You did it! And it looks so simple... In some previous version you jumped from the loops down into the breakable blocks. Is this slower?

News from Finalfighter: because Morimoto has gone missing, he has decided to proceed recording himself from Metal Man stage. After finishing this stage he is considering giving a preview of the work so far. He is estimating the total clear time to about 25:50.

Looks good. Two questions: 1) You skip a magic container once (I think) and you're forced to wait for a while when your magic meter fills up after killing the boss. Something to consider maybe? 2) Have you checked yet if strafing along the wall slows you down compared to walking straight? Not related to the new video, but I'd also like to know how much money you need and when, and in which places you plan on getting it.

Wether it's 1.43 WIP or 1.43 full should basically be in the version bytes, but I think it's not, officially. Which could mean some trouble if we put it there anyway. According to the SMV page here, the reserved bytes must be 0. Would putting info there cause problems with playback on official versions?

Yeah, scrolling algorithms screw up when going at a higher speed than normally. The first screen's graphics repeat, sort of, instead of showing the new graphics. Megaman 2 has similar glitches. If you know the approximate design of the dungeon you can sort of follow it anyway. I too am hoping for a no-glitches-barred contest between giga and blitz.

>I didn't DL the vid, but using a PS converter to play snes 9x i tried to remap pressed X and it quickly mapped EVERYTHING to X. wierd. This is a known problem for Gens, but it's thought to depend on controller drivers. Perhaps it's the same for Snes9x. More info: http://gens.consolemul.com/faq.shtml#gensf

It works! I can't believe it! (And they said imitation diamond wasn't good enough...) Time to plan this movie then, digging trough all the FAQs and glitch guides. I'll be back.

Upload your run somewhere, link it from here, and you're sure to get some comments and ideas on how to improve it.

I have problems downloading this file, so I don't know if it works yet or not. Judging from other it seems like it does, in that case we're all set to go. Highness could probably upload his settings. I have them as well but my ability to upload files seems to be a bit handicapped at the moment. They all get corrupted.

I'm very satisfied with the new WIP you made. This will be good when it's finished.

Voted no. This is not well played, same reasons as nitsuja.

I voted no for obvious reasons: this can be improved a lot. Please do so. Do not submit previews or unfinished versions to the "queue". Upload them and link them from the NES forum.

>*All* videos on this site aim for pure speed, first and foremost. You didn't manage to beat ziplock's time, so it doesn't matter how many "cool tricks" you perform - his is better. You are wrong and I think I've told you so before. Speed is a big factor, but faster videos have been rejected because of being less interesting. Notably a SMB3 video which didn't get any extra lives in the autoscrolling stages. I haven't watched this video yet but I will.

Rumor has it this file is corrupted as well. I'm giving up temporarily. Email me or something if you really want to see it.

Sounds like desync. Mine kept going until the triforce talk was over.

I think we should do this one like Rygar. Two versions, one with crazy warp bug and one without. I'd suggest against using moonwalk in the full version for aestetic or other reasons. More people will be able to watch it (less version trouble), and if you use it you should use it at it fullest potential (like this run does).

>Yes, but if it isn't checked and you load a savestate, it starts recording. So remember to check it. :) Actually I liked when read-only was default. >NOT very handy, since I just overwrote my Knuckles movie with nothingness. Make backups. Constantly. I like the auto-backup idea though. And the record clip too. Rumor has it Gens will get an official update with movie support sometime, but I haven't seen any specs. Perhaps this feature will be included.

if you are redoing it, hopping forward in beat with the music would be cool. :D

I hope you regain your motivation for making Genesis movies. I really liked your Genesis movies so far.

Me and Highness talked about this over ICQ yesterday, trying work around the desyncs. We switched configurations - located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Emulators\Snes9x\1.31 for anyone interested - and this is what we came up with: Even with Highness's settings, I could not play the movie he made. Regardless of which settings Highess used, he could play any movie he or I made. If Highness recorded a movie with my settings, I could play it. This last piece is the most interesting - by using my settings, perhaps Highness could record a movie everyone could watch. I'm hoping he will make a short movie and put it online, and see if everyone can play it. If so we should have a working method and could start to actually plan and make the movie. EDIT: Here's are two 100-% combos of Shao Kahn for anyone interested. Use improved version2, WIP timing, uncheck Volume Envelope, check Sync samples: http://133an.sytes.net/~truncated/MK2-100kombo.smv (EDIT: It was a zipfile before but it got corrupted during upload. Hopefully this one works.) You might not think this is a "real" combo, but the fact is that Shao Kahn (or any human player, the computer can cheat-throw) cannot get away, because their blocking animation is longer than the attacking animation. There is no way out. Perhaps it's possible to make him not block by playing more precise. I've had 1 or 2 random desyncs when playing back this movie.

>About frame counter not working: It works fine for me in both playback and recording. Remember that it doesn't work if you're not watching/recording a movie (although I can see it being useful for testing outside of a movie, like in Gens, so that could be changed). Also, if you assign a modifier like Alt as a hotkey, other things that use Alt+something may not activate. Ah, that's it. Thanks. I was thinking in Gens mode I guess. If it's no problem framecounter during non-movie would also be helpful.
