So... I need to install a 280 MB (or is it 610 MB?) system to run a 132 kB program? Pass. :/ Can't you compile it into an EXE file which doesn't need all that? It doesn't matter if it's a few MB itself, but I just can't transfer hundreds of megabytes to my own computer with a flash memory.

Downloaded and tried this now: "Could not initiate the program correctly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the program." :( I guess this has something to do with NET framework. (T.i. I don't have it. I think EXE files should be executable anyway.)

This used to happen aaalll the time in high school because were were in the same building as the industry cantine and shared the same fire alarm. I guess they burned things in the kitchen. Since it was only during school time, it was sometimes a welcome break. In my dorm in Japan, the main fire alarm went off randomly. We weren't forced to go out or anything, but the sound was extremely annoying and just WOULDN'T STOP, so after a few times I just went ahead and disconnected it. You could do that too. Not too good if there actually is a fire though... That, or mount a webcam to catch the perpetrator and report him.

Fractal, he's actually right for once. The zipping mechanism works differently when the corridor has been flooded, but being in warp state gets around this. (I tried to find where Bisqwit explained this, but I couldn't.) It's a good example of crying wolf though.

The second one sounds a lot like an old PC game where you rescued babies falling from a house on fire, by moving around a trampoline on the street, bouncing them into an ambulance, I think. I don't remember the name. There was a Game & Watch game (Fire!) of a similar concept. If you really bounced around the firefighter himself, I'm out of ideas.

>Maybe I'll see if I can get a few of them onto this site .... In the previous post you said that it was "Pretty much everyone I know here" - which "here" is that, if it isn't this site?

I did read your first post. Especially the phrases * Hard mode restricts me from using charged Z-saber or Z-saber combos, as wel as EX-skills, ... * Overall damage of Charged Knuckle + Rolling attack with turning twice during it (so that all frames hit) is 7 + 12 = 19 points. This way boss battles become longer, of course, .... * ... so that movie does not get too boring with that poor variety of attacks I get with basic weapons. stood out. Which, again, makes me think it's not a spectacular idea. You suit yourself, of course, but I think people will react badly when it's submitted.

I read (in the previous submission probably) that people generally disliked hard mode in this game because it removed interesting abilities and just made the bosses longer and less varied. Probably 100p can be interesting, but will you at least consider not doing Hard mode?

>Pretty mich everyone I know here (which is quite a lot of people) agree that all the emeralds should be gathered ... I don't think they add much, except possibly for Sonic 3 (extra stage). Maybe you have a non-representative set of friends? If you see the submission topic for AKAs Sonic 1 Emerald run, you'll find quite a few people who disagree with getting the emeralds. Congrats on your 2^8:th post though. ---- For upthorn, I understand your dilemma. Either no emeralds or all emeralds makes sense from a category standpoint. Going hyper would be more interesting for me.

I agree with moozooh. The camhack version is way overdue, even though it could almost be considered the main version for this movie. The camhack cannot be viewed in VBA in full speed on almost any normal computer. Anyone up for it? Pretty please?

Wohoo. Sounds great. I will check out the GMV editing feature. Since the feature set is very different for the movie formats, is every format coded as a special case?

I'm watching this as I write. I just saw the water level and it looks mysteriously unoptimized, hitting corners and losing speed and whatnot. I'm sure that this is not the case, so perhaps you should explain what's going on in the submission. I think more people are likely to have the same question.

Just chiming in with the praise. I'm your loyal fan. What are you planning next? Sonic 1, Gunstar Heroes?

I remember ziplock, I never discussed much with him, but he seemed like a nice guy. Then again, most guys are nice. Unless he comes back here and tells us, or his will specifies all websites that obituaries should be posted to (does yours?), I think we will never know.

>When the orb hit him, hr didn't climb up. I have had this exact same problem, but it's been so long I don't remember what I did to fix it. Are you sure you have the correct ROM? Try a few different ones if there are other versions.

Honest attempt att describing the concept demo category, by looking at what's in it now: * Uses a hacked/not officially released ROM: Air, Mario Adventure, SDW. Hacks are generally against the rules. * One track (not full game): F-Zero, Top Gear. Not completing the whole game is generally against the rules. The games which do not fit inside these categories are... * Sidestroller Mario: Really an April's fool joke, but interesting because it imposes a silly limitation which most people would think makes the game unwinnable. Such limitations are advised against in the guidelines. * Newgame+ CT: Modified SRAM. Modified SRAM is generally against the rules. This movie uses SRAM because it's the only way to access the hidden character (afaik). I don't think it fits in concept demos. It is not like any of the above movies. Question: do we have any other SRAM movies beside from AoS Julius movie and Hard mode movie? ----- KDR_11k> SRAM isn't accepted because that SRAM data is not known to be correct ... This is only part of the reason. Even if SRAM hasn't been tampered with there can be several correct possible SRAMs. This means movies do not have a common starting point. It gives us a lot of extra work, it is tricky to verify, it is just not useful if you could easily avoid it by just starting with clean SRAM. (I'm looking at you, Hard Mode movie.)

I have watched the run now, it looked good. Any progress on it since your last update? Did you try hexediting anything?

HSS: I'm pretty certain he was using demons in a figurative sense. It might come as a surprise, but demons and evil spirits do not actually cause mentall illness, or exist. AnglerFish: Good luck kiddo. I hope you'll be back with us soon.

>... in 3-player all characters are active even if they're offscreen. Hm, really? So is this part of the description I wrote wrong? "Keep in mind that only vikings that are on screen can be controlled." If so I will change it to something appropriate.

Seeing as how I can rarely find the time and motivation to finish even one at a time, I doubt that having more than one would help.

Nibelung> this avatar is allowed by the rules of this board No, actually it's too big (67 x 98)... and the animation is annoying.

feitclub> Isn't that 出す rather than 出る? I think so too, considering derivatives such as 中出し, etc. I've never heard 出る used in that way. Warp: It's okay. :) I feel exactly the same way about French. Hearing Jerome Le Banner (brutal kickboxer) speaking French after he has bulldozed over some poor fighter is hilarious! *waits as thread devolves into discussion what people think other languages sound like*

Doesn't seem to be much attention given to this game, no, but I think it's because it's unknown rather than being bad or some such. >does that link still work? Yup, sure does.

>Well, I'll probably be quite busy till early December, so won't be able to post any WIPs till then. Excuse me? ;) I will check the WIP when I get the chance, but why is your version slower than Zer0's? (1:25 versus 1:20) >By the way, if I intended to change just a portion in between the run, does it mean I need to redo everything after it? Yes, this is usually the case. Rewinding to a point erases everything after it. The only way around it is to hexedit in the later parts again and hope it doesn't desynch. There is a guide for hexediting linked in the FAQ.
