RTA starts on file select. End point should be fairly the same, so about 6:27 RTA.

Go with Autohold found on the first page of the Hotkeys section. I couldn't survive TASing without it, incredibly useful.

I've followed all your TTYD TASes and I've heavily enjoyed your explanation videos of various tricks and strategies throughout the years. This was, of course, another masterpiece of yours! Looking forward to the sub 1:30 TAS in a couple of years!

As I wrote: By killing him at the start of a small hop. So just delay the final fire and time it with his jump.

In 8-1, at the walljump before the pipe. You can get reach one block higher on the wall, which should allow for a slightly earlier pipe entry, I believe. Jumping at 1:31 to land earlier will build your P-meter up quicker than running off the platform. I tested some other things where I thought things would be faster, but I was incorrect. Also, I'm not sure if it works on this Bowser fight, but is it possible for him to quick drop in this hack like in the original? By killing him at the start of a small hop.

I noticed some minor differences between the game versions as well. Like in 2-Castle, there are fewer coins in your version than in mine. This shouldn't have been the affect of using the PRG0/1 version I believem as that is a change in the hack itself. Though I noticed that Haxor seems to be using the same version in his WR run as you. Hm hmm, I'll look into it later on. I could get make an encode, but it would be easier for you to check the input file to compare stuff. I'll get to it.

Here's my current 100% WIP for comparision: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/63712194783716935 Old WIP which goes up to Bowser, though I'm redoing to get more coins + optimising a couple of areas: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/63712217901929888 You can spot a couple of improvements from there. Also, one note about the music boxes: As the HB there will only take one movement each time, using the box saves no time at all. As the waiting time after a level still equals the time of one movement.

It's DKC2 only, nothing similar is doable in DKC. This has been discussed heavily in the Discord server for the RTA community.

I often visit a site called VGM Quiz. Basically, listen to a song, write the name of the game. Simple enough. Tonight at 9PM CEST, there is going to be a VGM Quiz Championship. Please join for some nice music, fun and friedly competition! https://www.vgm-quiz.com/v4/

Congrats, MasterJun! Thanks for all the votes as well, didn't really expect to end this high on the list. Let's hope for another decade of great TASes!

I might as well post it here as well. An "All Dragon Coins" TAS was recently uploaded to Nicovideo for the GBA version, first part here: Link to video

It was less lag compared to your previous version, even if it is more lag than my old run.

I just did a minor change to the submission text. You save 10 frames from only having one Kong on the map screen when entering KKR. The other 3 frames were saved from less lag during the Master Necky fight. All good!

I struggled a lot t osave additional time in 6-5, I couldn't... And while I did save a lag frame against Master Necky, it ended up being slower against KKR because of extra lag frames there. I'm satisfied with this for now, unless you have further improvements. Nice work on this, Hidaigai!

I've been struggling a lot at the bonus entrance for 6-5... Here's one method that enters the barrel a frame later but gets a lot less lag, overall one frame faster: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/61083356287213705 I've also had a few variations where I enter the barrel a frame earlier, but got more lag frames. Going to do a couple of more attempts at this tomorrow. See if you have any luck with it as well.
