IMO the TAS should be on Dolphin (VC version). No idea how well it runs though.
^^, Also there's a new trick which uses stick on B, you equip sword the same time you swing bottle to get bugs I believe. Using this with Lon Lon route is how the new RTS WRs are archived now, it might even be faster than tektite. ZFG just got 49:02 with over a minute of mistakes, not mention other possible improvements like nuts from trees.

you need the egg to hatch so waiting for day is sort of necessary using LonLon route
So is there anything else you might be able to do during this time that is done in non-time changing areas, like getting bugs/fish/rubbees, or even something like getting rubbees from direct pickup instead of a chest? And does child time transfer to adult or is it reset to a certain time?

Not sure how much faster Tektite is than Lon Lon if you could it make it to KV before night after second Lon Lon. That would save 90s up to KV, it would turn night in mountain trail right away, but I'm not sure if that would matter, it might just be a few seconds delay somewhere waiting for it turn back to day. You can do an aqua slide on the first trip to lon lon from KV, not sure what else, it might be enough.

So, any% route has major change now. RTS record is already 52:56, and that's without using Tektite Hover. There's probably some other things too that speed it up. I'm not sure how much tektite hover saves, but around 2 minutes I believe.

The difference is VC is a console, while something done with a PC doesn't have the same standardize hardware. It's not about whether it's the same as N64, it's clearly not, neither is GC, the new hand held version. It is however a console with it's own category that is the same for everyone. This isn't a TAS matter either.

I'm usually for new categories, the only downside is you have slightly more clutter, but that's not a problem for any of us which understand what the different categories will entail. I think any time you use a glitch to skip end credits instead of activating the end credits the intended way should warrant a new category. I'd make this a universal rule of speedrunning.

Hey all, I'm trying to sell this 6Gv2 I got for Christmas. In perfect condition, used for 1 month, then found out about MX red switches and 75% keyboards and ordered a Noppoo Choc Mini. Just thinking the Noppoo is a better keyboard for gaming when I return to the scene. They all just come from trying to find the best peripherals for myself. Item: Price including shipping ($) Steek Series 6Gv2 ~90 Black Widow keyboard (vanilla) ~80 Ikari laser mouse ~55 CM spawn storm mouse ~40 Fatal1ty mouse ~40 All have original packaging and are in full like-new working condition. I'll sign them for $3 however you want, and draw any picture however you want for $20 PM if interested

Ya, something happened to the videos I recorded. I think maybe when I record too long and the file goes over a certain size, like 200GB, it kills the file and makes it a void file. Cause my recordings aren't there but just 2 0KB files, other recordings I stopped early are there though.

Cool, anyone going to make a cut-scene free edit? I think a little bit too much stuff was edited out of the any% run, like running into and shop, getting 5r and talking to shop guy, and crawling through the tunnel. Felt a bit awkward. Also anyone have anything to say about the my Sword Skip time difference theory math?
The aqua slide after KV takes about 8s and running back the other way takes about 10+3 for the bridge, so 5s saved there. There's only 3 places where cuccos are hit and two of them are right after they were thrown. So one would be picking it up and throwing it instead of hitting it, the other 2 would be walking forward a little more before throwing. So that'd be about 3s difference if a thrown cucco would work same as a hit one. In this RTS, he goes down ZR with no boosts in 35s, make that a TAS and it'd be about 32s, In the TAS mrgrunz just posted it takes about 27.5 with the sword boosts. So that's 4.5s saved. So skipping sword initially saves 25s, then costs 4.5s going down ZR, then 3s collecting cuccos, then 8s KF slide. So sword skip saves about 25-(4.5+3+5)= 12.5s. This is not exact but unless there's something big that's not being taking into account it certainly seems skipping the sword is faster.
The main thing I'm worried about is the difference between cucco throwing and slashing. Unless that's way off I can't see the sword being faster.

I've love to see a x-men run for gens, I'm not sure if resetting was ever added to the emu yet though. You could always make the run in two parts though, and hex together.

Well a way to help start on any% would be either finding or making a video of the sword going down zora's river. I heard it was made but various attempts to find on youtube turned fruitless and the the person I heard it from hasn't posted it so, perhaps it's a myth. This video would be very nice to figure which route is faster.

Okay, so I got vdub working and some more codecs working for it, and uploaded some videos I've been meaning to upload for awhile. I'm going to try to get around to some TMNT videos tonight.

really, where's that, I looked before and Looked again I don't see it anywhere on youtube or in his channel. I would be a great video and might be able to figure whether sword skip is faster. "The aqua slide after KV takes about 8s and I think aquad-slide is about twice as fast as side hops, So there's about 8s saved with that one. There's only 3 places where cuccos are hit and two of them are right after they were thrown. So one would be picking it up and throwing it instead of hitting it, the other 2 would be walking forward a little more before throwing. So that'd be about 3s difference if a thrown cucco would work same as a hit one. So if I'm right, it seems the 3 slides in zora's river would have to save about 14s for the sword way to be faster, 25-(8+3)=14. In this RTS, he goes down ZR with no boosts in 35s, make that a TAS and it'd be about 30s, so the TAS of ZR would need to be about 16s for sword to be faster. Does this sound about right?"

That was cool, you should do one for sword route going down river, be neat to see and useful for run planning, short and sweet too.

I'd like to see this, Tastosis, the e-sports casting archon, mention this game a lot.

If you're still on horrible x-men games and gen supports resets, the genesis x-men game would be great, it's packed full of glitches and shoddy programming.

Coming soon, you'll shit your pants. It's just a lot more trouble than I thought getting compression and cropping for youtube videos. Lost all my video editing software after a reformatting. I've recorded a great video where I'm talking while playing, there's a little glare though. There's some other glitches which might useful but need some type of bot or more code peering to see if they can be useful.

No major shortcuts would be quite lame imo, I'd rather just watch the current time trails WRs for RTS, they at least display impressive RT human skill, and combined 10s of thousands of man hours or work. Watching someone do the same with with TA in a few hours of work to get .17s better lap times or 10s of thousands of hours of work to get .22s better lap times has nothing novel or interesting to it. I'd rather see a couple hundred hours of work to see something like nothing else I'd ever get to see otherwise. Ya a few of tracks aren't too much different than RTS repeating a glitch 3 times, but there's a lot of them with crazy item and CPU manipulation and frame precision to do ridiculous shortcuts not otherwise possible without TA.

So it seems the wall jump is only because the game allows you to push yourself into walls for an instant.

No, you can fall down to the last loading zone from the castle, so you skip almost every room except the last one before ganon I think. And you wouldn't have to activate to wait for zelda.

you mean after ganondorf, just getting behind a wall and falling to the loading zone of the castle collapse scene?
Exactly, it's been proven to work with hover hack to fall under and go inside the castle.
