Is there a way to capture video in Zelda Classic yet? If so, I can try it. The version I got it to work on was either 1.74 or 1.82. I know they are on 2.10. Remember - ZC was hand coded...it's not the LoZ NES code verbatim. That is probably the difference right there. It would be cool to see this done faster, just to know there is still room to improve.

-_- I swear to god... I clicked YES - but the radio button toggled to NO when I used my quick keys to skip to the POST button...so ignore that no - it's from me, but I mean YES. This means it will be available in .avi format? These things are useless to me unless they're in a video format for playback on Media Player, Quicktime, WinAmp or Real Player.

As I was telling Ramzi...that trick apparently only worked on Zelda Classic...he tried in LoZ...and couldn't do it.

Um...Red Potion?? There a segment you take damage and need full health afterwards? Wouldn't abusing save states to get health from fallen foes be faster than getting a Red Potion, then using it?

How can you time attack Four Swords? Even with save/states, the game randomly generates levels. If you figure out the coding, it truly is random for some parts - you will never get a "same segment" twice...unless you have the luck of the Irish. Not to mention, what emus support the multi-player aspect? How would you do mutli-player time attack on GBA?

Trying to get the Private Key, eh? Pretty impressive stuff, but an encryption is only as complex as you make it...do you know what bit the password system was for Oracles?

Anyway when you get done with the Light World you could make an .avi file so I can watch it? I don't use emulators so I can't watch anything you've done so far...but I'd like to see what is going on in-game and perhaps I can ask about some things.

So you are at the end of Tower of Hera at 21:18? Yikes...I know the Master Sword time is around like 26 mins for the speed runs...so we'll see how fast it is then for sure (I don't remember the end of Tower part). Still, that's awesome. I don't think you're going to get under 1 hr, though, like some are predicting.

I thought we established I don't keep secrets? The only things I could think of I mentioned in my commentary - look for more shortcuts where I overlooked stuff, and see if other Tiger Scrolls could be achieved to speed up battles, or find faster fighting strategies. You can already improve on my Octorok and Gyorg battles by about 2 mins...if not more...

A run of beating LA in 5 minutes can be done by a human player on a GB system...it doesn't require an emulator...and save states. In fact..I would imagine a time attack would only be mere seconds faster than the fastest possible human run of this... Personally, It would be cool to see an Oracle of Seasons/Ages time attack because no speed run exists and I plan on doing those games someday so it would be nice to have something to go on. LA/LA DX run doesn't really interest me...don't know why. A TMC time attack would interest me. I'd like to see how much faster the game could be beaten over my 2:45 run.

An arrow = 3 sword hits to Lanmolas? Would it be say...prudent...to keep redoing a legit run...trying to take down 1 LANMOLA at a time? Say, first round they pop out - could a human kill 1 in that time with arrows? Then the 2nd time the two pop out, kill another? Finally, on the third, kill the last? To me, this would be worth redoing over and over on a legit run, if somebody could forsee this being possible. My target goal is to kill them all in under 5 "pop outs" I want to pick up about 20-30 seconds on this battle. I know I can do it, after much practice, I'm surgical with this bitch (the arrows).

How plausible is this Lanmolas strategy for a human run...

Heh, back in the day I actually routinely did the "lift the pot/step on switch" in East Palace without killing the foes... Heh...I need to do that...I seriously forgot all about that.

Well, there is 4 mins of time savers found that are easy to do. Now I am relying on you guys to find some more stuff...cuz I will promise to retire from this game should I get sub 1:40.

An update - I can almost get 1:40 now on this game... I'm kinda hoping you guys find a few more small things to make it possible for a sub 1:40 ALttP run...which is my goal.

Hey Arc or whoever does the main page now: My OoT, ALttP and LA DX run are new. The times up for the first two are wrong and old, and you don't even have my LA DX run. Is there like a ban on my runs?

Madzombie came up with a lot of that, but it's not all his. And no, he wouldn't post this here so I just posted all the stuff I found.

You can stand on the switch in the room 4 rooms before the Eastern Palace boss without killing the green guys, just walk to where the switch is and it'll activate, without you getting hurt. Before getting to the Eastern Palace you can walk into the armos statue that blocks your path, get hurt, and walk through him while flashing from the damage. Saves the time taken to kill him. In the Mountain Tower, turn the switch in the first room of floor 3 blue. This allows you to get through the next room slightly faster. The only downside is you block of the heart pots before Moldorm. Faster route through the forest into Skull Woods, involving less distance and pegasus boots charges. In Skull Woods you can take a shorter route through the room with the holes and the star switches by crossing diagonally across the top right gap after activating the first switch. When you get the Big Key in Turtle Rock, instead of going down afterwards, go up and go back through the room on the left. It may not seem like it, but it saves around 6-8 seconds compared to going to the right room. Pick up a key under a pot in the 2nd downstairs room of Ganon's tower. A 2 second detour that saves you having to kill 2 helmasaurs near the end of the dungeon. Also, if you have spare Silver Arrows, they can kill the Llanmolas in 1 hit each. Kill the ball and chain troopers at the start of the castle tower with arrows, rather than the sword beam, which saves a few seconds. For entering the Desert and leaving, I know that you can dash STRAIGHT LEFT when you enter, then STRAIGHT UP. As for exiting, you can go STRAIGHT DOWN, then STRAIGHT RIGHT. All in dashes.

10:53 is to when, though, specifically? I get the pendant @ 12:00. That would be 1:07 slower. If you mean till the fade out... 12:17 Which would be 1:24 slower. So that's pretty good time made up. Edit: You using save/quits?

I just want to see this video made so I can know what the fastest times should be around...and possibly learn to do a few more things differently in order to get a lower time. I won't redo my run ever unless over 1 min of time can be saved relatively easily on a human run.

Some notes: 1. Doing Swamp Ruins (Crystal 2) before Misery Mire (Crystal 6) is a necessary change. REASON: Hookshot allows you to cross gap at start much quicker, and you can use the hookshot in Skull Woods a few places. 2. There is a key in Skull Woods in the room 2 SCREENS LEFT of the entrance where there are 2 Gibdos and a switch you mush hold down. The key is under a pot. This is more optimal than the one I get later and Mirror warp. 3. Getting the Ice Rod later is optimal - get it around the Ice Palace part (I think I saw somebody mention it already. 4. My Ganon's Tower part - you can light those four torches much faster than I did in the room with the spinning flame thing. 5. Research the Ice Palace more...I have a gut feeling my route is not the best there... That's about all.

I actually need a favor from somebody who can do this on emulator with save states and slow downs. In Level 7 - Eagle's Tower. You know the room with the 3 penguins that have card suits (Diamond, Heart, Clover, Spade) on them that rotate? Get to the top of that room, and see if you, with Pegasus Boots, can dash jump across that gap. 4 square jumps have been done so far...just not here on an unaltered gameplay run. Many thanks in advance.
