Really? The people whose opinions matter to me seem to think it was justified.

Everything. Edit: Well not really. I don't even know why I hate him, but I do. Of course, that is other than the things he has done to me, such as spoil our first 0 star run to everyone and such.
I haven't done anything to you which you didn't deserve. The only reason I spoiled your first 0 star run was because you were a jerk to me about minuscule improvements over my run. You deserved it.

The hypocrisy, it burns! How about you let the child fight his own battles? You two are so far up each other's asses you're coming out each other's mouths.

Gentlemen, I think this has gone too far. It has been suggested before that any unresolved issues should be handled via pm. I suggest to change both of your signatures to "ease" a bit the situation. Also, its christmas and all, so lets try to at least make the final days of 2008 free of arguments.
I'll stop arguing for now, but it's purely because it's a chore talking to these people.

Nope. You can't prove that that was the reason I put it in. Especially since I already mentioned the actual reason, and you have nothing to disprove that. But in your case, it's glaringly obvious to anyone that your intention was to make me look bad.

Mine is a funny IRC quote. I would've put that up regardless of who said it. You, on the other hand, only put that there to make me look bad. Not that it works, since any intelligent person who reads it will hopefully realise that it's completely out of context...

This new route talk is depressing. I'm dying to get to work on this, but oh well, I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end. Here's an unreleased part of my old WIP, before I decided to restart. It covers most of Snowhead Temple. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoE01NAAZ2U Differences from Mukki's run I used a glitch to get inside of the block at the start, and thus don't have to push it. The text is unavoidable. At the scarecrow, I use a different, faster way of targetting. This involves pulling out the item before pressing Z. It saves a LOT of time. Bloob showed me this. At the bomb(chu) hover, I do it in one less bombchu. Since I have one to spare, I use it to blow up the first snowball, which saves a bit of time. Rather than punching the other snowball, I pound it. This is faster than punching. And thanks to letting go of A on a certain frame, I was able to regain control much quicker after it. At the start of the second Wizzrobe battle, I take off the Goron Mask right before the cutscene starts. This meant that he pulled it off during the cutscene, and therefore saved time as I didn't have to halt the battle to pull it off after the cutscene. In the second Wizzrobe battle, I use a jumpslash instead of a fire arrow for the final hit. This didn't cost any time, but it saved a bit of magic. :D Improvements which will be in the redo I found that it's possible to hookshot all the way up to the top without using the scarecrow first. This will save a shit ton of time, since it means skipping the Scarecrow's Song completely. Proof: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lSKninU1cjw Both Wizzrobe battles could be manipulated to have him start at better positions. However, the time taken to make this happen made it ultimately slower (it only saved 3 frames (1 visual frame) per battle). --- Enjoy.

General Observation: Couldn't that new turn-able super slide save gobs of time? Not as much as you'd think. The infinite-superslide-from-superflip that I posted earlier should save a fair bit of time, though. 1. I already posted about this, but you don't need the Cuckoo to get by the waterfall to the Zora Domain Bloob didn't know this when he was doing that part of the run, but he did consider going back and doing it, then hexing the rest in, but I told him it would never work, so he scrapped that idea. 2. When getting past the Zora king guy, why was a superflip necessary? It is possible to get into that wall with a corner swordslash which, due to not having to wait for the bomb to blow up, may be faster I didn't know it was possible to jumpslash through there, but that would almost certainly be faster. 3. In the Forest temple, why was a super slide not used at the beginning of the 4 ghosts scene in the main room with the elevator? I know I've seen videos of getting into the elevator, why not slide into the middle of the room? (not the elevator) The only way to superslide there involves Nayru's Love (which we wouldn't have) and using a bombchu in the previous room, so that the bomb explodes faster. It also means you go straight into the lift and therefore can't get the Fairy Bow, which is needed to beat the boss. 4. When battling the Stalfos, there is significant slowdown when delivering the final blow. Is it possible to deliver that blow with something from a distance, like a bomb, to avoid the slowdown? I noticed the lag there too. I'm sure Bloob tried to avoid it as best as he could. The only other thing I could think of, other than what you suggested, would be a rapid camera change after dealing the blow, so that the Stalfos wasn't in view.

I found that it's possible to do an infinite superslide after doing a superflip. Observe: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HC66DOQN EDIT: On YouTube now: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wby-Pk1My54

Well, frankly, after the way I was treated, I see no reason to be civil towards you. What I said at that video was payback for the crap you've said to me. (and before you bring it up, I know I said two wrongs don't make a right, but I wasn't intending it to be right afterwards)

1) I remember timing yours to be 10"17. I asked for it in frames. >_> 2) Please don't call me z0MG. Okay, "Johannes." 3) You blocked my old account for no reason, as well. Actually, I had good reason for that. You harassed me over MSN several times about minuscule improvements. I think that's a good enough reason to block you on YouTube, so that you couldn't also do it there. On the contrary, I've done nothing to you. And besides, two wrongs don't make a right.

z0MG, since you've, for some pathetic reason, blocked me on YouTube, I'll ask you here. How much does your Wild Blue star beat mine (the one in my 14:27 run) by (in frames)?

