>I don't really see how her songs are any worse than other pop songs being put out right now/recently. I agree that all of these are pretty horrible, but one thing they have going for them is that there isn't a guitar and bass player pretending to play their instruments when there is no guitar or bass to be heard in the song.

Temple level by sonikkustar added on: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/933307905/TAZ-JULY%2014.gmv I'll try to improve it and then record the next level. Same procedure as always.

Here is the improved river ending and new plant boss. 6 frames saved from using the first no-weed bag. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1812750787/TAZ-JULY%2013.gmv

Hey Sonikkustar and Aqfaq/Anoobis, I improved the river level a couple of frames by changing the ending to get less lag. I will make an attempt at the plant boss and upload something after that. My guess is that my attempt will look very similar to the current run, since none of the new tricks seem to apply here.

Judging from the name, I think it's a she. :) According to this paper, linked from the video description, the amount of training makes all the difference. Humans with similar amounts of training get the same results as the chimp. http://www.springerlink.com/content/h842v2702r60u481/ The result is impressive but not that surprising, given that chimpanzees (along with bonobos) are our closest living evolutionary ancestors.

Mine is 3D Mario spinning around. I found it somewhere on the net (/gif/?) and was pretty amazed noone here already used it. It used to be a judge's mallet with truncated written in truncated japanese text on it, but that was on Highness' server which is now gone.

I guess your options are to 1) not take damage somewhere else (how much time does that cost?), or 2) not take damage here (how much time does that cost?). After you test both, choose the one which is faster.

Hello Infinite Combos, and welcome. I watched your movie. On TASvideos, we usually make movies as fast as possible. For fighting games though, this usually becomes very boring to watch, so the custom is to fill fighting game movies with glitches and variety instead. This movie had some good points, like punching Reptile, but too many bad points, like using the same combo with Shang Tsung over and over again and repeatedly missing with the fireballs. If you watch the movie already published for UMK3, you will see what we are after. Hope you stay around. Good luck with your future movies!

Here is the last rubber elevator version. EVER. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/967020031/TAZ-JUNE21%20new%20elevator%2013683%20with%20ending.gmv It is 13 frames improved over the previous one and everything including how to enter the elevator is remade. (If someone makes an improvement, that someone should figure out how to bot it. There are too many combinations to test all of them manually.) I added on the ending. I remember that the warp position in the next level depends heavily on the y position in the previous level. So the last elevator can be saved to reach many different y positions. Or it can be spin-jumped to reach the end sooner if that isn't necessary. Testing that will take some Aqfaqing, I think. Go go go!

Here is the improved movie. It gets to x>=2126 at frame 13696. The previous one was 13719, so 23 frames improvement. I started with redoing the last set of jumps and got some improvement, tried redoing the last two and got this, so I'm thinking I'll try to redo the whole three sets. The comparison method I used was to check the bottom-most position and time (lower and earlier is better). >Evidence shows that it is MORE EFFECTIVE AGAINST SPECIFIC TYPES OF CANCER (caps locked because you didn't get it the first time) than chemo or radiation. You wrote "As I understood it," however, you understood incorrectly. I was saying that the people that can testify for Burzynski's methods have their own personal medical records to back up their statements. That is good evidence. I got it fine and your caps lock isn't necessary. I am simply telling you that you are wrong. - There is no evidence that it is more effective than other treatments because none of his published research has had a control group. Also, the sample sizes have been very small and there has been no blinding. All in all it is textbook examples of extremely shoddy science. - Medical records are not good evidence. Only looking at the successful cases without any statistics or control behind it can make any treatment look successful. Take for example bloodletting with leeches. It was continued for 2000 years, in spite of being harmful to the patients, exactly because they used the approach you are suggesting. Thanks for your time, I think I'm done.

Quake! :O There are very good speedruns (spliced together from segmented single level runs) and the source is available. Abuse! The source is available, and there is a Windows version. MDK! MDK2! And perhaps some strategy, but they will be long: Command & Conquer Warcraft 2 Starcraft

Hey tasers! This summer I am going to Iceland, Reykjavik. I am not very well informed what to do or see there. Are there any Icelanders or people knowledgeable to who could give some suggestions on what to eat and where to go and what to see, etc? If someone has the guts to meet up, that would be cool too. :)

I am not sure how to respond. You are welcome? You said as much about nfq, and since the rest of us are not persuaded by your documentary, I guess you consider us crazy/misguided/blind/deluded, too. I don't mind. Like I said, it's in the eye of the beholder.

I can't even describe how shitty of an analogy that is. Those personal accounts you mentioned would have to be believed by trust, not evidence/proof. The ones I was referring to, I believe because of multiple human medical records, not simply word of mouth.
As I understood it, your reason for believing this man was 1) published medical results, and 2) personal accounts. Judging from what you wrote above, you seem to agree with me that personal accounts are extremely unreliable, have to be taken on faith and do not constitute evidence/proof. Great, we agree on something! I wrote in the previous post three strong reasons why the medical results were unconvincing. As I understand it you choose to believe this man in spite of the abysmal level of his published work and lack of repeatability of his results. So be it then, but that is not going to convince anyone else. Your argument that the FDA (and by extension all comparable organizations in other countries and all other medical researchers, since all those must also agree to keep silent) are evil seems to rest on the notion that this man is right. I guess you could narrow it down to two basic options (somewhat simplified): A) The FDA, comparable organizations in other countries and other medical researchers are suppressing Burzynski's research and willingly letting millions of people die in cancer, including themselves and their relatives, in order to make money somehow. B) Burzynski is lying about his results in order to make money selling his medicine. One alternative is infinitely more likely than the other, even without knowing the quality of Burzynski's research.

