Works for me. Looks nice. And it's "superflip", dammit. >_>

Just FYI, it's much slower to just do superflip hovers instead of normal bombchu hovers. The best way to do it is one superflip, then the rest of it with bombchus. Just mentioning this in case it affects the number of bombchus we need to buy.

At Comicalflop's request, I'm going to upload the run to my YouTube channel. I'll post the link here later so that it can be added to the publication page. EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuksiuibHkw

As long as you don't upload any of my work (or anyone else's work who doesn't want it uploaded), I don't care. You should always get permission from the author before doing it. It's just rude otherwise.

Thanks petrie, I have it working now. To anyone wondering, to make it work, you have to release the analogue stick (or hold it in another direction (this means super sidehopping is also possible in MM)) immediately after backflipping. Here's a little something I did with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWa0DEtNEV4

I can't get the superflip to work... Any hints? And could you upload the m64 and st you did it with, if that'll help?

the good thing is, that the any% category is pushed to it's limits now, so you don't have to be frightend, that there will be new major thinks discovered This has been said so many times by now that I know it's a lie.

I haven't finished the first cycle yet. I'm doing the second of three field trips. Since this is like the fifth f'ing time I'm doing it, I have next to no motivation.

You know, I think when people said they didn't want camera rattling, they didn't mean you should replace it with the camera error sound... Other than that, looks very nice.

Yep, tested that, and some other things in this WIP so far. Talking to grandma was over 2000 frames faster than dancing with Pierre five times (and that's without including the ECT introduction cutscene). The other "major" difference is when I get the fairy. Instead of going to ECT from the northern SCT entrance, I go from the southern one, grab the fairy, go into the inn, get the chest, out the top door, over the fence to Link's left, and into NCT. Of course, if going to the field is faster after all, this won't matter. :P EDIT: This method is faster regardless. Entering NCT from the field skips the introduction scene (and it also doesn't start when exiting the Fairy Fountain). And as far as I know, I won't be coming back to NCT in this run. ^_^

Okay, I'll finish up the first cycle today then. How many rupees are we getting on this cycle again? It keeps changing. EDIT: Depending on how many rupees we need, it might be faster to skip the chest in the inn. This would save 2 screen transitions and the chest opening sequence. Possible routes for this are... 1. ECT -> NCT -> ECT -> Termina Field -> WCT -> SCT -> ECT -> Termina Field -> WCT -> SCT -> ECT -> Termina Field -> WCT 2. ECT -> Termina Field -> NCT -> SCT -> WCT -> SCT -> ECT -> Termina Field -> WCT -> SCT -> ECT -> Termina Field -> WCT Same number of transitions, but I reckon 2 is faster. In 2, the first field visit would be a small one, and wouldn't get 99, just enough to make complete the collection (the other two runs would both be 99).

That's extremely irritating, but it's not worse than having my lullaby skip go to waste, so I'll just do it and deal with it.

To clarify: We're getting the rest of the 270 rupees from the field (after getting the chest in the inn), right? I'm about to go on the rupee run, but I can't remember if we decided that the Deku Playground was better.

That was pretty good, but I think your Bob-omb King battle is improvable (pretty sure RZ found a faster way to grab him later on). Also, you should try using the first cannon you unlock to reach the second cannon. I'm not sure if that's faster, but it seems like it might be.

Great job. You should consider encoding the final product when it's done. Your encodes are perfect, and Jabo 1.6 looks exactly the way I want it to on your video card (which is crucial, and I'll make this very clear in the submission text).

Are we absolutely positive that skipping the Goron Mask is the best choice? This is the only thing I'm still not 100% sure about. If we're positive it's faster to skip it, I'll get back to work on this immediately, using petrie's route.

Time for an minor update. I've redone the start of the game (again), and saved even more time. In the area where we first gain control of Link, I saved 3 frames by straining the angle more inwards before the exit. This got him into the transition area earlier. In the second Deku Link room, I saved 6 frames by doing the initial sidehops while facing the other way. This allowed for a quicker turn at the corner. In the room with the dead tree, I saved 132 frames, using a new strat which involves jumping over the gap, eliminating the need for the deku flower. And before anyone asks, the text was necessary. If I didn't listen to the text, I wouldn't have had enough running distance to do a spin and subsequently get enough speed to clear the gap. Both Bloob and I tested this extensively. In the Happy Mask Man room, I saved 18 frames with better angle management on the rails. Finally, I used a reset on entering Clock Town. This skips the entire South Clock Town introduction scene. You can see it in action here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ix6HQQ5coc Here's the m64: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/73153645/Redoing%20for%20the%20millionth%20f%27ing%20time.m64 To watch this m64, you'll need the antids version of Mupen, which I've conveniently uploaded in case anyone doesn't have it. Extract the exe and put it in your Mupen folder, and run it from there. Oh, and make sure you use Jabo 1.6 and the TAS input plugin to ensure that it synchs. Antids Mupen: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=M0CECCU6 Enjoy!
