Just thought I'd post saying I was able to watch it all as well now. Good find, DaTeL. Frigate and Surface 2 looked great, especially the part where you shot through the tree. At least it looked that way. Great job.

That was great. I especially liked how quickly the first room in 5-2 was. I also laughed at the rapid menu movements when you were selecting the secret chapter. :) I seriously can't wait to see some of these secret chapters TASed. They were so bloody frustrating in real time. Not to mention that timed level at the very end.

It freezes at the very start of Frigate using those settings. Perhaps another plugin could be used...? Or does it only synch with Rice?

Yay. :] Downloading/uploading to YouTube as we speak. Will post the link here as soon as it's ready. EDIT: Here's the link. It's not live yet, so it won't work for a while, but here it is for when it does work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQP00_EVngU EDIT: Live now. :]

Grunz: I'm not bothered at all. It's good to have something to compare to when I actually TAS that part. ;) Slowking: That's an excellent idea about the rupees. And yes, I'll be posting regular WIPs, at least until a certain point, maybe halfway through or something. I'll be starting it soon, maybe tonight. EDIT: Grunz: I noticed your number of deku sticks didn't go down on the first three hits in the Wizrobe battle. Does this mean I won't have to collect as many sticks in Woodfall? EDIT 2: I wonder if we could set up a superslide right before killing Goht, so that we could roll into the bomb right before the last arrow hit and superslide over to the mask during the cutscene. No idea if this will work, it's just a theory. We should look into it, though.

I actually love you. As promised a few months ago, I'll put this masterpiece on my YouTube channel as soon as an AVI/MKV is available. Good job. ^_^ Perfect 10 for entertainment, 9.5 for technical.

The route looks solid. Good work, all of you. Just one question, though... Are you sure it would be fastest to get the 2 rupees when we become Deku Link? I think it's faster to get them at the very start of the game, as it only takes about a second to cut a plant and they're directly on the sidehopping path. It's also possible to "cut" the plants by rolling through them, but neither me nor Bloob (who I asked to test) could get more than 1 rupee doing this (I was able to get a blue rupee by cutting the plant).

Slowking: That should definitely be faster. It would take maybe 1 second to get two rupees at the start of the game, but by doing this, we skip 7 screen transitions. Of course, this can only be done if we definitely only need around 200 rupees. Also, I haven't ever been able to manipulate red rupees in the field, but it should be doable with blues, as tedious as it'll be.

That was bloody brilliant, Grunz. :) Also, why does everyone call it "megaflip" while calling the other trick "superslide"? How inconsistent. Either make megaflip "superflip" or make superslide "megaslide". It's obvious which one of those sounds better. >_>

Alright, here it is: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K6EAJKD0 I took the bomb out 3 frames before moving Link at all. While this obviously isn't necessary here, it's how it works when you've just entered an area (in other words, it lets you use items 3 frames before it lets you move). Before rolling, I shield for 13 frames. You should do this as late as possible. 13 frames is the lowest number you can shield at the latest time and still have it work. The infinite superslide (>_>) stuff at the end was just for fun.

Um... Why did you even ask if you were just going to do it anyway? >_> It would be easier for me to just give you an m64/st with a perfect backwalk superslide in it, because it's extremely difficult to put it into words, so I'll post it here shortly.

oh, and swordless, I thought about doing a snowhead with goron mask TAS. should I do it or shouldn't I do it to keep the "WTF" factor for your TAS? With Goron Mask? You mean like the one that was in my old WIP before I restarted (only with superflips and such)? Go ahead.

I'm totally against this way of beating woodfall temple, because it rips the "WTF" of leaving woodfall temple and watching the fairy cutscence isn't really interesting. While it's less "WTF", it will still be done if it's faster. No time will be sacrificed for the sake of "entertainment" in this run. :)

Don't worry about me, I'll redo as many times as is required to get the best run we can get here. I don't have to like it, but I have to do it. :P But yes, I'm not actively working on it at all until we've got a solid route.

what's going on with swordless? does he still want to do the TAS or did he lost the motivation, because he had to restart so many times already? While my motivation is regularly shattered, I definitely do want to finish this run. I'm just waiting until you're done looking for these things before I seriously get started again, just in case. That GBT method is great, BTW.

petrie, did you take into consideration how much slower it is to do only superflips over a gap, instead of one superflip and the rest as bombchu hovers? :/

The original person who discovered it (BrianMp16 with Nayru's Love; I think? Correct me if wrong) A common misconception. Originally, GuanoBowl found the method without Nayru's Love, long before BrianMp16 found the Nayru's Love method, and from what I understand, it was named "superflip" when he found it (probably to fit in with "superslide"). The Nayru's Love method is called "megaflip", but the normal one is called "superflip".

Sure. It's really simple, actually. To do it, stand still, and press Z for 3 frames. Then release it (without touching the analogue stick) for 9-15 frames (it seems somewhat random, probably due to lag), then hold the direction you want to face for three frames, and start holding Z again. That should do it.
