This concerns me. Was an inaccurate emulator specifically chosen to gain time?
In the case of The Minish Cap, VBA-M has less lag, but was also the one being more accurate to console, as some things didn't lag on console but did in VBA 23. How it is in this game though, I have no clue.

I don't of any being worked on at least. I stopped working on DKC 101% long ago, I simply can't finish Croctopus Chase. Would love to finish the run though. I have however no interest in TASing the other two currently.

Call for help... For the third time, I'm stuck in the flying tiles room in Hera's Tower, because of a glitch I can't understand how it works. The previous two times were solved by Yuzuhara. He has however left the project and retired TASing and I never got an explanation exactly how it works. The glitch can be seen here: YouTube. It's destroying the last two tiles when they spawn by using pots. Also the two SMV's versions I have of it: One with the boots, which is the Youtube video: SMV (At frame 54000) and one without boots: SMV. The run being worked on is using no boots. And here's the current WIP with a failed attempt of the room: SMV Which tiles you can destroy depends on, to my knowledge, 1 or 2 different frame rules, when you lift up a pot (Before and after a tile spawns) and how many pots you have picked up. Some memory addresses that may or mat not have anything to do with this: Watch. I know for sure that some don't, I just have been lazy to take them out... Delaying entering the room will have a different outcome on which tiles you can destroy with the pot. Open the inventory and delaying 1, 2 or 3 frames will also effect this, for four different values as far as I know. If anyone could help me solve this I would be very happy as I simply can't stand this room anymore... All SMV's are using SNES9X 1.51 and the JP 1.0 rom.

There are many glitches in those videos that are useful for all the DKC TASes on the site (Except the glitched 8 min DKC run).

The real time runners define as: All Levels, all Hammer Brothers. So your list except the last two. That's the only thing I would be going for. As for the walkathon... I can't seem to find my run of it. I can try to redo it I suppose =P. Because the screen is scrolling in the tank level, you can get an extra "16 speed" as the screen scrolls one pixel. So that way you should be able to get enough for the clip. Or am I thinking wrong?

Of course. Glitchman was working on it before, got up to 2-Fort and was 413 frames ahead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfO5Of0PY-8 But he hasn't showed any more WIPs since that one, and it was two years ago afterall.

Tom: Ah, walkathon! Was awhile since I did any work on that. I gave up after not managing to clip into the corner in first tank autoscroller. Never found out if it is possible in theory at all, but I believe so. I've also been thinking about getting back to warpless again. As it seems no one is working on it atm?

There are many times where more players will be slower. Such as the end of every level, where you have to pick the Hero of Time and such. Takes forever. But indeed, multiplayer will most likely be more entertaining. Though it's highly unlikely that it will be faster.

Just adding an update for the upcoming run... I recently starting redoing it from the Hyrule Castle dungeon, after rescuing Zelda. Most of the route has been finished, still need to fix some things later on, but for now I just want to get going on it. There is no point of adding a WIP just yet, as nothing has changed since the previous one. Currently route is the following:, Hyrule Castle Escape Sanctuary Hera's Tower Palace of Darkness, leave early Eastern Palace Palace of Darkness, finish. It's not 100% decided after that, so we'll see what happens =).

Smaller map and has some coloring for EG: http://www.escaprism.com/media/img/eg-map.png If you enter the room with the skull in upper right, the game will freeze on SNES and you get the "reset glitch" on GBA.

Just felt like adding a small note about the Boomerang and boots... If you don't obtain the Blue Boomerang before you battle Agahnim, you are unable to get it in that chest again. Because of that, there is a "backup" chest for the Blue Boomerang. In the sweeping lady's house in Kakariko Village. If you get the Blue Boomerang in Hyrule Castle, the other chest will contain arrows and vice versa. As for the Red Boomerang. There are simply two ways of getting it. Either from that chest or when upgrading it. Floating glitch works on any version of the game, all SNES and GBA versions. Done by pressing A every second frame after obtaining the boots.

You never get the lvl 1 Sword or Shield. You can temper without having a sword, and it will go direclty to Lvl 3. Then you fall down into the right pot in Hyrule Castle and fight Ganon. Two items collected, would take like 5 minutes to reach Ganon.

Well, the only items you need are: Lamp and Tempered Sword. It's a pretty quick run. The Ganon No EG is more interesting at least, which is the run I posted at the end of page 60.

Just mentioning that I have improved this with about 2 seconds already. Will submit when it's optimised enough.

Nice run. Though you should really mention Yuzuhara in the submission, considering he found all the new glitches that were used in the run.

I know you can save at least 4, rough test, with a damage boost from the guards. What improvement did you find for it? I imagine the diagonal clip as well, it's a bitch to get into the right position... Can't get a boost from a left side corner that I know of.

We haven't cared to focus on the glitched runs as they are so short, boring and pointless, despite taking less than an hour to finish. It should most certainly work on GBA as well, never cared to test. A general note: The real time runs are using a different timing than ours, starting at file select (6.5 seconds less) and ends when entering the Triforce Chamber (52 seconds).

We have remade the glitched TAS many times, with various routes. This is currently the fastest I have done, but I haven't had Yuzuhara look at it yet, and I believe it can be improved further: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1984588258/ALttPglitched.smv

DMTM stated that the endign of the first boss fight could be improved... Don't know what he meant and he didn't explain or show a video. Just felt like noting it here. Also: Great run you runs =)!

255 rupees is a pointless goal, I don't get the purpose at all. All bomb upgrades should be an obvious yes, as well as getting the big shield. I don't get any discussions that want them skipped, I see no logic behind it.

Pydoyks doesn't want to add his times to the ZSR leaderboards, so it isn't up to date with all its records. I try to have the Zeldawiki updated at least, though I haven't updated it recently so there might be some records that have been improved.

It's still being worked on, yeah. I just had to take a break because of a lot of work and the ESA speedrun marathon. Yuzuhara is currently busy with stuff too. The current WIP is the following: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/765548593/ALttPAny%25ImprovementJP.smv That is practically just a test though, as I'm unsure if that route is going to be the quickest or not, still a lot to test.
