Swordless is trying to improve the run currently, having problem with some lag. But he will probably update the submission file once he is done.

Mister have already posted the URL on IRC channel, anyway. ISM's Super Mario Land 2 in 25:38.25 http://youtube.com/watch?v=LQnYmaVUBZ8 IIRC, ISM said it can be improved a little. ---- I haven't watched the submission yet.
Soulrivers have been trying to compare with that run a lot and soulrivers is actually faster at most parts. For example, lag reducing. The Japan guy is often doing the spinjump to get coins from blocks, this is increasing the lag amount with a lot. Soulrivers also used more corner boosts. It isn't easy to compare because there isn't a vbm to be found, as far as I know. But we couldn't find another explanation than that he used a different timing... Could be wrong though, but a vbm is needed. Edit: Hmm, am checking around on his site... Even though I can't understand a single word, the pictures show some neat tricks that weren't used in neither his or this run. Translating the site to English would be good =P.

The reason why the Water world is taken first is because of the Bunny Hood which makes the first level in the water level very fast.

And it is just less text, and there's always good with less text which no one cares to read anyway... People don't watch a run in order to know what they are saying in the game, they watch the actual gameplay. And the gameplay isn't any different in the J version than the U version.

"And Tompa for being my slave which wasn't allowed to go to bed until he had helped me out, just so I could redo it afterwards." I love you too! Good run, voting yes :).

"No needs explanations" Yes please. Add more information in the submission text. Where you improved and things like that. Also, you should have killed Bowser using the fire flower as well, no need to make the avi longer.

This is insane... Poor game... :( Awesome run though, one of the most glitches I've ever seen.

I know what it says, and I know that it is the Pegasus Boots.

105% update. World 2 done 1189 frames ahead. Thanks to Kazooie for his childhood of killing the spider a different way than I did it :).

I just downloaded it to try... It sucked. Rolling seems to be slower and I can't find any reasons why to accept a run of it actually.

I haven't played the GBA versions of DKC2 and DKC3 because the first one sucked ass compared to the original. And I can't see how this can be better than the SNES version either, so that's why I haven't bothered about this. Are there enough differences compared to the SNES version so it should be worthy an own run?

I say you should use the other version. I've heard people having errors with version 20, I haven't tried it myself though. Also... Me and Stef did some testings, and it seems like the trick to access kanalet castle early isn't working. Qujio had apparently not made it himself, even if it seemed like it when reading his post at SDA... So we should go with the regular route instead.

I don't use it because some people don't really like it. Also, it's not possible on a real console.
Ok, let's remove all runs on the site that use tricks that can't be done on console.

Don't use the 1.1 rom... Use 1.0 in case you haven't got a good reason not to. Yeah, I'll have to change the route a bit. Shouldn't be too hard I hope. You have to have the Pegasus Boots in order to enter the Color Dungeon. Or else a message will appear that says you are a weak coward. Whoever wrote that guide has no idea what he/she is talking about. And yeah, because that the Mambo Warp brings you pretty close the graveyard. It will be too much of a detour to get there earlier and the red tunic won't add that up. Another reason is that it is right after the arrow upgrade. And arrows will be faster to use in there, against the boss for example. Edit: Getting the boomerang when you are going to get Marin? How in earth is that supposed to be possible?

Nice run there! Too bad you didn't make it sub 14, but that will the next version I hope :). Sometimes I really can't stand the music in the Genesis version, it's awful...

My file name is just The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening.gb But I believe it's U 1.0. I don't know which version of VBA I used to record but it plays fine on 1.7.2 V. 19.3. Quijo (Nowmore Sleepers) found that when he was looking for new tricks for his SDA run. Here's a failed attempted of it, but you get the idea.

May have been suggested already... But I would like to see how many frames that are left of the movie you are watching. It really sucks ass that you can't with the current version in my opinion :/.

Would be a bit faster if you avoid the flags, as they are useless. Quite nice though :).

You should take a look at the maps over here if you are going to do this run. I'm sure it will help you out some =). Thanks Xkeeper for the link.
