to see such a good core storyline run of a game turned into a sequence broken collectathon. I don't think that is what this category is about.
Äääääääh no it wasn't. Bloobs run skiped and switched a lot. This is just using the DoT skip and thus skipping the OoT- and some other cutscenes. That will make the run a lot more watchable, imo. There won't be any BA or RBA in this run btw., since that would really defeat the purpose of this run. The purpose is to show off all the dungeons and bosses. @Grunz Looks really good this far. Though you might have to cut down on Chus a little if we need some for adault. I guess we'll see it then.

Heh. I've always considered Xelotath to be the easier one to run because of her weak zombies (though the inability to decapitate monsters because of that phantom limb syndrome is certainly annoying). Playing with her as the final target would result in plenty of sanity drain, from running past zombies that are doing the "green gaze" on you, and usually it wouldn't be worth your time to cast the spells needed to restore it. Presumably all of the "This can't be happening" cutscenes would have to be manipulated away, though, since they're strictly "wasted" time.
Yeah manipulating those cutscenes away would be sad, since they are awesome, but neccessary. One problem I see with this is that once your sanity is drained the green gaze drains your health (I encountered this problem one time when I wanted to play the game with no sanity). They really shouldn't have made it this way, makes the game less fun, imo. And once you are sufficiently injured you can't run anymore, which would be a problem. So I don't know how feasable it is to play a TAS in the Xel-story. The other zombies also drain your sanity, just not as much, so that might be the better option.

Wait what? No SS and HISS are a lot faster than backwalking. Why do you think it's used so much? See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iYjxz5DOiI&fmt=18
Could've sworn I read that somewhere in this thread, but now that I look for it I can't find it. I guess I'm losing it...
You probably read in the OoT-thread that damage-ISS is slower than backwalking or sidehopping, which it is. That's why we are not using it. There are a lot of super slides: normal SS: has the fastest speed that can be gained in the game (I believe it was 27), but you can't turn corners or use items while doing it. ISS: it can be gained from multiple sources. The fastest ISS you'll get comes out of a normal SS, the second fastest from a mega flip and slowest from damage. And that damage ISS is slower than backwalking or sidehopping. With an ISS you can turn corners and whip out items while sliding. HISS: Was discovered pretty recently. You get the speed of a normal SS, as you start it directly from an explosive, but also all the nice things of an ISS, like using items or turning corners. HISS will work only out of water in OoT but works everywhere in MM. Another nice thing about it is that for a normal SS you need something you can pick up, a HISS doesn't need that.

for MM, it wouldn't look so much different, we would only do less trips to the bomb shop and some other small changes
Oh, right, backwalking is faster than bomb-initiated slides, isn't it? There goes that idea.
Wait what? No SS and HISS are a lot faster than backwalking. Why do you think it's used so much? See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iYjxz5DOiI&fmt=18 And ofcourse faster bomb timers would make some slides faster, but then we would have problems in other places. We probably wouldn't have enough time to activate ISG or build staircases, etc. Infinite number of bombs and chus also wouldn't make the run that much faster. We buy only 3 times and at some points we even have problems to use up all those explosives. Ofcourse with infinite Chus we could replace mega flips with normal hovers again, which are slightly faster, but it still wouldn't warrent an extra "hacked run" I can't see more than 5 minutes improvement comming from it all in all.

I'm sure that was also mentioned before, but why not just play the TAS on linux, then? And is it foreseeable when it's going to be ported to windows or could it really take until 2012?

But we REALLY need a new any%. I really hoped that it would continue this year but judging by the progress of mupen+ it won't happen before 2012, if ever. I'm not demanding, or anything, just saying that I'm somewhat disappointed...

hmm good idea. you should probably put that in the route as this part will come up pretty soon. Btw. could you test out if you can save more money in a TAS through that trick. I suppose even if we save like 50r it won't help us, but you never know...

I don't think we have the Chu left to do it, but one less luck manipulation is always a good thing.

I say let Sl do his run up until the Deku palace and then we'll see how much health he has left.

