I didn't enjoy the no charge aspect. The only time it was remotely fun is area 6, but even then it can't redeem the fact that the game opens up to corneria not even getting a medal and being really boring.

Would a run where you used the guy that can morph into the others be ideal? It would be a different combo for each fight :D

I just tried to assign a key to turbo b and it just doesn't register at all, I've tried assigning to the keyboard and to joypad. Neither work at all. Has this been stated before?

Sorry if this has already been posted, but if you die you don't lose any experience. I abused this fact and right before going to the ship w/ Johnny there is a star box that you can hit and kill a lot of starfish then die and go back to the save and repeat this to level. I'm not sure if this is useful in a speed run but there is another spot where there are massive amounts of guys involving a star and that's in the Volcano when you can buy one. You can level pretty high fairly easily, the longest part is getting killed though.

With the lazy shell you do around 500 dmg and the lazy shell dress for peach is almost a must because of the usefulness. I beat the...ugh what's that guy's name, the one where you use the shiny stone to open the door and it plays FF music. Anywho, I had mario w/ super suit, attack scarf, lazy shell and peach had the lazy shell as well. And...Bowser got raped....but I just left him dead, at level 17 I dealt over 150 dmg to the crystals w/ mario and took either 0,1, or 50 (ice saw thing), or 100 dmg (non magic attack). Obviously with the items the game is incredibly easy.

I've also never understood how anybody can get 100 jumps in a row on an enemy, it starts requiring nearly frame-perfect timing precision by 20 or so. I'm sure it does get boring to watch so many jumps in a row, though.
It's really not that difficult, I just did this recently on my console at home, it's just that the timing actually changes after jump 15 and a few other times. but after 40 or 50 it's the same timing. It is boring but the rewards are very nice. Being able to beat axem rangers in a single blow or aany other boss is delicious.

A PLLG would be A LOT more fun to see than power leveling. There are people on the gamefaqs boards that have done them and I think there are guides for a PLLG at the site as well.
