There has been a few other topics about this before, one which I started. I agree that the naming scheme should be changed.

>After ending stage 1 we considered the possibility of canceling the movie and start a new one from scratch with glitches, stunts and gags but inevitably slower, but we assumed it would have been immediately rejected. We have plenty of playaround movies not aiming for speed (but still being reasonably fast). Many of them are fighting games, for example Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat series. So you do not need to worry about immediate rejection.

I am probably the hugest SoR2 fan here (but you know that already since you took the moves list from my FAQ). It's obvious you have a very good technical understanding of this game. My opinion of this movie is that it contains way too much Max, and too much Atomic drop. You should let at least one character be someone else... Skate is a good idea (can keep up with the scroll speed). You don't need to aim for time. Aim for entertainment and variety. There are lots of other cool stuff you could do. Like kill all the bikers. Or trigger all the jets on boss 6 just because you can handle it. Do some double throws. Let the crazy stuff stay, like escaping from Max's atomic drop with a headbutt from Skate. And the Vehelits ping-pong. Overall, I don't find this to be publishable material. Please consider taking peoples' comments here into consideration and making a new, completely awesome run.

>it would be irresponsible of me to submit a run and provide you with an encode right off the bat. I agree, that was pretty irresponsible of you. Nice run though, I will vote yes.

I liked this, obviously, since I'm a huge Streets of Rage nerd. Good moves, good tricks. I would love a 2-player movie. With Skate.

Oh look! It's this old thing again!

We (me and Warp) have been over the luck manipulation thing before (I don't feel like digging up the topic), I still think that it will be a huge amount of pointless debate about what movie deserves what category, if this movie doesn't manipulate more than than movie, what counts as significant luck manipulation, etc. Just look at how much debate there has been about which movies should have a star. It's essentially the same for splitting it into major/minor categories. What do you judge it on? How hard it was to accomplish or how small the chance was? How much time you actually saved by manipulating luck? How impressive it looks? "Why doesn't my movie get the major tag, I manipulated luck a lot :( " The easiest thing is to apply the category for every movie that manipulates luck (or uses glitches), no matter how minor, and leave the rest to the description. I think our viewers have no problem identifying Monopoly as a movie which manipulates luck more than the others, as it is now.

>Although neither Nitsuja nor Upthorn were actively involved in this improvement, they are listed as co-authors because their input comprises over 90% of the movie. The submission form goes by the nickname field, not the real name field (where they are indeed listed). I suggest you add them in the nickname field too, if you want to list them as co-authors. I will watch this as soon as possible, it sounds intriguing.

I liked it, for the most part. I will vote yes. Like i said earlier when I watched this, just making the character go HOO HOO HAH HAH as much as possible isn't very entertaining. It would be possible to do so much more (like dance and HOO to the music).

Hmm. I am very happy to see this done. I started a run but got stuck since I was too aggressive with the damage at the start of the level, and poor luck with the shots from the bad guys. You seem to have handled it well. However, there is a big mistake in the second level. There is a secret passage from the wagon with a magician's hat on it. Jump on the entrance on the left. It teleports you forward 4 wagons. Therefore I hope that you will cancel this submission and include that trick.

What i meant is that both executables (new and old 1d) are 262 144 bytes. The RAR is different size, yes. For me MMV works as it should also, it is GMV i have problems with. I'll PM the error i get.

This still doesn't work for me... did you upload the correct version? It is the exact same filesize as the one before. Or... I guess that is not so strange if all you did was change OR to AND. Perhaps I am doing something wrong.

>or you missed important data like movie format, i tried with vbm I did miss that, i tried with GMV. The file was not open anywhere else. klmz seems to know what the problem is anyway.

I have problems with adding frames and saving. It isn't a new problem. Steps to replicate: - open any file - right click and select Add Frame(s) anywhere - save the file (yes to overwrite) I can send the error message I get via PM (it's long) if there is somehow problems to replicate it.

>I just tried headshots, and they are stronger. But even if they are stronger, The invincibility time is much longer. Maybe it's not a good idea to make every hit a headshot then, but the last hit should definitely be a headshot, because the invincibility time after the last hit doesn't matter. I also see that Kyman posted some improvements to your run. I suggest that you cancel this and make a new run which takes advantage of the new info you now have.

I seem to remember that you can do the hyper-sonic boost during the Doomsday zone as well. Am I misremembering? If you can, I guess it can be used to reach the boss 2nd form faster.

>Truncated: sorry about the trick to go down faster, I used it on my first play through the game but I didn't think nobody knew about it :( It isn't really a trick, just a normal command. Just pressing down is not what I meant. There is a faster way to go down than to just hold down. You need to press down at a special interval.

Nice movies. I am impressed. Especially the strategy in some places is very unexpected and cool. :) And congratulations team Dammit! It seems that noone else discovered the fastest way to fly (look at the subpixels), but made it up through better playing and strategy during the stages. There is also a faster way to drop, which is not shown in our movie because I discovered it too late. If anyone is interested I can grant access to our google spreadsheet where all tricks and ROM adresses we found are listed. An email adress is needed for this.

I giggled for the two first fights. This is a fun idea for one or two rounds in a playaround submission, but not for a whole movie.

Maybe not. I would not have traded such information if things had gone according to plan. It was nice to know so I didn't have to pull two all-nighters in vain. If we had been ahead by decent amount, I might have put in the hours needed. Also:
