Yes yes yes. This is awesome on so many levels in so many ways. Even though I had watched all your WIPs I saw that you had gone back and redone some of the earlier levels. I can only hope you also take the time to redo the short version with all the stuff you have found.

I liked it over all and voted yes. I thought 2 players versus each other wouldn't offer me much new, but the Shang vs Shang battle proved me wrong. The brutalities seemed like sort of a waste of good fatality opportunities though.

It's great to see everyone willing to help out! I have a thought about the donations. I think that they should be listed somewhere on the site, along with the expenses/bills payed. It's not that I don't specifically trust adelikat or whoever ends up running the finances - actually I don't trust anyone with handling money without some sort of control system. And I think more people are like that. By listing the donations and expenses somewhere on the site, people can hopefully feel a little more secure in sending their money to someone on the internet they have never met. Hopefully this can be done somewhat automatically.

>Dana won't actually perform the movement again, but her sprite will move in that way. So if you move from left to right and then hold down left+right, Dana's sprite will continue running, even run inside a wall if there is one next to him. Dana seems a bit gender-confused. Anyway: In round 7-10 it looked you could have ignored the enemy on the bottom right. It would have been consumed by the rising floor anyway later. This would make it possible to tackle the other enemies sooner. Is there something else you have to wait for anyway? The movie can easily be watched at 400% without missing anything. Just saying.

Sounds good. I've been wanting to see a run for this game for a long time now. Too bad you won't release any more WIPs.

I have the same problem. VBA uses about 50% CPU power and still lags, the sound chops constantly. The problem is the same on v19, v20, and the new v21. I have tried: 1.7.2 re-recording v19.2 1.7.2 re-recording v20.0 1.7.2 re-recording v21 (which btw still says V20 in the About box) I am running Vista Home Premium, SP 1. Computer is a 2GHz AMD dualcore with 4GB ram. Should be plenty enough for VBA... I can supply logs or whatever else needed if it is wanted.

>Is anyone interested ? :O Hell yes. I couldn't watch the movie very well (too choppy), but what you wrote about it sounds very good. I would love to see it submitted here... perhaps it is possible to get hold of it or the author somehow?

Derakon> fundamentally, the reason why Saturn's 14% run wasn't published is because many people here don't like him. Whether or not that's a good reason to not publish a movie is an entirely different question that I for one will leave to the mods to decide; the merits of the run itself have been discussed to death. I agree that that is an absolutely terrible reason not to publish a movie. I disagree that that was the reason Saturn's movie wasn't published. I think this will be the last I speak of it.

Oh wow. Aqfaq breaks another game! :) Cool to see it figured out what happens here. I guess very few stages need to be played all the way through now. If you want help optimizing it, talk to me and we'll work something out. I like partnering up for projects.

I tried to watch this movie to judge it, but snes9x locks up on me. I think it's the emulator rather than the ROM or movie, but it never happens while playing normally. Only when playing back movies... I'll see if I can fix it so this movie can get a judgement soon. About 2 players, perhaps it would be interesting, but if one is slower than the other that probably means trouble. The faster one will be stuck waiting for the slower one to catch up all the time.

I liked the part where nothing made any sense.

Sonikkustar: Nice. Yours is only 2 frames slower when the boss starts. Since the scroll is pretty easy to optimize, I'm guessing this is either from lag or the intro. I didn't investigate it further.

Hi, Sonikkustar. Yes, I am working on this again, after a year-long break for Castlevania Bloodlines. After a restart on the (J) version (previous one was on (E), in 50Hz), it is now up to the boss of the 19th stage, the big bird. Since this project has been drawn out a lot, I understand that people are getting tired of waiting. If you feel like trying it yourself I do not mind, I can post times for comparison if you like.

Actually, no, Tasvideos has always been about you arguing with Xkeeper that Tasvideos has always been about completing games as fast as possible.

Derakon> I think anyone who votes wrong because they didn't read the poll deserves what they get. We could also randomize the button positions on every page load, that would teach them, eh? It not just their problem, it also gives the wrong input to us as judges. I don't see why they should be in an illogical order. It doesn't help anyone.

Bisqwit> I have reverted the voting system now to the old "yes / no / meh" system. While we are at it, can we reorder the options to "yes / meh / no" or "no / meh / yes"? That seems to make a lot more sense to me. If it is implemented later, people will complain about having learned the positions and voting wrong by accident.

I think there is a nice embryo for a good movie here, but it needs to be polished a lot before it can be published. Motions are not very exact, damage and magic doesn't seem that well planned. Some things to check: - Is downstrike really the best attack all the time? The enemies lie down doing nothing for a long time afterwards. - Can it be done better in 2-player? - Do all the characters have the same damage?

Many many thanks to Upthorn, nitsuja and adelikat for this! All the problems I reported with release 10 (background input, no difference between right/left shift) are solved, and a very fast fix with 11a. Another problem I had is also solved, but I don't see a change note for it. Is was that the Gens screen would be blacked out after the computer had been in sleep mode, which demanded restart, change of render mode or similar.

How to speak fluent Japanese without saying a word: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_RM8To5mjU&NR=1 I loved it. Hopefully I will still love it tomorrow when it's not 3 in the night.

Worked with 1.1 version ROM, and Snes9X v1.43+ v12 (beta10), on the second try. On the first try it desynched at the intro screen. I liked the movie a lot. The motions look very fluid.

Awesome WIP. Here are some thoughts: - On Frosty Doom, you land with Skycutter at 72364, but there is enough space to ride inverted the whole way up to the left edge. This would save a frame. (If you redo it, you can perhaps shoot icicles on the hand below for fun.) - On Bloody Swamp, you get stuck behind the moving platforms for some time. The starting position of these platforms is not static, it can be manipulated by delaying a few frames. They spawn a good deal outside the screen, so the delay has to come early. - The new Bagel Bros is fantastic. 5 seconds faster than my old movie! While we are on the topic of playing experiences, I played it a few months ago when I visited my parents, on the real console. I got through, but stopped counting how many times I died on final marathon after 11 or somewhere.

No, the movie is NOT supposed to give a Game Over screen. I get the same desynch , on both roms I have tested: (U) and (4). It seems to be exactly when entering the car to win the final level. Stop the movie before that and play for yourself to see what it should look like.

Well, I enjoyed it, but I'm biased. :) I had huge video/audio desynch in WMP, but it plays fine in VLC.
