>The rules says that games should be played at the hardest difficulty, but that is it. However, games has a lot more settings than this. We also have a lot more rules than that one. There is already a rule for PAL/NTSC framerate. Games should be recorded at the correct setting. That is, PAL games as 50Hz. Ach ja. We also specify English if possible. This is what the majority of the audience will understand. For game versions, the latest. Both of these can be overridden if the German/0.9 version has an interesting bug. For the other stuff, I'm not sure.

Well, I guess it's time for my first published run to finally be obsoleted. This is quite the improvement. :) I liked Woods of Despair 1 the best. Here's to hoping for more KC runs in the future. BTW RandomPie, the http://tasvideos.org/KidChameleonTricks.html page could use some updating from you. Especially the jumping speed and turning around in the air could use your attention.

Did we get stuck on the pretty unimportant part of how many digits to use, when everything else was settled? :/ Then it's 5 digits, and that's final.

Any voting system is open to tactical voting if the votes so far are shown. It's not something special with approval voting.

I vote Yes and that Kriole writes CastlevaniaAriaOfSorrowTricks.html. This game is just filled to the brim with this stuff.

Hello people. Some people have said (for example in best TAS of the year) that they would have liked to choose two or more runs. Also, some polls had to be reset with only the two/three top choices since there were so many options. Plenty of research has been done on different voting systems. One which appears to fix both the problems above is Approval voting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Approval_voting This would require changing the poll from radio buttons (only one choice) to check boxes (multiple choice). Not sure how hardcoded that is in the forum engine...

Thanks arflech and Kuwaga. It was fun to see this being explained. :) I think it is interesting that the number of shuffles isn't larger, since there are so many (52!) possible orderings of a deck. After reading Wolfram Alpha, it seems that 52 cards -> 52 in-shuffles is not a coincidence. I happens for decksizes N where N+1 is prime.

I guess I am one of the few people who have actually played this game on a console... I agree with what people said above, this movie is not likely to get published. But since I guess you are doing it for your own amusement, here are my tips: On the first level, it is possible to jump to grab the bird, which flies you ahead at high speed. I'm not sure if this is faster since you are already going at max speed. Worth testing. For the long jump it would be more interesting to see how long you can jump, under optimal conditions. For the seal, it would be nice to see a million balls juggled. For the unicycle thing, jumping is slower than going along the ground. This is especially obvious when you jump down a ledge. If there's a way to avoid this, perhaps it could be faster. The other timed events are hard to make interesting.

I have one... Assume you have a regular deck of cards with 52 cards. You shuffle this deck by splitting it in two halves, let's call it the bottom half and the top half. You mix the cards by taking every other from the top half and the bottom half. For simplicity, let's say the top card of the top half is first, so it always stays on top. It's the most common shuffle type: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh8iMZY4Nb4 Now... how many such shuffles do you need to perform before you are back to the original order of the deck?

>Note, this thread is a bad idea, and won't go any place nice. I know you are trying to be funny, but since the above is true, why do it?

I can throw together Alien Soldier and Bloodlines tricks pages in about 5 minutes. Actually I think I'll do that after I submit this post. We could just start doing this after every submission where some tricks are used... is there a tricks page for the game? If no, add one. If yes, add whatever new info in the submission. Another thing, the recent changes seems pretty impossible to find nowadays. I think the last 6-8 changes could be on the front page. This was one of the pages I used to check to see if any article i was interested in had changed, and if there was any info I could add on the subject. While on the topic of the front page... Besides latest edited articles, I think the News should be on there, and the proportions of the other items should be changed. How about, for example 8 latest published movies 8 latest submissions 8 latest news items 8 latest edited articles 4 recommended movies Also, mz suggested earlier that more people should have the ability to add News items, for example when releasing a new version of an emulator. I don't know how this works today, but that sounds like a good idea to me.

Probably the known problem that after the server move, some people have trouble staying logged in. Delete your cookies for Tasvideos, and try again.

Well... I still think game name should be first. (This is also what you said in your first post on the subject, arki.) The game name is by far the thing you are most likely to sort by/search for. When looking for that Battletoads movie, I don't want to see all movies starting with "NES-". Therefore I think that this would be better: game-system-category-movienumber-authors.fileextension Otherwise, it looks very good!

I thought this was nice. Voted yes. I hope there is some competition on this, it looks like a good game for that.

For reference, here is the old topic: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6500 We should just do this...

Well, CtrlAltDestroy already said what I was going to say :( "Last post ever" posts are never last posts. (However, "first post!" posts are first posts most of the time.)

Mega Man X6 is linked to the wrong movie. It should be 1274, not 1247. I am not sure what to vote for.

It seems that Dammit was nominated but not included in the poll. Unless there was a very good reason for this, I suggest that the poll is reset with him included.

This category feels like we are voting for games rather than movies...

I liked Aos 100%, Gunstar super heroes, and Ninja Five-O about equally. Ninja Five-O gets my vote to cheer up the underdog.

I vote Lord Tom. Happy Lee found some new interesting tricks and produced many movies, but only for one game engine (essentially).

I vote Kid Chameleon. Crusader of Centy was also very good, but KC was non-stop awesome.