Yeah the fairy from the woodfall pots is what I meant. However if we have enough hearts to live through the wizrobe battle we might just be able to get a heart from the snowballs after him. Then we don't have to take as much damage afterwards.

Like promised I went over the route. Looks really good ^^ I just noticed one problem. Since we are not drinking the red potion anymore we have to know with how much damage we get to the Deku Palace to calculate how much damage we have to take. If we take too much we might even have to get hearts or a fairy...

Yeah we are not going to use the bremer mask or the deku stick. Both takes too long and with the bremer mask we probably won't make it in time for the curiosity shop. So we are going with empty-C. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjmGT--mOvk&fmt=18 I think getting the route ready will take a little. Grunz is in charge of counting explosives and he found a few savers, but he's on vacation for one week. So next week then. :D

Oh ok good thinking there. So I think we have a few options: You can actually clone a bottle on an empty C-Slot but that would mean that you couldn't have an item there before or after creating as long as you want to use that bottle. That would lead to a lot of item switching so i think it's out of the question. Other: Great Fairy Mask: probably to long since we would need to watch the NCT introduction scene that we skipped in the first cycle Bremer Mask: If we play SODT at the beginning of cycle 2 that one should be pretty fast to get. Especially since the laundry pool doesn't have an introduction scene Kafeis Mask: Like you said one should also be pretty fast but I don't know when Madame Aroma is there. And the Bremer Mask should be slightly faster. Gibdos Mask: You can glitch into the building and play song of healing. Still laundry pool should be faster. Deku Stick: You could overwrite them and buy them back later. But that would require money and buying 4 sticks probably takes more time than jsut getting the Bremer Mask.

Would it be worth trying to grab a different item to replace instead of the bow? Pick up a magic bean, maybe, or a convenient mask? I can't remember if the current route calls for firing normal arrows at any point without having wiped out your magic meter first (i.e. for the ST boss).
We never need the bow that's why picking up an extra item would only cost us time. The only time we need arrows is Odolwa (that's before changing the bow into a bottle) and twinmold (that's done with empty magic and fire arrows).
What happens if you dupe a bottle to a bottle? I assume from your last bit (trying to dupe eggs) that the contents don't get transferred.
Like it was said in the post above. You'll end up with one empty bottle and one with the item. handy as you'll still have the item and get the money for it but it can't duplicate something.
Can you do a similar trick other times you're prompted for items? For example, when giving medicine to Koume (or is it the other sister?)? Or is the curiosity shop special in some way?
That's actually not a bad idea. Would be worth a try... But it's probably not going to be worth it in any run. You can only do it once and then she's off. Since we need 4 bottles we would have to go to the curiosity shop later anyway...

Yeah MM is a pain. But it's probably still it :p Think about it. The rom in the emulator runs in a fixed enviroment that never changes. Thus every input you make can be reproduced exactly through an input file. The emulator however runs on a computer. A lot of things change all the time. Maybe another programm takes slightly less resources than before or a windows function. Now the reset of Mupen takes a quater of a second longer and viola you have a desynch. And it will only get worse on different computers.

Well that sucks. It probably desynchs because it resets the emulator and not the rom, wich is probably the reason why we have the rule in the first place. If you reset the emulator you can't reproduce the result every time, let alone on different computers. But good to hear that everythign else works. I hope you get the rupee run through termina field hexed in. Good luck.

YES! A TAS of VJ on Ultra V-Rated would be so awesome! I mean I know only one person who ever played through Ultra V-Rated with all rainbow viewtifuls (shes an obsessed gamer, I couldn't get through "easy"). Seeing this TASed perfectly and super fast would be the best thing ever. And just in case you couldn't guess that already I think every TAS of this game should be made on Ultra V-Rated. Everything else would just be boring, even though you can kill the enemies faster on easy. Eternal Darkness I don't know how good of a TAS it would make but it's overall awesomeness should be enough to make it entertaining. Other than that ofcourse the GC-version of TP and the other usual suspects like all the Marios (Galaxy would be first on my list), Metroids, Pikmins etc.

Well flash video relies pretty heavily on CPU. It's really not very resource effective if you compare it to other codecs. And bandwith isn't really a problem with youtube since you can preload the videos...
