I personally don't care for a new all temples TAS since we allready got one. I would much rather see a 100% run, it will include pretty much everything in the game, and it would be only about an hour slower than the current all temples TAS if my calculations are correct

we defined low% a long while ago already on ZSR and a RBA low% run requieres actually even more items than a no RBA low% run. low% has a route that differs a lot from all the other categories and includes some amazing tricks. if you just look at the entertainment, low% is by far the most entertaining OoT category, believe me. if OoT wouldn't take so fucking long to TAS, I'd actually do that TAS ;)
Do u have the definition so u can share it with us? And also: are u still working on MM? :P

There are only a couple of parts where this will save time so I'm just going to go back, add them in and hex back rest. Petrie: Nope just tested it :(, he falls off
U can do that? I thought hexing was impossible in OoT cuz of luckmanipulation of randomness

awesome :D U really are the Zeldamaster Bloob! edit: question: would this save time earlier in your run, or just be less annoying than the Z-slide?

We had a big discussion about whether or not we should allow people to make donations or bounties contingent on specific games getting TASes, and the general conclusion was that it's a bad idea. Not only is there then an incentive to get any TAS published (i.e. going for the bare minimum acceptable quality as that will get you the bounty first), it also encourages people to withhold tricks from their "competitors". And of course there's simply no way that the bounties could make a decent payoff for the hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of effort required to make a good TAS for the games under discussion. As soon as you tack a dollar value onto something, people will start calculating the "wage" they would be earning, and the numbers just won't make sense. I understand that you just want there to be a nice bonus that would encourage the creation of a TAS that you really want to see. Fundamentally, though, the only two options I see for you are a) wait patiently, without nagging the TASers, or b) help make the TAS yourself.
Great post! I must admit I did not think about all the factors mentioned. I am unable to contribute in the actuall making of the TAS due to working all the time and generally just having no skill and or experience in TAS-ing. I am still willing to give a small sum of money to whoever beats the current TAS just to show my apreciation. Even though I am aware that this will in no way come close to the wage earned in an actuall job in the same time. Even though, as you mentioned, this could cause problems :P

And we actually get the Hylia shield faster with the bean route, since we buy it as a kid at Hyrule market. ;)
No. U have to get the rupies, get to the shop, buy shield, leave shop and get back to regular route. as opposed to entering the grave while at graveyard, grabbing the shield and then leaving. Probably not many seconds faster, but to claim that the first is faster than the second is propostrious. I do ofc agree that buying the shield is faster if u skip hookshot though. The way I see it is that hookshot + scarecrow song is not much slower than beans (if it really is slower like most people here seem to agree upon). The big difference would be if u didn't have to visit Lake Hylia at all to grab bottle/learn song/plant bean. So gl to the ppl working on this ;D

MrGrunz: Are u absolutely sure that the beans are faster than the hookshot? It seems to me that entering the graveyard and grabbing the hookshot isn't that big of a detour when u are getting the egg anyways. This also saves some time in lost woods (hookshooting up ladder twice), in goron city, and one other place (I think it was outside lake hylia he hookshooted up the ladder). And this allows for getting the shield faster than we would otherwise. Also skipping the bridge in gerudo valley can be done with hookshot. Then there is the added time of getting the scarecrow song and the subtracted time of getting & planting the bean. In my head it seems pretty close.

This run was ownage even if Mr Grunz might be able to beat it in the future. - Very nice route as child Link with the exception of using the new forrest escape. This run actually makes me question if the beans are quicker than the hookshot. He definatly saves time later on by grabbing onto stuff with the hookshot. His trialskip in Ganondorfs castle is different from the one I've been used to seeing. Which one is faster? Also I noticed some parts where stuff could be done quicker. Like in the graveyard he could have used the dmgtrick to enter graves faster.
