Its runs like these which are the reason I watch TASes (that and the fact i've actually played the game). The battles are seriously great work (and the stratagy to get the Dwarven Sword well before schedule was good too). I've got an interesting question. Do anger explosions stack?

IIRC the scoring is baised toward Tetris which would make it similar to the Tetris run (except with Mario and Rad Racer beforehand)

Wouldn't this technically be segmented (hint:note how the score changes...and also Brinstar clearly being a composite picture :() and also done by multiple people (read the credits)? This is SS would be sheer madness (namely because if your playing it at 1 frame at a time thats allot of time...). Still a cool movie worth watching...I remember seeing this when only the first level was done and yes even that took a few hours...

Can close call misses be manipulated? If so... Power Rush, Mega Rush and Close call would be a neat combo +6 attack plus avoid anything...plus Mario would always be on 1HP...(so Peril status shows up). Thats about the only idea I can come up with. It won't save the time of you walking or anything but it should help with battles and what to spend level ups on (since you'll want to be at 1HP ASAP) so its probably not that usful.

I randomly stumbled upon a rather interesitng Japanese page. http://ultimagarden.net/square-enix_ta.html It seems they have times people have beat varios Square-Enix RPGs in...also some of these games appear to have have stratagies attached Good news is Star Ocean has a nice time (1 hour 54 minutes 47 seconds at the last savepoint) but also one of these stratagy things (doesn't look in depth, I think it only tells you what items to get and what times to get...).

Shinryuu: it would seem that Snes9x has higher compatibility, since it can emulate the hardware chip of Star Ocean properly. Zsnes still uses graphic packs. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the cause.
What? ZSNES hasn't needed the graphics packs since 1.40...Doesn't help matters though :S Shinryuu, nice to see someone making a start.

I've been thinking about this run and i've got a question. Is it possible to manipulate random encounters and captures? If so couldn't the player capture the legendry Dogs as early as possible in order to give themselves a very powerful team...it may save time but will it be entertaining? Also, where is the end point...beating the Elite 4 (plus champion) or beating Red?

This is one of those games where the rules "start from scratch" and "play at the hardest" conflict. Which is a bit of a shame (and also you can't have the units move about super-quick which would speed things up in the enemy turns). And I must say this terrible joke, you sure made Ketchup of Heintz... As for chapter 8, this might be a good map to make effective use of Nils to transport units about the map more efficiently. But for the most parts its probably going to be one a man army. And think about who goes where and to do what. Remember Soldiers do show up from those forts. If you manage to beat the map before they turn up then great (I can't' remember when they turn up...) Anyway i'm sure you'll manage to find a quick way through. Chapter 9 should be fun due to the fog of war. I would probably have Florina pick up Lyn and dance about (noth Nils and avoiding units) to the boss where Lyn is dropped off. I seem to recall the same could be done for Chapter 10. You've pulled through so far so i'm sure you'll still do good.