Let me just say, I'm not some crazy conspiracy theorist. *looks at nfq*.
Well, crazy is in the eyes of the beholder. I (and most others here it seems) think the conspiracy theory that the FDA and its counterparts in all other industrialized countries and all independent researchers are silencing Burzunski are no less crazy than what nfq is claiming.
sonicpacker wrote:
I'm also going to point out, I don't believe that Burzynski's "find" is a miracle cure by any means. Results have shown that it is 25-ish% effective when dealing with specific types of cancer, with no harmful side effects.
I guess we disagree on whether this has been shown. You think it has been shown since an online documentary says so. I think it has not been shown because a) the only studies that claim these results are those by Burzynski himself, b) these studies have laughable sample sizes, no double-blinding, and no control group, making them worthless, and c) other scientists have not been able to replicate the results.
sonicpacker wrote:
I don't know how any of you guys can call it fraud when there are multiple personal accounts of Burzynski's method working.
Because personal accounts mean NOTHING. Unless there is a control group, it is impossible to know how effective the treatment is, and how many of those that tried it that did not improve with his method, and how many who would have improved anyway. There are also multiple personal accounts of alien contact, crystal healing, astrology, and (conflicting) accounts of religious contact with god. Do you believe all these to be true, too? In the dark ages before the scientific method, doctors thought that sucking blood out of seriously ill patients with leeches made them better (it made them worse), because they were trusting personal accounts and not comparing it with no treatment at all.

"The real point is that the FDA is run by money grubbing whores that don't actually care about what's best for the people of the US." I still believe that statement is true and it would be very difficult to change my opinion on that.
Admittedly I don't know much about the FDA, mostly about its counterparts in Sweden. I don't see what they could possibly gain (financially or otherwise) from trying to silence a treatment for cancer. And why didn't they do the same with the cure for tuberculosis, which in its time killed and crippled a comparable amount of people as cancer today? Or measles? Or smallpox?

A question for sonicpacker, if you are still in this topic. By your own reckoning there are a lot of intelligent people here. How do you feel about the fact that people seem to be very distrusting of the documentary you posted? Does it weaken your beliefs in its message, doesn't change your opinion, or even reinforce your beliefs? -------------- The reason stuff like this really gets to me, more than other stupid conspiracy theories about UFO sightings, Chemtrails, lunar landings, and other batshit insane stuff, is that this targets and abuses people in a disastrous situation that are desperate for finding a cure for their problems, and does so for profit. I am not mad with the people who are swayed by it (like the people here), though they are part of the problem, but in a way they are victims too.

However, they have been shown to provide a mortality rate >0%, which if more than you can say if you have most cancers.
Minor nitpick: shouldn't this be survival rate >0%, or mortality rate <100%?

Thanks antd for the encode, but the credits are wrong as seen on the youtube comment page. I managed to cut out 13 frames on the elevator. I started from Sonikku's attempt and removed the down-jumps at the bottom which weren't adding that much depth. Because of this the jumps at the apex are higher, but it pays off. I used x>=2126 as the comparison point, this works reasonably well. Here is the movie: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/542523587/TAZ-JUNE21%20new%20elevator.gmv

I would like some more opinions on this. In my opinion, it's a very well made run. However, this game has 4 different standard endings, and 4 different playable characters. This run gets the same ending as the 1-player run and uses the same character, with Browny added in. Perhaps a different route and two different characters would have been better?

I sincerely recommend not wasting your time with this movie. Everything about it quacks Fraud. Government conspiracy coverup and cure for cancer that is being denied the masses! As has been pointed out, in countries where the state pays for most of medicine (and thus would profit from having as cheap medicine as possible), this would be great news. But it isn't, because it's fake. By the way "no side effects" is a sure sign that a drug also has "no actual effects".

Hi dudes! I continued recording a few more frames up to the hard part (the rubber elevator). I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out, the falling elevators + rats was not trivial. It is possible to go through the wall/corners if you rev up the spin a bit. Here is the movie: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1392928503/TAZ-JUNE19%20-%20edit.gmv I suggest we all make a try each at the elevator, and improve on each other's movies. Here is a script which shows the elevator position, speed and acceleration: http://pastebin.com/aR8CzBz7

I loved the part where the guy shouts "bantilla!" three times in a row, that was pretty great. The space invader clone was too messy though, too much going on at the same time. Still, I think overall it was a nice TAS. I vote Yes.

Mormon mission? :( I have been interested in this game too, but the autoscrollers and length put me off. It's so stupid... the game has everything, nice graphics, good controls, pumping soundtrack... and absolutely horribly bland and repetitive level design. It was a very nice teaser in any case. :)
