what a legend, definite yes EDIT: to compare to RTA runs, this run is (with my quick mental math) 7:52. doesn't quite beat the current record, which is 7:37 by domakr, but given that that run is on PC and this run is on gamecube, which is 1:10 slower, i think it'll do. ;)

I was thinking, "there's no way they could speed this level up." But you know what? They did.

It's a definite yes vote from me even though I'm very confused and have no clue what happened

God damn. So how fast can this game be beaten now, with the new King Boo glitch? This is fucking insane.

Okay, I'm not trying to be snarky about this when I ask it, but: Can someone tell me why the 100% RTA conditions don't work? All I've gotten from that so far is that they just won't work.

But what if the maximum hearts were 150? Would you collect all just because you can? ... Sounds absurd.
It's not, though. The maximum amount of hearts is not 150, so bringing that up doesn't really help anything. There are 20 and 1/4 hearts you can get in the game, and I don't see how getting all of them is debatable. It doesn't matter if you could duplicate up to a million hearts, the game gives you 20 and 1/4 heart pieces to collect, so in my opinion, you should collect all of them. The only debate I really see here is whether or not to get the extra quarter heart piece, and I think you should. That's just my opinion though, and I'd be happy to know, reasonably, why that should not be the case.

Previously, TASes would overwrite $D35D with a value (usually 0x76 or 0xD0) that loads bank 0x16, and puts 0x6401 (01 64) at $D36D to load the code for the Hall of Fame. This TAS overwrites $D35D with 0xF8, loading bank 0x3C where some Hall of Fame data is, and puts 0x50F1 (F1 50) at $D3F1 to enter the credits routine at address 0x50F1.
I have no clue what the hell any of that means. It looks cool, though! So that gets a yes vote from me.

You know, I love this game, and I actually tried messing around with TASing this game. Well, now I know why I'm not the guy who did it! Haha! This gets a yes vote from me.

Hey, I don't know if this has been brought up before, but I have a silly idea that might save like half a second. You know that one part of DRC where you're supposed to throw a bomb onto a the big rock that blocks the door? The part where you're sidling and ledge-grabbing and shit. Well, I think that if you get storage on the beginning part of the ledge, it'll cancel the bomb throwing cutscene, effectively skipping the barrier saving a tiny bit of time. Again, it seemed pretty obvious to me, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone had thought of it already. Just a thought.

Yeah, I'm restarting the run anyways. I'm thinking of doing a Master Sword TAS, but I just can't get the motivation to start right now, because it would all be my own route.
This might sound incredibly ignorant as I've never done or attempted TAS before, but why can't you just do the current non-TAS route that people do, but just TAS that? It might not have any of the tricks that a TAS would do, but at least it's something.

I hope I'm allowed to do this, but I'm just saying that I am super pumped for this TAS.
