Ack, I would have told you if I knew you didn't know. I have been using savestates to jump trough your movie since you started it. On a related note, is is possible for you to insert a few seconds of no input before the movie ends? Then I wouldn't have to restart the movie every time I want to watch the new part again.

Nice, even if the difference from the last version was small. This doesn't show up in the recent changes, neither as submission or movie. What's up?

We could have official SRAMs for certain games which all runs have to start from. These would have to be from some trusted source. Upon submission the SRAM in the movie file can be compared to the standard one. Getting a verified SRAM from a trusted source for every game that needs them would be the main problem.

There's still the autofire problem everywhere. Unless you were very lucky, those frames probably add up. Instead of holding autofire, frame advance it until you find the earliest frame you can press the button. Also, you take an extra swing every time you load up your sword. You can start holding the button again in the middle of the spin.

I watched it now. Very very well played. I would have voted very very yes if it wasn't for the autoscolling levels and the large amount of filler (score tallying, map spinning, houses exploding etc). Now I will "only" vote very yes, for what it's worth. One minimal thing: can you run longer on the slower platforms before you jump off them, or does the speed not add up as it's supposed to?

There was, but that fix is now incorporated in (or maybe rather was the start of) the inofficial version by Nitsuja which everyone here is using now.

I remembered that this game had been mentioned before in The Big List O'Games thread, but when I searched for it again I noticed that the person who brougt it up that time... was you. :) I have only played this game once or twice so I cannot say much. I remember it as sluggish and possibly it included swinging a large axe... or was it an anchor? Still, people in that topic didn't seem to think it was a bad idea. Maybe you should run a level and show us what it could look like?

You're serious? There's actually a weapon named ''ballade cracker''? My god. And I thought that Pharao Man, Guts Man and Toad Man were awful. The secret Robot Naming Committee strikes again.

To me it looks like you just repeated what Bisqwit said, in a vein that makes it look that it's not what he said. >I don't think a sword-only run (or no-weapon run) will be any less boring than a wheel-most run. >a Sword-only run would not have tons of it (variation) Never mind anyway. It was kind of pointless of me to bring it up.

>Laugh if you want. How to play a sav-file? I don't know what kind of movie file this is or for what emulator it is supposed to work. It is not listed among the known formats in the FAQ. Are you completely sure it's a movie file? Where did you get it?

>13 yes star votes now. Tss, liar. There has been no mention of yes star votes so far in this topic. Shouldn't you watch the other submissions for the same game before you decide that this one is the greatest on earth?

Watched it now. It's outrageous how fast they die. It's also fun how you progress so fast in the beginning they haven't even spawned when you get to the pillar of light. One thought: Since Blaze has the stronger jump-kick, shouldn't she be administring the initial kick? In either way the other character can take the chickens meanwhile.

One thing I didn't like about this was that autofire was used so often. For example at the car it's obvious as some hits are direct (without going to idle pose) and some flicker between kicking and idling. The choreography is quite nice. I can't decide if I like this or the Ken movie better.

Did you read the sentence above the one you quoted?

Personally I wasn't that fascinated, but I refrained from voting because it's not my type of game and obviously people seemed to like it.

I love it every time I see atro city make a new post to this thread because it means update time for this hilarious run. It's comedy. I'll watch it as soon as I get home.

>Other times topics with new replies in them doesn't show as highlighted. Further more, if there are highlighted topics with new posts in them they go un-highlighted after a while even though I haven't read them. Thats strange if you ask me. Topics with new messages are always highlighted for me. But I have the same problem with them going un-lighted if I log into the forum and not read them for a while.

My only objection is that you seem to hammer the buttons in some places, instead of finding the earliest frame where the game accepts input. For example when getting out of the bed in the very beginning. That and I have no clue what's going on in the final battle. You didn't even kill the last form of the boss but the staircase still appeared. I guess it's part of the bug somehow.

Hahaha. That was awesome. I've never seen this happen before, but it reminds me of a bug in SoR2 where two characters punching an enemy at the same time, or two players being punched by the same enemy at the same time, could end up doing huge damage. I still don't know how to reproduce it. Perhaps it's related somehow. The obvious question is of course, could you have used this before somewhere? Probably... but I'm not going to ask you to redo it. It would be awesome if you could pull this off on Mona Lisa. > That's over 50 HP in 1 second! Actually you're doing the same damage to two enemies, right? So it's probably 100 damage / second. I don't remember the game lagging this much in the disco. Perhaps that Wonder Boy topic in the Gens forum is on to something. Or my memory could just be wrong.

If it lags in the console version, it's part of the game and we shouldn't be messing with it. If it doesn't lag in the console version (as people are claiming), something is wrong in the emulation and should be corrected. Then we will start needing different emulation cores (like Snes9x has WIP and Final timing) for backwards compatibility. Which sounds like a lot of work. Or everyone could have two versions of the same emulator, but that's probably somewhat bothersome too.

If people didn't want other people to read and use their FAQs, it would be stupid of them to put them on the internet. So I'd say you can just go ahead. You can use filespace for storing WIP files and such stuff. Or pilif has an FTP up which anyone here can use for those things. Use either of those and you'll probably get more reactions as to if this is a good choice for a run or not.

I have to agree with TheAxeMan. This couldn't keep my attention for more than 1 and a half levels.

I should mention that I haven't watched this movie yet. I don't know if I will. It's just that having seen the other submissions of this game, I've come to the conclusion that it's a monumetally bad choice for a speedrun, for the reasons listed above. This one is probably better than the previous version as you said, but that isn't saying a lot.

Honestly, I don't see the charm with running this game. I really don't. I'd prefer the movie of it being deleted and all submissions automatically rejected. Watching it isn't fun, there are no tricks or anything, it can be reproduced within seconds by regular playing, any new run is bound to look exactly the same... I'm withholding voting, I think. Voting no as I would have done otherwise seems pointless until the version which is up now is removed.
