Much appreciated Mr Warlord. That is definitely the game I'm thinking of. It's a lot more.... blue than I remember.

In Russian: To be a like a turd in a polynya (hole in the ice on a frozen lake, this is the only translation i found) - To be indecisive There's another colorful one where people have hands/fingers growing out their arses, but I'm not certain what it means. Swedish has plenty which are the same as in English, such as a tough nut to crack - a difficult problem. Some I find funny: clear as sausage stock - really obvious with the beard in the mailbox - caught in the act there's no cow on the ice - there's nothing to be worried about out on the marmelade - in deep trouble

Okay, I have two more. NES: A wrestling game, played it on 4-rom cartridge together with (guessing) Balloon Fight, one of Donkey Kong / Donkey Kong Jr, and maybe Lode Runner. The game had a red (?) colorscheme, had a few selectable characters. The main point was to catch some yellow power-up shot into the arena that dramatically increased your powers. One character could shoot, one could jump across the screen. As you took damage, you walked slower. Master System: A side-scrolling action/beatemup. One button was attack, which could be combined with down or up. The other button was jump, which automatically did a jump-kick. This was the most efficient way to attack. You traverse some sort of city. You died in one hit. You fought a boss on a beach or something, and then had ~10 hitpoints each. Actually there was supposed to be a third game here, but at the moment I can't remember what it was about.

Molotov: I'm almost sure your Game 2 is Streets of Rage 3 for Genesis. The only thing that doesn't fit is the metal pipes. Beat'em up, 2 players, skimpy white bikini, first level is a factory.

I played this game on PC, it came bundled with some version of Windows i think. I liked this movie, but I also like Xkeeper's idea of filling up the whole board once and ending in the E pipe in mode C. I will still vote Yes.

My GOD this game lags a lot. And most of the time for seemingly no reason. And why is this game so similar to a lot of other GBA titles in graphics and engine? Bruce Lee, Wolverine AR, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Naruto, etc. Is it the same maker for all these games? To me this feels like a meh, cool tricks, but the extreme lag and bland level design kind of kills the enjoyment of watching it.

I've died plenty of times when switching from Micromax, but the game seems a bit random on when it displaces you and when it kills you. Ghost block have the same tendency. At WoD1, is it possible to slide in the slope longer? You move at 4 pixels/frame with Red Stealth in slopes, as opposed to 3 with other characters. Did you try ducking after the slope? Perhaps it gives more than jumping on the tank (doubtful, but anyway). Also check into where to take damage: I'm not sure the choices in my move were optimal. I have an idea for The Black Pit, I'll see what I can do about it and the Lion level.

This didn't do it for me... too long and repetitive. The slopes seems like the only interesting way to gain speed. You mentioned that there are warps that skip some levels. How much time would that save approximately?

You can, in most cases. It does however have a maximum decrease rate which you go higher than when using phoenix and sometimes under other circumstances. And the boss's real health has actually a higher resolution than what's shown on the screen. Memory adress for boss health: 00FF8200, 2 bytes. I think it works for everything that fills up the boss health bar, thereby including subbosses.

Protip: Use snes9x instead. It has better functionality for making TASes. It also doesn't have the "Record movie" option hidden from the user. Additionally, movie playback for the viewers is much more complicated on ZSNES, you will get less feedback while you make it and less viewers when you submit it.

You don't pick up any weapon powerups - why not? Some bosses take more than 1000 weapon energy to kill, so you will be forced to switch in the middle of the fight. I was worried that you lost time at the start of the second level, but I found the adress for the scroll position (00FFA900, 2 byte) and saw that it was not so. You copied my strategy for the third boss, but as noted above, daibakusho_curry's strategy for that boss is better.

AKA> As Einstein pointed out getting into the past isn't the main problem, its getting back again, as getting back into the future requires exceeding the speed of light. That's a rather idiotic statement and I doubt Einstein made it. Getting to the future is automatic. Also pyramids contain mostly gravel and filler material. The giants sure had sucky tools. :/ One question for Bisqwit: How do you feel about the fact that the police statistics show that the vast majority of criminals are men, and around your age (or younger, I am not sure of your age)?

