Interesting with some more Doom TASes! One thing... Wouldn't it be faster to be closer to the Cyber Demon for the final hit?

Just stop the pointless discussion and TAS a game instead.

A note on that 21:19 TAS: It wastes time in level to avoid getting a fanfare when you beat the level time, pretty much the same as in Sonic the Hedgehog runs, though those TASes also ignore wasting time for that purpose, and aims for the in game timer instead.

Just want to mention that despite using the f1 ROM for the TAS, it syncs fine on the original version too.

Never mind what this post said, I'm dumb =D. Edit: Doing anything else than going straight forward is just dumb for the first level I would say. Nice to see this project starting after I have given up on it like 23 times.

Most consoles have slight differences in loading times anyway.

How to beat the game by using only two pauses for the entire run (Commentated TAS): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaDflIPG3f4

As Mugg revived the topic, I might as well post this: http://www.xamuel.com/tool-assisted-speedruns/ I found it to be quite interesting!

You can not, no. The Link's Awakening speedrun community is going crazy currently. We are 11 people in Teamspeak researching and having fun with this. It's so good <3.

New glitch by Emuraloz to overload the sprite limit for despawning (First seen at 0:20): Link to video My version based on the same idea of sprite limit: Link to video This also works with bombs only, as you can pick up a bomb, hold up+down, lay another one, pick it up with up+down and repeat. Until you get enough bombs to despawn. This will be faster to use in a TAS.

Including the long time between each level where you have to vote for the best and worst players. Such a terrible waste of time that is :/.

Just so you know, Yadra is often streaming herself TASing this game. Be sure to check out http://www.twitch.tv/yadra121 if you are interested.

You have to get Epona for the Gerudo horseback archery. Nothing to argue there.

Frog suit takes way too much time to get compared to what it saves. Especially on the SNES or GBA version, as you have the left+right glitch to do in the water. And in 3-2 it has absolutely no effect, as you don't even touch the water... It saves a little bit of time in 3-F2, but again, takes too long to get to be worth it.

The 100% TAS of the NES version is being worked hard on. We should have it down shortly. All levels and hammer brothers is the definition for 100% btw. You don't need the mushroom houses or the minigames. In fact, it's impossible to get them all because you don't have enough hammers.

The #1 thing I want for a GBA emulator currently, is a way to TAS linked games (Four Swords). Good luck on this! Better accuracy than VBA would be neat to have!

So... what about awesome TASes of the great game Super Mario Galaxy 2?! Let's focus on that instead of pointless drama. Thanks.

These are just proof of concept for 3-5: P-speed AllCoins

Just mentioning that if someone wants to improve this run eventually, or make a different category, I'll help out with sharing knowledge and reviewing WIPs and such.

From a SMB3 TASer's perspective, this run is very sloppy. P-speed is far from optimised and the run lacks things like Corner/Ceiling boosts. Things that are used and explained in current SMB3 TASes. For example, in the first level, if you go directly down the first pipe without landing first, you can keep the P-speed through the pipe section and on to the overworld again afterwards. Saving you seconds. I'm sorry for not looking at this project before, I've just ignored the topic... As I could have given you some input early on instead :/. Edit: This is just a lazy test that is improveable, but here is a 100 frames faster version for half of the first level: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/956091518/SMB3Mix.fm2

A TAS doesn't really mean anything unless the input file is provided though.
