>Also, someone should probably remove this from the List of Ideas. Fixed. I also cleaned up some other suggestions which have either been published or rejected.

I liked it a lot. The intro easter egg and the freeze + fake shatter + backwards pool fatality + secret sound effect was enough to buy me over. Yes vote. Too bad the sound sucks, but what can you do...

>I don't have any clue what you are implying...but I can tell you are implying something. Your nickname, join date, and that specific spelling error (which you made in your last post AGAIN) were all very consistent with the idea that you would be a certain disliked and previously banned member. Your last post would be very out of character for him though, so don't worry. :) Have fun here. PS: It's "would have", not "would of". Just as you would not say "I of voted yes." Only add "would" to see the error.

I really want to see this project done. I guess this means I will have to get into N64 emulation... I think only doing 1 race campaign would be a publishable movie, if you do 3 in a row so much the better. Since they are not connected or dependent on each other in any way, perhaps splitting it into 3 movies would be preferred, since I guess they will get pretty long.

>Are you referring to the videos at darktemplarz? That name sounds very familiar, yes. I think it is by him (them?). If their site is down, I can put it up on rapidshare or somewhere. The first part of it is dedicated to Shang Tsung combos.

I wanted to give him the chance to cancel it, but if that doesn't happen I will reject it later today. Or someone else can do it sooner if they really feel like it.

>Also the submitter should, IMO, give good reasons why the video deserves certain (non-obvious) categories. Just giving a list of desired categories is not enough. This is mostly already in effect. People usually list how they manipulated luck or which glitches they abused. >That may be the easiest way, but it renders the category obsolete. The category doesn't tell anything informative and is useless. Why have the category at all? I disagree. Out of 360 movies, we have 150 movies with the luck tag, and 150 movies with the bug tag (they are not the same movies). Since nowhere near all (or even half) of the movies have that tag, I think it conveys something meaningful that separates these movies from the others. Splitting it into major/minor could convey more useful information, but I somewhat doubt that the effort and arguments that will follow are worth the extra usability. I've been thinking about ways to rearrange, rename and remove some categories, but perhaps this topic isn't the place for it. I will start a new one if I get something presentable together.

Guess: His submissions were removed in retaliation for DDOS attacks. I found myself agreeing a lot of the Angry Gamer, especially - landing in Top Gun (I've only done it once) - both those jumps in TMNT - overall worthlessness of Castlevania 2 - finding the door in Elm Street I didn't watch the others since I haven't played those games very much. The swearing and beerdrinking didn't add much.

I have an extensive combo/glitch video of this at home which might be of interest. It has some 100% combos and lots of glitched fatalities. I'm not sure which version it is made for -- PC? The name escapes me, but I will check it up for you.

>I often feel that it's enough for the submitter to give a list of categories he would like the video to have, and these are more or less automatically given to it. This is practical and saves us a good deal of time. The suggested categories aren't always applied though. We (me and Warp) have been over the luck manipulation thing before (I don't feel like digging up the topic), I still think that it will be a huge amount of pointless debate about what movie deserves what category, if this movie doesn't manipulate more than than movie, what counts as significant luck manipulation, etc. Just look at how much debate there has been about which movies should have a star. It's essentially the same for splitting it into major/minor categories. What do you judge it on? How hard it was to accomplish or how small the chance was? How much time you actually saved by manipulating luck? How impressive it looks? "Why doesn't my movie get the major tag, I manipulated luck a lot :( " The easiest thing is to apply the category for every movie that manipulates luck (or uses glitches), no matter how minor, and leave the rest to the description. I think our viewers have no problem identifying Monopoly as a movie which manipulates luck more than the others, as it is now.

solepussy: I asked about your native language because if you have problems undestanding, there is probably someone here who speaks your language, and can help you. Guybrush: I said what it USUALLY means. :P I think people mean cat when they say pussy about as often as they mean rooster when they say cock.

