As I said already: Because it works on GCN and VC I'd definitely do a run using stick B, if was faster. Just look at the route! What is cooler? Trading eggs and mushrooms and dropping some bugs on the way or using the most absurd and entertaining route ever to archive the quickest time ocarina of time has ever been beaten in? I guess we all know the answer.
since nobody else is answering, I will give it a go. I would like to see whatever is the fastest possible way of beating the game on the actuall console. I would feel cheated if you used any trick that wouldn't be theoreticly possible on my own game/console which I bought so long ago. No matter the entertainment or the creativity of the tricks and route used in a run I would always prefer a faster run over the slower run. Just my 2 cents though.

So, any% route has major change now. RTS record is already 52:56, and that's without using Tektite Hover. There's probably some other things too that speed it up. I'm not sure how much tektite hover saves, but around 2 minutes I believe.

I fear for the people of Hyrule if you guys leave Ganondorf free to terrorize the land! Anyways... I am looking forward to the all temples TAS. Is that still being released?

I am thorn on the new glitches. Firstly, I really do like the cutsceneskips after beating a temple. That is simply amazing. Secondly, "The faraoes wind straight to credits skip" worries me. If I was playing OoT as a kid and randomly wanted to see a video of how fast the game could be beaten (which was the case when I first stumbled upon this site), I would not be satisfied with a video that got to the credits without beating the final boss. (Why not is another discussion). And it is my impression that the majority of casual videogame enthusiasts would feel the same way. However, the more educated followers of runs do not share this concern. So to me it seems to be a question of evaluating what audience you want to focus on.

yeah, I'd like to see this being it's own category. If not for anything else, then for consistency.

The "Faraoes wind straight to credits skip" reminds me of the glitch recently discovered in Super Mario World for snes that skipped straight to the ending. I believe the TAS which utilized this glitch in SMW could not replace the run that beat the game normally, justified by the argument that you are not actually beating the game, just skipping to the credits.

I'll confirm that the new TAS has been finished for a few days now. I've only given the m64 to a handful of people (mostly close friends and some of the hardcore Zelda speedrunners) and am waiting for the encode of it to be done before I submit it here.
That's awesome man :D Congrats! I can't wait to see it.

Sadly this section won't be seen in the new "all temples" category anymore, but it's still a nice watch for everybody and I guess it manages to demonstrate very well what is possible in OoT TASing nowadays: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VmxetvouGU&feature=channel_video_title
thx alot = ) that made my night edit: what items would u get if u did low%? My issue with low% is that it could get repetative, but it might be cool :D

We need a new MST-run so that's good imo. There are way more improvements available in MST than in any% for OoT.

The run is indeed good, but I doubt it is better than bloobs overall. Swordless, grunz, bloob + a few others could probably explain its weakpoints better than me, but I will give it a go. Here are my notes from watching it: no slide while rupeecollecting in beginning. Not getting stick, not skipping owl. Not getting chest in hole while collecting cuccos (saves about 8 sec, but has to get 20 rupees elsewhere). Pulling out mushroom twice in potion shop. Some of this may have been better. Like the mushroom twice and maybe even avoiding the chest in the hole. But stick should be faster than listening to the owl and watching him fly away even in the jap version.

After thinking about it some more and not figuring out much I decided to trust the judgement of Grunz. And after giving it a rest I got genuinly excited at the prospect of a new run with aquaescape. Spider-Waffle: Has the rutobottle been TAS'ed with aquaescape? If so I have not seen it

Far be it from me to impede the progress of any TAS, but it just seems rude to continually argue with people who have the skills to TAS. If they don't think it can be done, your options should be to do it yourself or let it go, not to badger them into doing what you want them to do. I hate to even post anything but you're just blatantly ignoring their repeated requests to drop it. At some point good manners should take precedent, even over possible improvements.
Quit stirring shit up. We are in the process of planning the fastest route, your post seems to attempt to hinder that progress. I don't appreciate that, I doubt anyone here does.

I don't understand why you are so convinced about aquaescape. Some random thoughts: Aquaescape with sword doesn't utilize the shop in kokiri, nor ISG in lost woods. Both of which benefits from faster text in Jap verson. Also, having both stick and sword helps with the owl like you said.

Do you mean from kak village to the bridge? surely there's already a video of this one right?
wait what. Are you skipping dekushield?
As far as I know, ya, it can't be used for SS on this knew route and isn't needed to escape forest.
yes it can? And it avoids the neverending cutscene of getting the flute

Nice. This looks like progress to me. How would one expect the childroute for the new any% to look now?
