You can't imagine how much I've been testing with these kind of glitches in this game, ooooh boy! Every weapon, every combination. I haven't, however, experienced with two weapons at once so much... hmm. Glitcher: Take a look at the LA DX TAS that's on the site to see a lot of these glitches found by me and Chef_Stef :).

First: Welcome to the forums! Second: Have you got "Allow Left+Right / Up+Down." on or off? Third: It's quite hard to explain how these kind of glitches work in this game. It is very easy to see that something is wrong if you press up+down when charging and releasing the spinattack. By doing that, you'll see that Link "moves" to different places on the screen, his sword as well. When you are pressing up+down+shield, Link will be able to pick up Piece of Powers, Guardian Acorns and the sword, as long as it is in the same vertical line as Link. I can't really give an explaining to it... So you'll have to accept this one.

I've noticed some things that I'm able to improve... Like when I fall into the second pipe, I should have turned left before it so I don't need to turn around after I landed. Time to learn how to use the hex editing I presume! I want to finsih the first ninja level first however. Am at the annoying statue, 1st... Do you want me to post a new WIP after each lvl? Or shall I post after each world? Or maybe none at all?=P EDIT: Hmm, how do you use the edit tool at all...? Couldn't find any information about it anywhere, didn't search that much but still...

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4575/MauiMallardTASTompaNinja.smv Boss fight was quite annoying... Specially after the boss is dead ;D. It seems somehow random when I really finish the lvl. It became all dark at frame 13729, but sometimes it can be over 800 in the end... EDIT: I found out that the shots are flying faster if you walk when shooting them. This is used at the very last hit on the boss. I tried it on the end of the first phase too, but for some reason it wasn't faster... I might have done some bad calculations, so I guess I'm going to double check.

Good good =). Let's see... one seed more, hmm. I think you shall use it somewhere in dungeon 3, not sure though. It should be used before you reach the "Animal Region" with the Ricky, beacuse you are going to manipulate a seed from a chuchu, or similar, and you'll have 15 at that point so that's 20 after the refill. But with the one you spared now you'll have 21 (Which you can't have ;D). It's quite hard for me to know where it should be used... I've only estimated when they'll run out for you. So I belive my route won't work all the time. I hope it can help you a bit anyway=). Hehe, you better start reading my routes then ;D. I didn't do them for nothing ;) ^^.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4552/MauiMallardTASTompaLvl4.smv Saved like 8-9 frames in lvl 3 and made lvl 4 too. I hate the rope part... It can still be like 2 frames faster, but I haven't been able to do it. You can see in the movie that it looks slower at one jump, I can probably hex edit this later... (After I've learned how it works.) Wanted to move on instead=P.

I... am... stupid... ! Have misread my guide, I didn't even mention that you could get them from the pots :O. I'm confusing myself. Think my guide needs an update, and my pegasus route as well. There might be even more errors in it. Anyway, it will save those 4 seconds you lose by lifting the pot, so go for it. And sorry for my stupidness.

Hmm, maybe I did those in my old bad manipulation way: Speed up, push it, go back one screen, push it, go back one screen etc. untill I get the seed. I did that in the beginning while I was doing my "Where to get Seeds" "walkthrough" ;D. But you'll probably get a different manipulating set up in your run, you might be able to do it anyway. EDIT: Chess... What had that to do with anything?;D But yeah, lol, I'm quite good at chess actually... Oh, you manipulate them at THAT point ?:O. Very early manipulating... Didn't know you could do it that way as well, annoying game lol.

Could you please send me a pm with a save state or the vbm or something so I can try a few things myself? I remember me being able to manipulate it without losing anytime, and I was only pressing the directions buttons. EDIT: Lol, whatever there's the movie :D. You don't need to double post in that short time, just edit. Edit again: Oh, nice! Didn't know you could destroy bombable walls using Ricky's fists :D. What a noob I am. Anyway, when you switch for the flute, you should have switched to the bracelet at the same time, and then switch for both the shovel and the pegasus seeds in the Subrosian world, will save you an item switch. Is it faster to S&Q after you've talked to Rosa? It might save time actually, but you might have tried this already. Why did you release Rightbutton before you left the Subrosian world...? Manipulating something? Can't understand what that could be... Overall, good segment. You taught me something new, now I really need to remake my speedrun. It has to be below 2 hours.

