Alright, I'm looking forward to see it. I'm also hoping to see Electrospecter online so I can talk to him about this. He did remake what we had done on the run, and I don't know how far he has reached. But I'm going to compare your run with what I've seen of it at least.

It's looking very good so far at least. There are some corner boost that you might have missed in Palm Tree Paradise. I'm going to do some tests. Edit: Never mind. Those corner boosts were useless as they requires you to destroy more blocks. Badpotato: No, he won't take the music discs. Except one that is in your way.

Nice run indeed. I better find something for you to improve on the intro stage, just because you love it so much :D. Ye ye.

His current progress is in Kanalet Castle. Chef Stef is a bit busy with other stuff, but he's working on the run from time to time.

I started an improvement to the current run awhile ago... http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1639492700/WarioLand4TAS.Tompa.vbm Let's see if you can spot what's new in that one compared to the previous version. Feel free to continue the run, I was just bored one day so this is probably nothing I'll finish.

Thanks for the feedback. This is the only project I'm working on right now, everything is on hold until this is done. So I am working a lot on it, but it takes some time to do :).

Some codes, such as the ones that makes you play a harder difficulty, are allowed. So don't you worry about that :). But still: Before you begin a run of this, send ElectroSpecter a PM.

You can watch the old 105% at SDA for reference. http://speeddemosarchive.com/DonkeyKongCountry3.html Even though the run quality is quite outdated, it still shows you what you need to do.

105% is the max. You get 103% if you play through the game normally, visiting all the bonus aresas. 1% is added if you avoid all the check point barrels and 1% if you play on the hardest difficulty, TUFST. This removes most of the DK-barrels in the game as well as the check point barrels.

You can start off by watching the old WIP posted in this topic. Also contact Electrospecter about this.

Just because I can... Time to bump this topic. 2 years, 43 minutes and 36 seconds ago, Arne the great and I began to improve the current 101% run. The project has taken very long because of several redos and such. The run should have been done a long time ago really... I decided to just put up a teaser for you, the first world. I have reached the middle of the third world currently, but I don't want to show too many spoilers. SMV YouTube Arne is sadly not with me on this project anymore, but I wouldn't have been able to do this without his assistance in previous version. Thanks for being awesome!

Was just going to add that I'm very interested in seeing this in the works. Have been wanting to TAS Four Swords for a long time now. Would be awesome if it will be possible as well :).

I wonder... what required so many rerecords for this run?

These aren't possible. As you are forced to break some of the DK-barrels, such as at the start of every boss.

This was an unexpected submission. I knew that the run was improveable, but not how much. Very nice run at least, yes yes.

I have all versions between 0.98.12 to 0.98.28, except 0.98.14. Here's 0.98.25 if you still want it. http://www.savefile.com/files/2100475

Lord Tom: You can go through pipes from the right side of them, haven't succeded from the left but it would be awesome if it worked. Basically just press diagonal downleft. fcm Not good to use everywhere as you can get stuck because of it. 3-9 And sometimes it is just evil. lava As you can only go through the pipe from the right side, this limits the use of it. But there are several levels where it should be possible in.

Very good run guys. It's always nice to see this run being improved over and over again. You better work on an improvement to the non-warp run as well, and please try to use the pipe glitch :D.

Not sure if someone cares but... I was kinda bored today so I made a TAS of this game. SMV Same kind of glitch as the ALttP Glitched run. It's 88 frames faster than this run.

Even though I'm, so far, able to TAS Return of the Jedi with this emulator, I have experienced a few bugs with it. Sometimes when I'm playing the emulator is going into fast forward mode a short while. Making normal playing very annoying. When I load a save state during movie recording, not sure if it happens when not recording as well, the movie plays forward by one frame a lot of times. Which is also quite irritating to check that all the time while recording.

The graphic glitch was that all the time from that save state. But loading an earlier one will remove it. The emulator I used was 1.43+ v16 (interim). It wasn't any graphic glitches in the movie afterwards, only when I was recording it. I have recorded testruns of the first level with multiple 1.51 version. Some have desynced at the first try, others don't, it seems quite random too me but I don't know so =P.

I'm sure I tried that emulator before without any success, but I never made sure that Sync Sound with CPU was checked, so that might have done it... The sound is just as bad in any version though. Also, while making a test video I loaded a save state and the screen turned like this. It has happened me twice now....

I have been trying to TAS this game for a long time but I've been having multiple issues with desyncs. In the first level of RotJ I'm riding a speeder, holding B will make it go faster. But sometimes the game doesn't react to the input, randomly some of the frames' input are ignored. This can happen both if I recorded a run with or without savestates. I have tried different settings to see if it makes any differences, but so far no luck. But sometimes the movie syncs without any problems at all. Not the same movie though, but if I record another one, same emulator/rom/settings. I have yet not found a logical explanation to this. Haven't tried to TAS the other two SSW games for awhile, but they desync like crazy as well but not in the same way. Another issue these games have is the sound effects. Like when you take a coin. It's getting some kind of echo effect. Some emulator versions get the title screen sound perfect but for some it sounds awful. Again, I've tried several settings to fix the sound effects as well. Any suggestions?