Gorgeous encode, like always. Does your graphics card have fog for Direct64? Because in cards which have that (like mine), Jabo 1.6 is perfect, but in cards which don't (like on my laptop), it's missing some things, like shadows. Your encode seemed to have those, so I was wondering what card you had, since I remember some of your previous OoT encodes having no fog, and you captured those with Direct64.

I found this run pretty entertaining. Platformer games often are. I've never played the game before, so I'm not sure how it is technically, but based on the author, I can safely say that he gave it his 100% best, so I imagine it's very optimal. :) I'll abstain from giving a technical rating, but would love to see this published.

Time for an update. As many of you will know, I've been redoing my run because of the recent discoveries involving the grotto glitch. Well, I've just finished the first cycle for the third time (I was already into the second cycle but found some improvements in the first, so I went back to redo them AGAIN) so I'll let you guys see how it's going so far. Before you watch, though, some notes on the improvements over my last public WIP... * In the very first section of gameplay, I use a slightly different strat which is 6 frames faster than the previously-used one. * I found a new method of backwalking, sort of... It involves holding the analogue at the opposite angle of the one used to angle the backwalk for a certain number of frames, then instantly switching to holding it fully back. For obvious reasons, this wouldn't be possible in real time, but when done optimally, it's sometimes faster than sidehopping. Such cases include the first Deku Link room and going into the Stock Pot Inn. * In the room with the Happy Mask Man, I use a new strategy. Bloob found this strat. It saves 24 frames over the old one. * Inside the Stock Pot Inn, I boosted off the girl on the stairs. * On the way to WCT, I backwalked instead of sidehopping. * After reaching the Night of the Final Day, I go into the field (by using a glitch in ECT to bypass the guard (this is NOT possible in any other part of town)) and collect a further 99 rupees. These will allow me to get the Adult Wallet on the second cycle (it was previously gotten on the third). * In SCT, while waiting for 12 AM, right before 12 AM, I do a spin in front of the Clock Tower. I previously just did this for entertainment value, but this time, I did it in such a way that Link's line of vision would be parallel to the wall. This meant that I didn't have to angle him for the sidehop, which saved 3 frames. * I've switched from Direct64 to Jabo 1.6. As far as I can tell, it emulates this game perfectly. The reason I didn't previously use it is because I, for some reason, thought it would result in a lot of desynchs (I was under the impression that Direct64 was more "stable" or whatever). In Jabo 1.6, the black borders at the top and bottom of the screen are of equal height, and you can actually see the Zelda cutscene at the end of the first cycle. * Overall, I saved 105 frames (1.75 seconds) in the comparable sections of the run so far. I'm definitely satisfied with this. I'd also like to thank AKA, Bloobiebla and BrianRulez for assisting me with the redo so far, by testing some things for me and saving the odd frame here and there. Here's the m64: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/246343971/SL%20MM%20REDO.m64 Here's the YouTube: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WpW-A3zRU4M I'll encode it and upload it to YouTube now, then edit this post with a link to it. Also, bkDJ, any chance of you encoding this like you did with Mukki's WIPs? My encodes are all terrible, so it would be nice to have some high quality ones like yours. Here's my favourite scene from the run so far: http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/9531/letmetakealookatyoulz3.jpg XD Oh, and one more thing... I discovered something incredibly annoying when I finished the first cycle... If reset-recording was available at the moment, I could probably save over a whole minute by resetting after playing the Song of Time at the end of the first cycle. This would allow me to skip the "flashback" scene and the small cutscene in SCT. But oh well, I'm not halting the run to wait for that. Enjoy!

At the beggining, wouldn't it have been better to equip the shield and the sword in the same pause screen (especially because of the emulator bug) ? The sword is needed to get many of the rupees which are used to buy the shield. :P Also, the AVI is uploaded to my YouTube account. It should be live within the next few hours...

To anyone who's still wondering about the legitimacy of the walk underwater and stand on slopes "glitches," read this PM I got on YouTube today. From: ingx32 KrohnIndustry... hi if you noticed in your subscribers list that the account "ingx24" (my old account) that is subscribed to your videos, here's what happened. That guy "KrohnIndustry", who faked all that sm64 stuff, conspired with someone else to obtain my password to youtube, and delete my account. Why? Because he was sick of me accusing him of cheating in star fox 64. He is very widely known in the star fox 64 community for having cheated so many times, and he currently has a proof policy at N64HS (considered to be the official scoreboard for star fox 64) where he can only submit full level videos as proof. Every time I found proof of him cheating, and presented it to him/other people, he followed the same pattern: 1. Make up some lame-ass excuse/explanation for why the proof can't be fake. 2. Flame me when I pointed out how flawed that explanation is. 3. Post up a video on his channel that is insufficient proof that he didn't cheat and give it a very arrogant and offensive title. 4. When I pointed out how insufficient the proof was, he would flame me again and get as many other people as possible to flame me as well. (and mark down my comments). Sound familiar? This is exactly what he did to you and the other tasers with that sm64 thing. So, he was so sick of me accusing him of cheating that he decided to get "revenge" and hack and delete my account. He also hacked all of my other accounts that had the same password as my youtube account. This guy has some serious problems. Can't honestly say I'm surprised. But yeah, this should hopefully clear up any remaining doubts that people might still have...
