Then you probably stood on top of it every time. But you can knock it down from the side.

Why would you have to go back up? o.O You can just knock it down and stay up there...

Btw. for the 100% route: I know that in the curent route those two things are in completely different cycles, but I think it would be a really good idea to get from magic beans to lens of truth. Just plant the bean you get anyway and water it (water is there and before the boat ride you've gotten a bottle in any case), ride the bean to the chest, backflip on the chest, do 1-2 hovers, megaflip through the ceiling and get to lens of truth with 1-2 mageflips. that is extremely fast and explosive efficient.

No they always hit loading zones in unloaded grottos. Only the grotto you are in is loaded. But that's only the graphics. colission-data and loading zones are obviously there or else I couldn't walk or warp out. Btw. warping to Lens of Truth cave from magic beans works without a problem.

It's the mayors residence and you probably get there because it's map 0. You also get there when yo save at the fake owl in Clocktown. However it is a little strange that you can't move and normally this shouldn't happen. I should have come out in Trmina Field. A buffer overflow or something?

"So counting items that were there but aren't anymore is imo just stupid." You could just make every item into a bottle right before you finish the game, and complete it with however many items you want. :)
But every bottle counts as an extra item so that wouldn't reduce your total count. ;)

clock town to snowhead TAS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS0jpjyWsNg contains some new things, that might be useful for a run. maybe for low% MM this could be the way to get to snowhead I also improved the lullaby skip a bit
Nice one. You seem to have improved starting a HISS a little. You can't even tell the difference from starting a normal SS anymore. And the last part up to the snowhead entrance looks consideribly faster as in your last video entering snowhead. You don't wait for nearly as many snowballs. Btw. you should really write some pages for the Zelda Speedruns Site. Even I did one today: http://zeldaspeedrun.dreamhosters.com/mm/tech/brokenstick.php

Final Fantasy 7-9 Like some here in this thread I was somewhat skeptical if a FF-TAS would be entertaining, but then I saw GarlandGs TAS-ish run of FF7 and it kept me craving for more, so I would love to see a TAs of those games. ^^

Ah crap. I was pretty sure that it was going to work once someone was able to pull of the forest escape glitch. Well maybe there is a more convenient way to get OOB than the two that are currently known. Would be a nice thing to get the Chus from here instead of the spirit temple, even for MST... Btw. the problem is not that the bottom floor loads, but that the top floor unloads when you drop down. That unloads the water you normally use to swim up and the bobchu chest...

rüchtig! I have a new idea on how to get to the bomchu in the well. Though I really don't know if it's possible. I can't pull it off, but I'm probably the least skilled person here. :D If we fall through normal holes in the ground to the floor below we fall through a small loading zone, that loads the floor below and unloads the floor above. That's why the water we use to swim up to get to the chus is gone. Now if we were to drop down during a cutscene or something similar the top floor shouldn't get unloaded and we would be good to go to swim up again. My idea is to use the new forest escape glitch to do exactly this. Crawl-tubes are there, there is even one pretty close to a hole. The only problem is that Navi (who never shuts up under normmal circumstances) doesn't say a word here. So we can't use her to activate the glitch. I was thinking maybe one can target the green buble when it flies by or stun it, push it near to the crawl-tube, stun it again to do it. With a targeted green bubble we could bring up Navis enemy-explenation and use that to activate the glitch...

For it not to be faster it would have to take forever. o.O I'm not really familiar with hoovering in OoT, just MM and I believe it's somewhat slower and doesn't bring you as high, but it's not THAT slow. Just start somewhat down the coridor and use the hover backflips to keep up with the skulls path. If it is to fast stun it with Deku Nuts in between. I know it's much harder than I make it sound, but it should be possible, if you get high enough in general. With a moonjump the well would take less time than talking to that chatty Sage alone. Then take into account the rest of the child part and the fact that you could super slide through the desert if you got bombchus from the well and have the magic the first time you go there (you would sill go there as a child, but it would be the last thing you do) the well should come out far ahead. Btw. in low% time is secondary, isn't it? Wouldn't you be able to just get Zeldas Lullaby with a waking up Talon and then do the vine-clipping in the well? Or don't you get Zeldas Lullaby. But if not what are you going to do to skip the boat in the shadow temple? PS I wrote you two PMs.