Looks very good. And you progress fast. I was especially surprised about the shortcut in The Pinnacle. I've seen the exit, but never managed to find the entrance. One question about Shiskaboss, why did you jump to hit the top head at frame 29648? You get on top of him for much faster multi-bouncing later any way.

Well, then I object to the objection of my rejection of the movie for the Japanese version. You are free to have a differing opinion when I reject something because I do not think it is entertaining or well played. In this case you should be complaining about the rules and not that judges do their job and judge by them. I was going to accept this, but I now see that there is a suggestion for a faster route, so I'm holding on judging this until I hear what comes of it.

I think the damage around 14750 is unnecessary. You can go above the blocks. You lose a frame by landing at 14850. This didn't look easily avoidable though, but if you skip taking damage from the dragon earlier you can take it here. That's all I saw, I think.

I suspected as much, but that's a shame. Cyclone is a lot funnier to watch with the speed boosts - the last few levels of this movie looks crazy. Can you explain the pull-back technique in more detail? I know that your air speed goes up to 2:160 after it drops below 2:95. At which speed is it most beneficial to pull back?

I haven't made any frame-exact measurements, but it is slower or about the same speed on all levels and bosses except for boss 10 and boss 17 like mentioned above, and surprisingly (at least to me), boss 3. My movie is at boss 18 (like it always has been), so no comparisons there. But like I mentioned the Sylpheed force method is innovative. ---- moozooh told me he was after the total time difference at the latest comparison point. Is is 3010 frames. But note that daibakusho_curry's movie is made with the (J) version and mine with (E). The game runs at the same amount of action per frame, or very close, but I don't know about cut scenes, transitions and such. The intro is equally fast in both versions, though.

<moozooh> i wonder if walls in this game serve any purpose. <Truncated> these walls were made for walkin' <moozooh> hahaha I approve of this movie. I thought that Dorago's palace had the worst music in videogame history, but moozooh proved me wrong. 1942 beats it.

I downloaded Zsnes and tried to like it, but failed. :/ Movie name must be the same as ROM name? And they must be in the same directory? What the... that makes it impossible to have order whatsoever of your files. The movie also desynched on fourth (I think) boss. Although they probably exist somewhere, I can't find fast forward, show input, and frame count... Honestly I see don't why we should accept movies in this format. It should at the very least be deprecated. ---- Enough about that. About this movie: to me it looks unoptimized throughout. Perhaps this is just how the game works. But there are noticeable delays between boss hits. And do all attacks do the same amount of damage? You mentioned 2player mode, and that this wouldn't help. I think it would at least help in the entertainment area, but probably also timewise (unless there's something I'm really missing). You would only have to stop half as often to kill enemies and could score faster hits on some bosses.

Thank you for your nice movie, 大爆笑_カレー. :) Even though most of your strategies are meant to be simple, I think for example that your movie's boss 10 is faster than everything I've seen before. Boss 17 (Epsilon1) is also faster, but it requires not using the phoenix on boss 16 (the spider). I think your strategy is still faster overall. Sylpheed force was fantastic. :D I didn't know you could use the phoenix there. In stage 22, I think there must be some easier strategy. It seems you are gambling a bit, and not guaranteed that you will have full life for the boss. I also do not understand why you collect the life upgrades. You do not need the higher maximum life, and only twice you need the full life (to perform the phoenix).

Nice that you redid and improved the early levels by a few frames, but remember that you have about 80 levels before you. Redoing every time someone finds a stray frame will be very exhausting. Hills 1 and 2 were great. :) Damn you go fast after bouncing on 3 enemies. I'm thinking in Elsewhere (around frame 9800), have you tried running off the ledge in the start instead of jumping? Or isn't there enough time to gain height then?

Jukeboksi: I recognize that place. Is it in Tennispalatset? The only game I can think of that I consider myself reaaly good at is One Must Fall 2097. Maybe Streets of Rage 2 & 3 as well. All others I'm just decent.

Finished my master's degree in mechanical engineering a year ago. Since then I have been working as a mechanical designer for a truck manufacturer. My job mostly consists of working out technical solutions and then drawing them up in Catia (which is bleh, since it's a crappy (french) CAD program). The pay is decent (lower than it would be at a smaller company) but I like the product and think there are more opportunities at a bigger company. In the past, I have worked part-time as a teacher at university (loved it), and other random stuff during summers.
