Can I vote no based on game choice? I wasn't entertained at all. You just destroy the game that badly. (I'll refrain from voting.)

It's cute, but it loses something from the Family Feud TAS because you don't see what the real answers were.

I am perfectly fine with accepting speed runs of fighting games, hence I voted yes.

Does Super Metroid get to be the exception where both a real-time and in-game time run can co-exist? If everyone were slobbering over a game like... say, Star Ocean: The Second Story, which also has an in-game timer used to judge console speedruns, would the community accept two separate runs if one has a time-wasting trick to lessen the in-game time? I seriously doubt it, because SO2 isn't Super Metroid.
For the record, I would totally slobber over any SO2 TAS. The key for SM is that given that the tricks to optimize in-game versus real-time actually changed the route significantly, it was worth publication.

Do you plan to increase the current run? it is definetly improvable and I would love to see it improved with all the things you are doing!
What specifically do you think is improvable? Making LUA scripts that show the work Deign basically did already doesn't save frames.

I would've actually prefered to see some combo breakers on Combo's part, and to try and get the max hits Ultra combo at least once. If you prefer a perfect game, then perhaps Spinal or Sabrewulf would be better (as you can still get max hits without taking damage)

Just want you guys to know, you have a very interested observer waiting eagerly for this TAS! Best of luck! I think one major thing to figure out would be the optimal Arm Strength building spot...

seems like this would just be fixed by right clicking and choosing 'Run as Administrator' if you have those rights.

I would watch any TAS of La Mulana, no matter the length.

I think this is two separate questions. -Should the coin trigger be allowed beyond initial setup? Yes, absolutely, it is an input on the machine, and easily abused in real time as well. -Should excessive continues be used? If it's faster, I say go for it.

I don't know if there are any actual games that would be impossible to TAS, but I know that you can certainly make impossible challenges if you really want to. I'd like to see someone beat the Final Fantasy VI All Imp, No Equipment, No Magic, No Specials, No Items, Lowest Levels, Fewest Steps Challenge (AINENMNSNILLFSC). No amount of luck manipulation can kill Kefka with those limitations in place...
Posing an impossible challenge doesn't make much sense. You might just well say "beat the game in one frame".
Perhaps, but I'd still like to see the attempt.

Hoorah! I love BoF3! I love it so much that I made an account just so I can contribute to this run, even if remotely. Nice work on the WIP, so far. I hope I can be of some help by mentioning some things I've noticed while watching the WIP. Would it be faster to: 1) Just let Rei do the attacking during the early part of the game? Ryu and Teepo's damage/animation time do not seem to be outweigh another turn of Rei getting a critical and, say the Nue's, extra attack. 2) Manipulate Bombers from 'The Dump' to drop Ivory Dice? They drop at 1/128th chance. They could possibly be used for leveling Ryu up to an extreme level when killing the Dodai so you can later just manipulate criticals instead of opt'ing for super combo. 3) Defeat Claw and then defeat the Dodai as to get a Speed Boots drop from Claw at 1/32nd chance? They give +10 speed and might save you a few minutes of enemy attack animation. 4) Pick up a Flare Sword after Mt. Zublo for future fights? Both Dragon Zombie and Huge Slug take 200% damage from fire attacks. You can buy one from Urkan Tapa or give a Claymore to Beyd so that he turns that into the Flare Sword after his fight. 5) Get the Dragon Zombie to drop the Dragon Tear? I think you, janus, mentioned selling the Beast Spear for dough. This is probably excessive since the sell value is 30k zenny as well as the drop rate being 1/256. Ugh. But, just throwing out options. 6) Ignore Rei and not revive him during the Mikba fight? It doesn't seem like the time it takes to Influence him is worth the damage compared to Ryu's alone. 7) Use Frost Breath on the Gaist fight to kill the Torches so they don't do their Flare animation? Does keeping them around help you get EX Turns? Otherwise, I'd say wipe them out first. 8) Use Focus/Focus/Gambit instead of Focus/Gambit/Focus/Gambit in the Angler fight? By the way, I would love it if you got the GooKing Sword. Although, I can't imagine it saving you more than one or two attacks against Myra.
I was saving an analysis for after I saw the whole run, but echo basically everything said here.

Haha, love how the final airship actually follows physics and is blocked by the rock. TAS of the year, folks. Remember it in December.

http://rapidshare.com/files/441546344/movie.pxm back in McNeil. I guess I will still need dragon genes, at least for elemental fights. I can "only" do 32 hits with supercombo, and focus onlt seems to work for one turn
Yes, Focus is one attack only, but you can double Focus for 4x.

Pretty crazy. I watched the whole thing - about halfway through he changes his technique for the weapon glitch, looks like he could probably save a bit of time there. Looks like we've got a benchmark now, though. Can we break 2 hours?

I agree, a TAS of this would be pretty amazing looking (as I never figured out how to optimize levelling for boss purposes) - if you could manipulate Power gains, that'd be excellent.

93th? How do you even say that? Yes.
You say it whoops-but-at-least-we-fixed-it-in-the-next-version. Where were the improvements?
Some kind of pause trick, shortening stage transitions.

My point wasn't that that run needs a star - obviously it'd have to be submitted first. My point was that it's an example of an impressive arcade beat 'em up TAS.

I don't agree, I didn't think the TMNT TAS was all that impressive. You want an impressive Arcade TAS? D&D: Shadow Over Mystara. Not even close. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4925d3WKhuY
