I have, and I've tried, and I've helped with some testing for blob before and some other things, but ultimately I found the curve to be highly proficient to be higher than what I have the time for and I chose to focus on other things more important in my life. And yes I agree it would be great if I was highly proficient with in game OoT TASing and could give everyone the definitive proof they need to see to accept anything beyond idiocracy. I know many close minded people would love to see me leave, which is why I've given them the perfect opportunity to see that happen. My suggestion which they've so blatantly dismissed as idiocracy, I am putting on the line. So it's time they put their OoT speedrunning existence where their mouth is or stop talking.

I completely agree, but sometimes kids need to be taught a lesson once for all they will never forget. They've been cluttering these forums for far too long and it's time they leave once and for all with their troll tails between their troll legs. I am not a guy to be taken lightly, and I think I've proven that and many can attest for that. If you've ever known someone more determined than me I'd love to meet them.

Something tells me you don't what it means, hint it's not remedial spelling mistakes in informal communication. Try searching "internet libel lawsuit" in google, and then in an acclaimed law school's archive. And how many Technical Communication classes have you taken btw? ("btw" is not spelling mistake in informal communication) I'm guessing you are announcing to the entire community that you are a faceless coward troll as well? So it seems Pheenoh and qwerty have let it be known to the community how cowardly and troll-like they are, sit behind their parent's computer, libeling away with ad hominems and senseless, indecent, rhetoric about how my suggestion is obviously a waste of time and you're going ignore me because of it. I issue you an ultimatum and you back off in your own cowardly way of trolling and snide remarks. Could you at least go back to twitch and stay there with your tail between your legs and ignore me like you kept saying you would (I guess you don't keep to your word either)? There are intelligent people that use this forum which would like continue productive conversation, you've clearly proven to the community you aren't one of these such people.

I know a couple of you people love to libel me as some poor guy that's always wrong; I guess the history lesson and success of my speedrunning ideals aren't getting through, but I digress. Slowking seems have come to logic and reason, but the rest of you that said you were going to ignore me, could you please ignore me like you keep posting in the forum saying you were doing instead of cluttering the forum further more with libel and senseless close minded rhetoric. I've always done my best to keep the discussion open minded and productive with the ultimate goal of systematically and objectively finding the fastest strategy possible. I'll continue to do this with sensible users like slowking, mrgrunz, sockfolder, and cosmo. If you are in phennoh's camp and can't handle this line of reason, please don't reply to my posts, you like said you would...
But couldn't we simply beat the rest of the game (after buying Shield and Stick right before Deku Tree) with one Deku Stick? You can kill Gohma and Ganon using ISG. You can Mega Flip instead of jumpslashing in Deku Tree to skip B1. We get Slingshot now anyway, so no need to get Deku Nuts. Of course, you can't use a lot of timesavers here and there, so unfortunately, it should be damn close.
I still think it's likely -1 to 15 seconds faster. The small sword tricks save very minimal amount of time ~9s (3s in river, 3s cuccos, and maybe ~3s before in fall before ghoma) compared to the ~29s or w/e saved from skipping sword. Slowking makes a good studious point about the stick text differences, ~4.5s. So maybe it's more like, -5.5s to 10.5s faster. **EDIT** I would care to issue an ultimatum. If this doesn't turn out faster I will cease ALL activity related to Oot speedruns and TASes for 10 years. If it does turn out faster all my doubters, libelers, and close minded non-productive people to the community will cease ALL activity related to OoT speedruns and TASes for 10 years. This includes IRC, ANY forum, ANY online stream site, ANY video hosting site such as http://www.youtube.com/, http://zeldaspeedruns.com/ http://speeddemosarchive.com/, and ANY internet relay chat, voice, or video such as AIM, ICQ, Skype, google chat, MSN, yahoo chat, Roger Wilco, Ventrilo, ect.; so long as the activity has any relevance to OoT speedruns and TASes. IP addresses and locations will be tracked, no new accounts will be made. It is a cease and desist and we can work out a legal binding document. In 10 years the losing parties can return as normal as wiser more open minded individuals and work cooperatively together. You can either accept this and be included in the legal document, or, apologize to me and say "I am sorry Mr. Piepho, it will never happen again and I'll be MUCH more open minded in the future", or let it be know to the entire community that you are a worthless coward and troll and will hopefully be ostracized by the community itself. If you choose the latter I will also file internet libel lawsuits against you, and you can see how well connected to University of Washington School of Law I am, as well as meet me in court or settle. You have 3 choices, choose wisely.

Are you just assuming that, or is there good evidence complete with semi-accurate timings to support that margin of victory is greater than margin or error? This reminds me last time I tried show everyone swordless was faster. Let's not blindly assume things until some math has been done please.
There's no point in timing it because it's obviously much slower. The only reason no one has objected this is because they're ignoring you.
That's exactly what everyone said about swordless for the ~40 minute strategy, including MrGunz. I proved it was faster by a decent margin, MrGunz took note and peer reviewed my work (my work being 1st grade math and few youtube videos, 5-10 minutes of work, an open mind and some basic logic) and confirmed I was in fact completely right. That's exactly what everyone said about bean skip to get up to gauntlets in desert temple. I argued bomb hover would be faster and showed the 1st grade math to prove it. Years later people figured out I was right all along. So here were are, same situation, I'm not quite able to get very accurate estimates since there aren't any good videos for a couple of the off route detours for getting the sticks, and there's large tree possible strategies with subtly differences. But it shows something like 7s faster with a 8s margin of error, so likely between -1 and 15s faster. MrGunz, wiser this time, never dismissed this possibility from the start and has been peer reviewing my work and seems be finding similar preliminary results. Historically it's been proven closed minds are counter productive to speedrunning and don't serve the community. Open minds, 1st grade math, and basic logic is how you plan good speedruns.

a lot the juggles require somewhat precise timing, and spacing, need to dash or move forward in between hits often. In the first combo I think you can do his DF + RK,LK to hit on the ground at the end. After yosh's leg launch, I know you can do the standing suicide, maybe with a dash away you could somehow connect with the dashing suicide.

