I've had the same problem as you 12Motion. I have no idea why this happens, and I could never fix it. Switching to another emulator probably works.

Wtf. I don't like those Mega Man always slidings-dashing, Contra Hardcorps always sliding and Blue Shadow always jumping. Well if it is the way to do this game faster then I'm not gonna do this game and even watching it. Too miserable.
You don't seem to have problems with doing other tricks to get ahead faster. Why sliding or jumping in particular? If there is a run button, is it miserable to use it all the time? If there is a slide button, is it miserable to use it all the time?

Part of other videos have been made with hex editing. Often menues and such things, where behaviour is easily predicted. But the easiest way to get the right button sequence is more than often just to input it by playing the game.

>Because I can see how atoms combine to form molecules I can indeed test that 2 hydrogens an combine with 1 oxygen to form the molecule of water. Well, you can't really. :) There are no optical microscopes that good, and electron microscopes are not very good at showing motion. There are good reasons other than directly seeing for believing 2H + O = water (or rather, 2*H2 + O2 = H2O + energy, since oxygen almost always comes in pairs). Says me, who is also a science nerd.

Yes, I have all the maths down already, what I didn't get was this: >I got it with two controllers up to 132 frames now, which is just as fast as the sleepzteam run. But he originally said that he found a way to do it in 126.

Just because there is more data per frame doesn't mean that there should be more frames, does it? I don't get it.

This has happened so often now that I dare to formulate... The Tool Assisted speed run golden rule: Always make two runs and submit the second one.

>Then restart it and play it as 2p from the very beginning. It will probably look better. Depends... if Baxter made a video but realized he needed to press UP+A on the second controller after a while, it would be nice to correct that instead of remaking the whole video. Perhaps Baxter should give us some more info on his problem before we (I) jump to conclusions.

>There is no way to activate the second controller in recording after you started making your fmv with only one controller? Quite possibly there is. But 2:nd player won't be moving up until the point where the demo ends. >(starting a new fmv with 2 players, and copying the fmv I already made onto the new fmv with a binary editor doesn't seem to work) Probably because 2 players has double the amount of data per frame. Hopefully someone of the coding geniuses here can help you.

Walker Boh: >I own this game and if I remember correctly you MUST complete it twice to finish the game correctly. Yes, but this is also the case for G&G on NES, and that game completed only once is an accepted submission here.

>anybody knows how they program the ramdom battle encounters? Though I am not certain how it works in FFIII, I know how it works in FF1. Every time you enter/exit (don't know which) a battle, a counter is set to a random number (within some limit, probably). This counter is decreased every time you take a step on a potentially hostile tile. When the counter reaches zero battle starts. Thus, the only way to fiddle with the random battles would be either to play around differently right before battle starts, or right before battle ends. From what Jyzero tells us, it sounds like it works the same way in FFIII. The counter position, as well as when it changes (before or after battle) shouldn't be too hard to figure out for the hackers here. It could then be peeked while playing so that you always get the biggest/smallest possible value, whichever you want.

English is always spelled with a capital E, but I tend to miss that too. The reason people reacted could be that you didn't put it as "hey you messed up" but as "hey your english is crap". Anyway, the most recent (in fact only) console I own is the Mega Drive. We had a Master System converter, does that count?

Well, for someone from San Diego, you seem to have problems spelling both Minnesota and English. This means that your rate of errors per text is larger than the one you are complaining at, which could look stupid to an outside observer. :P~

I've seen a lot of "LAST POST EVAR!!!!!1!1one". Trust me, they always come back. In any case, I find it hilarious how he can write pages and pages of trash about us and compare Bisqwit to Hitler, but runs away sobbing for one post at a messageboard. "OH MOMMY! Someone wrote something bad about me on teh intarnet!! It's not funny, people are going to read that!" But, as we know, two standards are twice as good as one. >:D

I'm also there, which is strange since I haven't gotten any movies published. So they must be either going through the submissions or vaccuuming the forums for names. The list of movies is only four days behind the updates here. These guys (although the creator of the site purports to be a girl) obviosly have a lot of spare time. Xerophyte is listed with five stars ***** too, even though I don't think he has any movies here. Hey X, what did you do to deserve that decoration? :)

If you don't put in your initials in Streets of Rage 2, the game stops and you will never see the ending demo (which almost always is also encoded in the video file). This is probably the reason in this particular case.

I know it fairly well. >1. Do I have to talk to the red guys? No. They only tell you the background story and/or location of hidden rooms, which are the same every time anyway. It's the same for the kids. >2. Do I have to enter the secret rooms? No. But it might be a good idea, this is one of the things you'll have to experiment with. Usually you gain a longer POW meter in the secret rooms. It makes your special techniques slower to charge, but they last longer / possibly become more powerful. I don't know if it pays off in the long run. >3. Do I obtain magic/techniques after each boss or some where else? After each boss. Also about the bosses, I'm not sure but possibly you give more damage if you stand close to them.

Has anyone considered doing Wrath of the Black Manta for NES? I think it could be interesting, minus the kiteflying. Anyone familiar with this game?

My guess is that it would get tiresome pretty fast. But that's just a guess, since i haven't seen your attempt. You do as you please, ultimately.

12Motion; I don't understand your sentence: >You don't get tp pick any weapons or anything, but there are many weapons you find in the levels. So you don't get to pick up any weapons, but there are weapons lying around in the levels (for looking at?). It doesn't seem to make any sense.

Definitely Star Force. :) Thanks a bunch. That was one of the first NES games I ever played.