>Nitsuja added this long, long ago, but people still don't know about it for some reason. Probably because Ctrl-T was not documented anywhere, and/or doesn't show up in the hotkeys dialog where people could have found it by accident. I heard about it only by word of mouth and this seems to be the case for most people. >When Automatic Close Movie is unchecked, and a movie is open read-write, resetting will rerecord movie from start (even if movie had finished playing) This behaviour sounds very dangerous, and not something you would ever want to do -- you would just start a new movie file instead. Also it will probably have to change when Gens supports recording resets (since I guess the behaviour is the same even if the movie hasn't ended yet). I'll try it out as soon as I get home. Again, many thanks for taking the time to improve Gens.

Twelvepack: much thanks for bringing this up. It has been bothering me for a long time. I usually end up having to use a filesearch after scrolling around for a while. FCEU movies are less bothersome because the emulator automatically finds all movies with the correct ROM checksum.

>A changelog feature in them would allow reopening it to editors. That would be nice, since a lot of movies have gone mis- or un-labeled after the amount of possible taggers went from 46 to 6. If the aim was to decrease the number of mislabeled movies, the effect has essentially been opposite. About the category "Ignores semi-important goals", the description given by comicalflop describes my opinion very well: "goals in the game that are optional yet recommended" Prime example is Wrath of the Black Manta, which skips both interrogating the red enemies and saving all the kids trapped in ice (but still gets the best ending). Another good one is Cobra Triangle, which lets the poor swimmers die because they take time tallying after the level. Or Ecco, ignoring all the trapped dophins. Bohoo. Since almost every movie here tries to skip as much as possible, I wouldn't mind too much if the category was scrapped.

>FCEU style, by popular vote I have never used FCEU's memory watcher... is it a separate window? I would like that. But perhaps it's just me that run all my emulators in windowed mode. (I guess it's not a big gray overlay in the bottom of the screen with a horribly oversized red font, because I can't imagine that being popular.) Great to hear that it's moving forward anyway! I'm very impressed with what you have done for Gens.

Hi solepussy. Two things: 1) What is your native language? 2) Why do you have the name solepussy? Do you know what the word "pussy" usually means in English?

If the accepting the previous submission was a mistake (as I think it was), perhaps it should be obsoleted instead of just being shuffled away in the concept category.

If you realize your submission is not good enough, or if you are making an improvement on your submission, it is good form to set it to "Cancelled". (Go to the page for your submission and click Edit.) It lowers the work load for the judges, and makes the forum less populated. Good luck if you decide to improve this.

I will give this a brief look, but with 6 No votes i a row it looks rather doomed. >I would of voted yes on this... So is this a dead giveaway or what? Hello Mr. Hidden Spriter. Or should I say Shaded Gamer?

Fedor is a favourite of mine too. But neither of your highlights show clips from what in my opinion is his most impressive match, against Kevin Randleman. If you haven't seen it I don't want to spoil it, but here is a movie which has parts from it: Фёдор 3 I think he is neither crazy nor psychotic, but extremely calculated and smart during his fights.

Is class attendance mandatory in the US? Here it's voluntary, so that rule seems strange. (I assume you mean college/university, since you said professor.) And oh yeah, fire alarms: they still suck. On topic.

I got this to run now. Surprisingly it helps if you're using the Castlevania - HoD ROM instead of the Castlevania - something else ROM. I find the sound barrage when scaling vertical platforms hilarious. *fap*fap*hah!*fap*hoo!*fap*fap*hoo!*hoo!*hyu!*fap*fap*hah!*fap*hyu!*fap*hah!*

Some questions for the author: 1) Can you not kill enemies to jump less and run more? (Especially in the first level.) You throw balloons while running later. 2) Does the level end sooner if you are already standing in the middle when the boss dies? 3) Can you make less long jumps (with balloon floating) and run on the short platforms in the first toy level? 4) The vertical sections with the balloon bouncing has waits of very different length. All in all the game seems TASable but I'm sceptical about the technical quality.