I'm somewhat surprised you didn't notice there was a thread already: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1173 Also, here is another thread for the 32X version, which seems to be the preferred edition: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=215019
I guess the problem is the current search function doesn't seem to parse titles, or have any way to do so... :(

I wrote out the approximate math a few posts, it's really not that complicated to get nearest 1s approximations from current videos. Verdict was swordless seemed faster by notable amount. No one found any flaws or significant time un-accounted for. Mr. Grunz seemed to agree it was likely faster as well.

Awesome, I thought those rocks could be used in some to help getting down. There were videos a long time ago of using bombs to get down in a similar fashion. So if it has to be redone starting from deku tree, why not also do the swordless method. Time it out if you need to, but it certainly should save a notable amount of time compared to getting sword.

Close to finding any more glitches? Post some videos if you can, even it's useless now, could inspire people and spawn new ideas, get more followers and eventually contributors.

Finishing the fight with LP, RP, LP, LK, not comboed looked pretty lame. A play around can't afford to have parts that dull when it's possible to put something more unusual, entertaining, and/or impressive in. It should always give the impressive it's being played by something notably better than the world's best player.

I kind of liked the force mode when I played it, I remember thinking it'd make a decent speedrun or TAS. I'd be curious to see how some the different characters compare in tactics and time. For play around I'd have to say I need to see more unlikely and ridiculous combos and moves. There's a bunch of tekken3 combo videos around played in real time, need to see some stuff at least as large and entertaining as those.

I'm somewhat surprised there's no TAS or thread for this. So here's a thread. This is a great game I only played once when I was younger in a hotel room, I rented it on demand from the hotel for an hour back when that was popular, sad hotels don't have that anymore. Here's a review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-QXBTHR-_k

Sorry for the bump. I have a question for TASers of Metroid, regarding the last door in the game. I noticed that sometimes you can walk through the door just as it materializes (without shooting it), therefore advancing to the final room slightly faster. I was wondering if it's known what causes this behavior. Thanks.
I believe it's as simple as your position when the door ent is set to positive.

Ya pretty much what bkDJ said. I'd trust that these 2 guys are right 99%, but even if it's 100% that's not the point. We need to know more precisely what is going wrong, not only for accurate definitive proof to prevent the site from being murky with emulation accuracy and policy, but also to help get a fix for the inaccuracy.

what's the fastest form of movement?is there anyway you can do that combovideo stuff with 2 characters where one shoots the fire ball, they both run faster than the fireball in order to take the hit later and perform some kind of combo?
Faster form of movement would be the Tatsumaki. Seeing how slow the fireball is. I'm almost certain what you said could be pulled off.
I know the easiest and maybe only way to do this in WW or HF, is timing the fireball to appear just behind them when they get up from knock down, then either move forward and FP, or tatsu, character with wider hit boxes makes it easier, or if they attack into you after wake up and extend a hit box to you. You want the distance to be right too.

I'm pretty sure it's the last door on the exterior, but I'm not sure it'd be worth the time to get chus in Any%, and MST would just do it normally anyway.
Well if it's the door at 15:28 here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5THTOYdbtDY that'd save around 1:47, I think the chus take around 2:00, but you'd also have to unlock the slingshot door which I think takes over 30s, you skip all ruby collecting though and buy w/e. if it's the door at 15:59, which I doubt, it'd be around 2:03 saved. Either way I think it'd have to be without chus to save time, such as with shield blocking falling rocks or some other yet to be conceived shenanigans. I'd don't suppose DC method has been found, using starcase for tower door trigger, getting 18 some extra bombs for tower door trick and SSs, sword steal, would be interesting.

They're not permanent changes. At least I know the stairs aren't. Apparently the Deku ladder links to a random door in the escape exterior when you do ganondoor, iirc, but it can't save time... except maybe if you could somehow get down there and go in that open door. Apparently there are no other temp flags in deku, sad. Possible you could open some more useful doors or skip the collapse cutscene. A list of every temp flag ever would be nice to have, lol.
Which door is it? If it's the last one that could save some major time, I know you can go down by getting hit by a bomb before landing, maybe a bombchu too. Might be a way to fall and get pushed back from shield blocking a falling rock into the door before landing, not sure when the game warps you back.

I'd be shocked if swordless wasn't faster. The main benefits to sword are less rupees and stick collecting. Getting the extra rupees is <10s and the sticks <8s. The WESSes in river and cucco you lose about 3s each. I'd expect swordless to be about 10s faster. People tend to vastly overestimate how much time small sword tricks save and how much time collecting extra rupees takes as was the case with swordless old route which most said was obviously slower yet turned out to be over 10s faster.

Well you just compare times from 2 videos, anyone can do it if they don't believe me, it's quite easy and no secret. Gunz has even said he TASed the stick route and it was 30s faster, so even better. Again, your posts add no value and are clutter, please stop. I don't suppose you could use the half-broken stick glitch instead of buying more sticks. What are the limitation of this glitch. pretty sure this would be fastest for the 60r after the first stick 5r platform 2r gass 5r before vines 39r river (get 20r) 3r rock 5r platforms 59r 1r more maybe in river detour, or get the 5r in shop
