Oh my, I wonder what I was thinking when writing that Maple could drop the Power Ring Lvl 2, haha. There have been at least 10 different authors that have tried to TAS these games. An unoptimized two hours run of Oracle of Seasons was submitted back in 2005. The rest (except Swordless' OoA run) hasn't reached past more than at most two dungeons (Dezbeast in the lead by entering the third dungeon in OoS). Most of these haven't been too optimized and people have easily given up. Dezbeast's run Soulrivers and my version Swordless' attempt These are the three worthy OoS WIPs, latest one being the most optimised obviously. So if you want to give it a try, be my guest=P.

A spring can be used to make the star fly through objects, that item is often enough for most action levels.

Nah, I have never said that you could get a Lvl 3 power ring from her, as that one is only available in Hero's Cave if you do linked game in Seasons. You can however get the Green Ring, which will increase your sword power and you'll take less damage. In Ages the Power Ring Lvl 1 is obtained in the first dungeon. If we were able to manipulate the Green Ring first time you see Maple, as well as getting the potion at the same time, that would be faster. I'm not sure of how many different rings that Maple could drop, probably around 30, and to be able to manipulate the Green Ring would be a real pain...

For enemy manipulation: Nearly all manipulation in the game is based on your amount of sword slashes: Where enemies spawn, where they walk and they will drop. Some enemies are also manipulated through your movement, some moblins, and what frame you enter the screen. Maple isn't anything you need to care about in a Seasons run at least. She appears after you have killed 30 enemies and the drops depends on a lot of things, that I'm not 100% sure of yet. A run of Seasons would probably be around 1:45 and Ages 2:30. Rough estimates though.

Seems like Super Return of the Jedi keeps getting worse with every version... This time it's back to the same issue that most of the input just disappears when I replay the movie. The day I'm able to TAS SRotJ I'm going to switch to 1.51, but for now I see no reason to not keep going with 1.43.

Swordless is going to continue, probably redo together with me, Oracle of Ages once his Link's Awakening run is done. He was also working on OoS with me but because of crappy manipulation, that one is on hold currently until I don't know when. If you want to try be my guest. But TASing these games is a pain in the ass, just so you know :).

The upload is supposed to be higher, but it has been lowered "lately", which I can't explain why.

I tried it out and the camera followed pretty good. Even though it completely ruins the graphics sometimes. Thanks a lot at least Specter, and those who helped him! Next task is to try to get rid of the 36274 desyncs I'm getting all the time. Lag I get when recording with camhack won't happy when I replay, enemies I get hit off while recording, I can run through when replaying etc. This will still be rather impossible to TAS =P.

Nice to see that people are willing to help out with this. Here is a video I made to show how it looks like and so that you could try the scripts and so on. Thanks a lot.

I spend about two weeks to manipulate the snakes. But I'm not satisfied with it. I managed to get pretty much perfect manipulation but accidently rerecorded it because of my stupid keyboard. And I tried like crazy to achieve that time again, 2-3 frames faster than this, but I failed :/. Last time I battled the knights I killed them about 4 frames faster using another method. But the last knight died too high up so I couldn't obtain the heart at once. I didn't try as much this time but couldn't manage to find anything better, so Erokky is the man <3.

I'm reposting this again, in case there are going to be any major route differences because of it.

You were actually 18 frames faster on the title screen, I wonder how that happened... That would mean that you somewhere lost a few frames compared to me, as you mentioned you being 15 frames faster. As for where you are stuck: I remember that I had some problems with those spiders as well, but I don't remember what I did to make the cooperate, I'll take a look at it later to see what I can do.

Sounds good, I didn't really expect 14 frames that early in the run. It's going to be interesting to see what you did differently.

The run has been restarted at least twice using the same amount of rerecords, so it's a little bit misguided I believe.

I'm wondering if it's faster to skip the warp in Murky Hill... I don't remember if we ever tried it. Did we? Nice WIP at least. I'm going to try what I mentioned above once I get home, in case you don't do it before me:).

I tried to delay up to like 100 frames without any success. I managed to get all but one out of the way without losing anything however, but that doesn't help much :/. I didn't manage to walk diagonally up two of the stairs without charging my sword first, not sure if it's possible or not. It still saves a lot to do it that way.

... Or else I could just upload a little WIP now instead. I'm having problem with the room where this ends, stupid snakes. I simply can't make them be out of my way :(.

Well, I won't use that glitch at all *yay*. I guess I can show you a WIP once the Light World is finished :).

Anyway, the run has started and I'm 16 frames ahead up to the stairs to B1 in the castle. I'm going to, once again, ask what the decision will be with the Stairs Glitch. See page 45 for more info... Usually, the only side effect is that Link will be invisible in the first room. If Zelda's with Link, she will be invisble for the whole floor. But as Tower of Hera is mostly one room/floor, Link will be invisble through most of the dungeon. Stairs of the kind that leads to the Throne Room works a bit different though. They won't make Link invisble, instead they'll freeze the camera until you enter the next room. With a few sideeffect to it. SMV I personally think that I shall skip this.

Well, I haven't really started it yet... I'm working on my 5th attempt to improve the glitched run. But three frames are lost because of the frame rules, so no success there. But I'll start the run soon.

I guess I'll upload world 2 as well... YouTube SMV I'll also say that I'm dropping this run now. The reason is because I really need a cam hack/cheat to proceed, see the topic at the SNES9X section for more info. But yeah, I won't care about this run until my problem has been solved.