Hmm, how many frames? Is it faster to manipulate seeds from the second pot instead of the first one? I presume it will save time anyway to get 5 new seeds. Just wanted to be sure if I needed to change the route or not, but I guess I'll stick to the one I have.

I've managed to do tricks in Link's Awakening and Donkey Kong Country which have a 1 frame possibility to success with, so 20 frames is a very long time ;).

Hmm, must have forgot that :O... Shall think through if I really haven't got a reason to it.... No, can't come up with a reason. Bah, stupid me... Now I need to remake the route a bit, hmm. I'll upload the fixed version soon... But yeah, jump over the holes with the Ricky then you can get rid of him and using a seed. You have 4 of them now, right? EDIT: By the way... In dungeon 3, in the room with the hands, do you think that you can manipulate two seeds from those two pots you need to push? As you see, I've calculated that you are able to manipulate at least one of them. But if you manage to get two seeds, that would of course save time. Oh, yeah... I had calculated so you should use one more seed somewhere in dungeon 3, that means you'll have one left to be used after Subrosian. Then you only need to remove one from the numbers all the time.

Yeah, I know Evilchen, I'm using it all the time while playing on console =). About the third lvl, that was a simple test I did in like mostly 1 minute. So it's not perfect, have saved 5 frames already in it.

New WIP time, for those who cares, up to the same place as Squall ended at. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4528/MauiMallardTASTompaLvl3.smv I'm currently 173 frames faster. EDIT: Did the third lvl as well, it's so short and easy... http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4528/MauiMallardTASTompaLvl3.smv Now I haven't got anything to compare me with, buhu ;D.

Looks good. I don't know anything about the game so I can't really make a "real" comment ;). It doesn't look too hard yet, hope you'll be able to make it.

Aha, haha. Yeah, I know that jumping sucks. I actually have been testing a few things ;). I do think that the menu can be 1 frame faster, after I changed it to Hard. Didn't try this enough I belive, hmm. EDIT: Ooops, did some wrong calculations, there shall be 78 frames faster, not 82=P.

You meant when I was jumping over the "torch-thing"? I had to be damaged by the green slime, as it takes less hp than the spiders, so I could be damaged by the falling pillars later. That's the fastest way I could do. Was that your only comment?=P

Another problem, lol... Those stupid pillars that fall down on you, because I'm faster in the beginning of the lvl I pass them without getting hurt. So I guess I have to slow down a little here, sucks. EDIT: Had to make a different way to pass them, lost me 9 frames. I managed to save 8 frames in the upper area. Here's a WIP of the first lvl, 82 frames faster than Squall. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4495/MauiMallardLvl1.smv

I was kind a close with my guess then :). Oh, I didn't know you were using your PSP. Well, too bad then. Would like to have a chat with you sometimes. Was wondering... Have you been using hex editing anything so far? If I found a small improvement, it'll be quite easier for you to fix it. I really appreciate that you take your time and do this one!

Hi E_alert =). Long time I saw you in here, heh. Vespa, yeah, I read in the Bomberman topic that you wanted a break from Zelda, no worries :). Just realised that I'm not done with the Pegasus Seed route for Ages yet, argh. I've only reached just after dungeon 5, lol. I... must... work... harder...! Dez: Was wondering if you would like to visit IRC sometimes so we can chat a bit with eachother? Will make it a bit easier for you to ask questions and such. I'm there quite often. 21%... hmm, you've soon got the Summer, right?

When you come back, Stef, you can take a look at this: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4458/Sword%2BShield.vbm It could maybe be useful somewhere:). I don't think I need to explain what's happening, heh. I'm going to see if you can obtain keys this way too. Might be able to skip the leaves... =). (Yes, you may kill me if I find it possible.)

To the beginning of the first lvl, I made it 20 frames faster than you. I maybe shall try a bit harder with this this time =). Have you got some tips for me? Things that's faster than other and such. Haven't tested anything myself yet, hardly. Just did the same things as you did in your run. Btw, did you reach anymore than the first two lvls? Like if you have half lvl 3 done as well or something like that. EDIT: Improved the start menu with 8 frames more, lol. Think I can shave off even more... EDIT again: Omg... I just can't make it to the lift the same frame as you... (First lift in the game...) I'm doing all the jumps before (From coming out of the door) exactly the same, but I'm always one frame behind you in the end anyway. This's starting to annoy me. 80 frames saved up to this part anyway.
