They mostly talked about number of presses/releases, yeah, but bkDJ's program calculates both, so the number I wrote is comparable to yours: how many frames has any input at all. I watched through the end of the movie to see bosses get killed by BANE. Still funny. :)

>Over 96% of the frames in this movie have no input. I don't know if anyone has ever considered tracking this, but it has to be some sort of record. There was some discussion about this a while ago, in Thread #7082: Minimal Presses. bkDJ made a program to check (among other things) how many frames are empty. Get it at http://www.mediafire.com/?a0chh0i0vqi [737] SNES Kirby's Dream Course by gocha in 1:11:36.52 has input for 2.7% of its frames, for example.

>Or more to the point, what good would it possibly do for me to make a guess? You are of course in no way obligated to answer any of my questions. Your answer to why God lets Satan run around hurting people seems to be "I don't know, it doesn't make sense to me either, but God is smarter than me, so it must be the right thing." (my interpretation of what you wrote). So this goes back to the other question: how do you know that the Bible is true and gives a correct view of God?

>The relevant thing is: Is the idea founded firmly in the Bible? If it is not, i.e. it is just someone's well-intentioned idea, chances are that it is influenced by the master of all false gods, the great liar, the enemy of souls, who uses your actions to assert his dominion over the humanity, ... I assume you talk about "Satan" or somesuch here. 1) How do we know Satan didn't write the Bible? It's what I would do if I was Satan. I would also portray God as a jealous jerk who kills people for minor transgressions and then tortures them in hell forever. 2) Is God more powerful than Satan? I assume your position is that he is. Why doesn't God just take away Satan's powers, or lock him up where he can't mislead humans? Especially since you think God gets very sad when Satan tricks us to decorate trees. Before you answer, think to yourself: did I just now invent a rationalization to be able to continue believing? Should belief be more important than reason and logic?

>Stars don't do anything except give you some points. Are you sure? You seem to get an extra life just as you get 50 stars. What is the wobbling in some places about? It it a faster way to accelerate or something else? It first happens 23 seconds in. What are the keys that appear sometimes, and the room that you end up in if you touch them? Some explanation on that would be nice.

It always makes me sad when someone dies young. :( I hope everyone has signed up to be organ donors when you die. It's a good choice to make for someone else.

I have trouble understanding what you are saying. Can you rephrase?

Hmm, is diagonal movement really as fast as straight movement? When I try it out it doesn't seem to be. Frame 1450 looks strange because of this.

Hi! There is a search box on the front page of the site. You have to remember to include submissions too (there's a checkbox after you search the first time) , otherwise you won't find everything. We have a run for Toki, but for Genesis. Neofix has made a run for NES, which was deemed not good enough: http://tasvideos.org/537S.html You can find an encode on Youtube. Perhaps it can be made more interesting with better playing. I hadn't seen Thrillas Surfari, but maybe it could work as a TAS, like if it's possible to get to a higher speed than you normally would. Excite bike style!

Hello Timmy and welcome to TASvideos! - This run chooses normal difficulty. In general we prefer hard difficulty. What is the difference between different difficulty settings in this game? - There doesn't seem to be any point in picking up the potions. They make you invincible, but there's a pause and a small animation before you are allowed to move again. It seems like it would be faster to avoid them where possible. - There is visible lag when there are a lot of enemies onscreen. Would it be faster to kill some of them? - The movement of some places seems strange, the earliest being frame 370, where you hit a ledge and lose your speed.

For anyone listening, we have finished stage 4 and boss 4, and made tests for stage 5 to decide which weapon to go with (bombs again) and how the searchlights and moving targets work (synched at staged start). We thought we might have another RNG hell on our hands, like stage 3 and 4, but it seems this level is pretty static!

I have thought about the Strike games. I think they could be fun for a TAS, but I'm not sure how long they would be. Do you have any estimate? I think in the SNES version you can strafe while you fire the Hellfire missiles. Snes9x is crashing and reporting virus infection, so... I can't check exactly how it works. Perhaps it's not so important for a TAS. How about the graphics, sound, etc?

Hey! I think it's one of those game that you have to have played to enjoy watching. To me it looks like just running around and getting through some dialog boxes most of the time. I suppose there is a lot of strategy behind it. How long do you expect a run to be? In any case, post what information you have on the game, it's such a waste if it gets lost.

Do we get to know what the other games you were considering, Truncated? I just want to know for curiosity's sake.
I have considered it but not made up my mind. What do people think? Pros: - People can find games worth making runs of outside the competition. - People are curious what games were suggested and it's nice to satisfy them. Cons: - It becomes harder to select a game for the next Dream Team contest, assuming the emulator is still going to be announced before the game. This is especially the case for emulators which only had 1 or 2 suggested games. I would hate it if one team won because they guessed the correct game and had a weeks headstart, and the other teams guessed incorrectly. - More a personal thing, but people were going "this game sucks and I hate you" when I announced it, and I can do without a "you should have chosen game X instead!!!"-debate. ---------- Something else, which I already said in IRC: I think team 5's movie is good enough to submit as it is. Of course if they or someone else wants to make an improved version, that is fine, but it's probably going to take a while.

I think everything except the last level (Endless Mine) is my input. I'm pretty sure my input could be improved by a few frames, especially in Desert Palace where some laps are faster than others. I have no idea how optimally Endless Mine was done (yet). EDIT: it can definitely be improved, I got a 0"35 faster first lap with Knuckles without much iteration.
So... this is not the movie we are looking for.

I voted meh, and I agree with moozooh. It's an interesting glitch, but I liked the previous movie because there was variety and lightning-fast combos, flinging the opponent all over the place. Using this glitch removes all of that. Perhaps there could be a 2-player play-around as well as a speed run...

It is not the day of the start yet where I am... timezone magic! But anyway, I suggest you direct all questions about the emulator to adelikat, I have no insight in how it's going, what the changes are, or anything. He just offered to do it so that everyone would be on equal ground.

Heh, I remember playing this. It's just as crappy as it looks. This though, is full of surprises and awesome moves. My favourite is when the opponent explodes twice. I vote yes!

I have added two new teams! mz, sorry, I had missed that part of your post. I have removed you from the random roster. It's unfortunate, the reason the time was increased was so more people should be able to participate... Personman, yeah, that's no problem.

I have added NitroGenesis, clarified Mitjitsu's restrictions on emulator, and removed MUGG's restrictions on emulator. Also, times in CET are now added. Personman, I haven't added you to the random list. My interpretation was that you don't want to be counted as a "full" player, but rather tag along a team and help out. I'm sure there will be teams looking for extra help. If I misinterpreted, tell me and we'll fix it.