Here's an idea how to get the chus from the well without Zeldas Lullaby, making it possible to skip the child-portion of the spirit tempel. I use a moonjump code at the first part, because I suck at hoovering, but a skilled TASer might be able to hoover up there using the floating skull as damage source (I just don't know if you would get high enough, but I sure hope so): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7Lb-dXWuYM&fmt=18

It's not a chore it's just that I wouldn't expect something like that there, so I wouldn't (and didn't) look. For the normal viewer it looks like a normal website so why would someone search around for a way to submit stuff? I think it has to be somewhere visible. And how the hell am I supposed to know that there is a specific Zelda channel on SDA? o.O I'm here since 30 pages ago and never once has that come up before. o.O

Well I'm not going to scroll all the way down on a page I think only contains update-news. Besides there is no information, that you search new contributers and how to crondibute. I don't mean to bitch, I just think it would be a good idea to make it more clear so that the site can grow faster. ^^ I for one have now idelt in the IRC-channel for a few days and have never seen cosmo. Is there any other way I can reach him? PM, email, messanger, smoke signs? :D

Ah that's good to know. ^^ Maybe you should write it on the page somewhere. I think especially now where you don't have that much content, that would be a good idea... I think I'll do a page on the broken deku stick and Wrong Warp Glitch. So I'll come to the irc channel later. ^^

Wow some of these things are really unexpected. I always thought it was the consensus in recent years that sidehopping is faster than backwalking. Guess that's not entirely true. And Zora swimming is not faster than backwalking? really? it seems so fast... Don't you gain speed when backwalking/sidehopping with the bunny ears? And backwalking is as fast as using them? Wow... In general I don't like this site very much, since only a hand full of people can contribute hence it takes forever to get some info on it (I would have liked a wiki where you can only post when you are registered better) but that is some usefull information!

With maps I meant temple maps, but after some reading I guess those don't disappear, too. whoops ^^" And I think it's absolutely okay to ban RBA or the skulltulla glitch from those runs (or say that items have to be obtained like the game designers intended), but to say that every trade-item counts as a seperate item, I mean come on. Like I said in this case you would also have to do the (hypothetical) longer trading route to get 100%. But I think in the end it's futile to discuss. Let's just agree that glitch-methods to get/delete items should be banned from those runs and agree to disagree on how items should be counted. ;)

In MST the slingshot isnt skipped, at least in the current route.
Afaik it is. Since the only place it was needed was to get the chus in the Spirit temple and it was discovered that you can hoover up to the switch.
Also anything that is even temporarily put into the inventory by RBA is counted as an item so I don't rlly see why people object to it.
See I can see the rule to not use RBA, but imo counting deleted items is crap. It's what's in your menu at the end that counts, not what was there in the meantime. Let's say there was a long and a short trading route that both end in getting the bigoron sword. Would that mean that you would have to use the long route to achieve 100%? No the goal is to have the bigoron sword, as fast as possible. For MM the 100% definition doesn't include keys, maps, etc. because those things vanish with a time travel. Are you saying that they should be collected anyway because even if they get deleted they count as x%? So counting items that were there but aren't anymore is imo just stupid.

The Deathwarp to skip the ZL cutscene, and being able to use chus to skip Talon saves time. But if the death warp could be done with the slingshot bomb, well chus might save enough time.
ZL cutscene? Talon Skip is a good point. I didn't think about that. Is there any other way to skip him besides having explosives. Because otherwise youll have to have a hatched Cuco and that would take forever. Btw. I'm pretty sure that there wont be a new run untill there is reset recording, so death warps could just be substitutet with save warps...

OK looked over it. There is one question I just have to ask. I guess it's probably been answered before and I'm just missing something huge, but why not just get the Bomchus from the bottom of the well after getting Zeldas Song and letter? It's near to Dodongos cavern so the way to Kakariko shouldn't be a waste and the well should be faster than the child portion of the Spirit Temple (mostly due to not having that chatty Sage blocking the entrance). Furthermore you could SS/ISS through the desert, which should save a bucketload of time and you don't have to come back to plant the magic bean, as you can do this part as the last thing you do as a child...

So I guess the time doesn't suffice to get the sword out... But where do we have the extra Chu from all of a sudden?

Yeah, I fail to see why so much time is being wasted setting up a slower fight; what's wrong with supersliding to the mask after Goht dies?
1. my fight just showed the idea I played it non-TAS 2. it is about 1-2 seconds faster to use a SS into the cutscence ;)
But we waste a bombchu that could save us 5 seconds at the bridges before wizrobe... SL, maybe you could get a SS to work in the time the arrow flies? I mean it't you TAS. ;) We should really know it when we enter Snowhead to know how much explosives we need where...
