I read somewhere that you need a "patched" or "hacked" version of SNES9X to run some files because SNES9X is not supposed to accept input like Up+Down at the same and such. Where can I get this patch ? I think that may be the cause of the last run for A Link to the Past. It seems that the input is "out of sync" and that makes Link move randomly in his house. Is it the reason behind that "bug" ? Thanks for your help...

I'd like to see a complete run (all items and bosses) using the L+R glitch... The FDS version's correct name should be Link no Bouken (transliteration of the japanese title), that would be my explanation as why it's listed under "L"... Imagine the team that made the game looking at this video. I wish I could see their faces of awe... I remember playing this game like crazy around 1990 (I was 7 at that time), and when I think about the time taken by GigaFrost, it's frightening. Hours and hours spent trying to get through the game... Sniff... Yet, I had a strange feeling because in that time, my brother had inadvertently discovered the L+R trick and we found it very amusing, and tried to reproduce it like crazy, not realizing that someday, a crazy guy would finish the game in under 7 minutes using this glitch...

The VBM file doesn't seem to work with me. I downloaded the prog, the ROM, but when I try to play it back, it doesn't appear in the list. It really has the .vbm extension, but VisualBoyAdvance can't recognize the file. What's wrong ?

The point was probably debated earlier in the subject, but anyway... I'm quite sure there's either a big glitch in Zelda 1 or it's a cheat, which is quite unlikely, but to my eye, it seems like cheating... In the AVI video of sleepzteam, at exactly 5m22s17f, Link gets hit by Gleeok. At this point, he has one heart left. No matter if Gleeok damages by one heart or half a heart, Link should have either half a heart left, or been killed right away, which is not the case. Anyone has an explanation for this ? Bonus question : can anyone tell me where I can find the previous time attack record for Zelda 1 ?

I've got the ROM and the infamous disksys.rom file for FDS cartridges to work properly. But after the selection screen, it gets all black and it says "CHANGE SIDE B". What does that mean and I'm supposed to do to start playing ? I use RockNES.

Back in the time when I played Zelda 2 on a real NES, I found a strange glitch that was really funny to watch. It is quite hard to achieve something productive using the trick (and it's MUCH easier using an emulator) and I discovered that you can go through doors in a snap. With this trick, I can complete the first palace in about 2:30, and I could set it down to less than 2 minutes if I can control the trick neatly. I would like to record a "first draft" of a Fast Run (or maybe a Time Attack) before revealing the trick to anyone. Yet, I don't know if it should be considered "legal glitch exploit". I think it should since the same behavior could be reproduced with the real cartridge.
