The Japanese title is 孔雀王2 - kujaku ou 2 Meaning Peacock king 2. There is also a buddhistic diety called 孔雀妙王 - kujaku myouou See the connection? There is also a manga, called Kujaku-Ou, with a main character of the same name, who is a monk (with a silly toga, perhasp?) born with the power of Kujaku-myouou. The manga is filled with demons, monsters, and powerful sorcerers/priests. Sounds familiar? I'm thinking either this is a game from this manga, or that they are both based on the same legend. Here is a scan from the manga. Looks somewhat familiar, right? After digging some more, I think Kujaku-Oh 1 was released for Master System. That's it. I'll stop rambling now.

Good thinking there... but you shouldn't have to play trough the game 20 times just to check the codes. They are stored internally in the game somewhere, they just have to be extracted. Can we get a ROM hacker on this one, please? Even if the codes are generated somehow, it should be possible to check the memory contents during the comparison operation. Make a savestate just before you take the last exit, dig around it to find where the "which code to use" variable is stored... it shouldn't be too much trouble for someone experienced.

Okey dokey. Another interesting thing I found while browsing my dictionary: 孔雀妙王 - くじゃくみょうおう - Mayuri Vidya-raja, Holder of the mantras (Budd.) There is one kanji more in the name of the Buddhist dieity, but this manga links them in some way. I looked around briefly for more info but didn't find anything interesting... so that's all for now.

BitLord is built on BitComet code. I don't know to which extent, but obviously enough to identify as BitComet. >Is there a user-friendly client that is capable of seeding a file until the completed file size has been shared? No idea. But why do you want to do that? From the questions it sort of sounds like you just want to get away with seeding as little as possible.

Yeah. Welcome to the players group. :) I'm writing a description for this now... is there anything in particular you would like to see included?

xebra> It would also be neat if you could have two Gens open at once. It's possible now too. If you get blank windows, switch render mode twice. I used two windows to compare your sonic videos before. Jyzero, the show-input thing only shows input for 1 player. It should show both of course... I don't know how it works for 3 players. Debug anything crashes the emulator, but I think that's an old problem. In any case, I think a good feature for a standalone movie window would be to show the internal variables which you chose. I don't think anyone has been digging around the memory of the CPU yet, but maybe we should start.

Yes. It was one of the "bugs" which they "fixed" in the REV01. :) I don't know if there are any other.

BitComet is in fact banned on several trackers for it's behaviour. Just google "bitcomet banned" or a similar phrase and you'll see. Wikipedia also mentions the same thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitComet

>I am 100% sure that it's not Morimoto that started the use of TIMEATTACK since he doesn't understand a single word of English. Most Japanese know a lot of English words. If for no other reason then at least that they exist as loan words in Japanese. The English language education is sadly target heavily at learning a lot of vocabulary. (Or bokyaburarii in Japanese. Yeah.) That doesn't mean they can speak it or understand it at all. End today's frustrating fact of Truncated's life. In any case your arguement is weak, I guess that's what I wanted to say.

Hold on now. I have the feeling you're right, but I haven't got the emulator handy to check. In the windoze version, ordinary speed is really changed without shift. And I don't think this game suffers from the always-english-layout problem like FCEU does. If noone else looks into it, I'll do it as soon as I have time. Which is not this week.

I don't understand what's going on... sometimes you run trough enemies and lose life and sometimes you don't. Do you shoot them just before you run into them? The life seems to be replenished on random, I must be missing something. I liked the attackspamming on the dragon boss and the exact playing to end with minimal life. Plus the character moves blazingly fast, which is always a plus. I'm going out on a limb (because I really don't know this game well) and voting Yes.

I think the reason for ending the movie late is to input the initials, but I didn't check closely. I prefered the SNES Super SF2 versions over this one. They have more variation and the graphics and sound is better too. So I will vote No not because it is badly played but because there are better versions available.

I repeat what Ouzo said. It's awesome what you've done for the Gens emulator. If you're making an update, can I make some other suggestions too? - Most important would be Show Input. It's very useful for reviewing movies, but sometimes also for playing. - If the above feature is implemented, a hold button would be very nice. For example for Kid Chameleon and Quackshot, you have to hold the run button all the time. - Autobackup of movie file when you start rerecording from an existing movie file. Also make read-only default in the play movie dialog. - If you are changing the file format for this relase (which I guess is a given since the current one doesn't support 3 players), save 1) the sound frequency used in the file since it has caused desynchs in a number of games, 2) the ROM checksum, and 3) the country and fps setting for the benefit of the submission scripts. BTW, I think some games, e.g Micro Machines, support 4 players. Are you taking this in consideration? - Also leaving a good portion of header unassigned for future improvements is an easy way to have forward compatibility. Maybe some easy conversion tool for old->new, but that's asking a little too much, maybe. I look forward to it already.

Ah, right. smc and smd, my mistake. Someone with privilegies (spelling?) could change it. I don't think it's causing any problems because people likely aren't reading that info anyway.

Ah... enter brings up the weapon select? Check which button you have set for pausing the emulator (not the game) and replace Enter for that button in the description above. It should be in Options Set Controls or something. I don't have the emulator available now so i can't check, but it should be easy to find.

Both smc and bin are valid formats for Genesis emulators. Are you sure this is an error? Shouldn't it work with either one for the movie to play back correctly?

It is very recommended to use the frame advance instead of low speed. In default keys: Press backspace to activate framecounter, so you know which frame you are at. While playing, press Enter to pause the game. Then hold the keys that you want pressed next frame, and press Spacebar once. Repeat holding the keys you want and pressing spacebar and you will get perfect accuracy. You can always find the first frame that a new slide is possible with this.

Warsong battle outcomes can be changed by doing different things or waiting before you enter them. Like you, I'm not sure if it's a good idea. How about making one level and see how it turns out? Cannon fodder could be fun.

Come on now. I'm pretty sure you have been here long enough to know you cannot ask for the ROM. Happy 400 posts.

If the ROM doesn't run in whatever version of Snes9x you have, it's probably the ROM that is broken and not the emulator. If you meant the movie, see Michael's link.

>Yes i agree but Saturn already used an entertaning method in his version so i showed change. about using different moves. Dat will take more time. You agree that you could have made it better? Do it then. :) Taking time is a factor of course but don't think it will take that much effort to make it better. >OK. Here we works for Timeattacks. If i take more time probably this will take more timeunits than Saturn's One. As a result, it will surely rejected without any doubt. I don't think so. In a movie like this fastest completion gets boring fast. That would mean finding the fastest combo and use it 24 times. I would rather see a lot of different combos and crazy stuff (which this movie had some of) than trying to KO everyone as fast as possible. There has to be some balance between the two. Anyway, I'll get back when I watched both and compared.

Reply is almost = answer. But you can reply (i.e write something back) without answering the question. In this case I think Dan did both. That is, if you are referring to the "tell me what do you think of it" question, his answer was "I don't think it's a good decision to play on the crazy hard mode".

Should play with Gens9c even though it was made in an earlier version. Have you read the FAQ? Specifically http://tasvideos.org/DesyncHelp.html ?
