Wait, why does this obsolete the FF7 run? The only reason this run is faster on FF7 is because the Japanese ROM is used, which seems to have shorter texts and the one bug with the Moogle Charm. I think neo_omegon has even said that he feels his run is a little worse than erokky's.
FF7? I think this thread is about FF5 and FF6, though I wish there was already a complete FF7 TAS. :P

Oh I am, as I do not see the point in supporting a broken by design operating system. Nach does however.
What the fuck? You say Linux is broken by design? If you have never used it, it's better just to shut up.

Let me quote myself.
Does this compile on Linux? You guys should pay more attention at that. But if it does, then I am really thankful for you.
And how could I have known that you can't do Linux ports? And this:
Because someone uses Linux, not Windows? Sorry for asking if it caused some kind of headache to you....
Was answer to this:
Why is everyone pestering for Linux support anyway???? Is it because of Richard Stallman worship?
NOT to this:
For all your Linux inquiries, go speak to Nach, otherwise I don't give a fuck.
hopefully you're happy now.

Because someone uses Linux, not Windows? Sorry for asking if it caused some kind of headache to you.... Normal rerecording version of VBA (not M) already does work on windows properly but the main point of saying this was to fix the Linux port. But if it is too much to ask from you, just forget it.

Yep, this thread is about FFVI not FFV :P I started the address searching some days ago without that list, but then I found it and I was like "wow!". But the main problem is the RNG's and Kefka's Tower boss battles (Goddess, where I can't 7-7-7, Psycho-Cyan bug maybe?) Yes, all other addresses are welcome, even if they haven't much use, but they can always help. But the problem is just the RNG's and manipulating pre-emptives and desperations. Most boss battles will go same as on SNES, except there is no need for Confuse/77B in a single battle.

A little progress. I've been trying to find out some of the RAM adresses, any help is welcome. A lot thanks to samuraigoroh and his useful list of modifier codes. It helps alot on this RAM investigation. I'll list the most important adresses later, but now I can finally start doing this.. after almost two years creating this thread :P ill post a wip someday, when I have made some progress. Now I mainly need adresses only for manipulating pre-emptive and desperation attacks.

That would be great if you'd either move the improvements from 1.72-rr to M or fix the Linux port from the current one. I appreciate your work.

This is at least my third time asking for the movie file; I won't be watching the run from Youtube due to it does lag and quality is what it is: so I want to watch it straight from the emulator. You seem not to even answer to this request? So go and post the .pxm somewhere and link it to us. Thanks.

Actually it doesn't. I tested it myself, on my real PSX
I'm talking about the emulator.
and i'm talking a real psx. I have no idea if it works on an emulator but it does indeed work on a real.

Actually it doesn't. I tested it myself, on my real PSX, casted Regen (which you won't probably get in this TAS due to high AP count needed IIRC) and enemy didn't attack. There may be a plenty of youtube videos about this but i can't find one, but I'm still pretty sure there's at least one. You can always ask GarlandG about this and a lot other FF7 things. He really has played this game alot :) and when we can have the input file? :)

I *might* have an idea, though have no idea if this will help the run but i'll say it anyway. If you have problem with dealing enough damage, you could always go and win Quistis' card and get 3 samantha souls from it which refine to 60 triples each which DOES help doing enough damage even without renzokuken ;) But the minus here is that if you use this strategy, you do have to get Diablos and Time-mag RF. But the Wizard Stones from Granaldo will help you :p If you make some progress, i'll definatetly watch this run. I recently bought a PS1 so I can play this game again lol.

Just in case I gotta fix some errors / buy something more in the game, I can use TAS Video editor for this? For example, I buy a pair of Running Shoes from South Figaro, but afterwards I realize that I needed more, I could add some frames which makes the input file to buy me some more? (Of course I had to check the money first before doing the changes!)

Actually there's no good glitches other than the Joker's Death-glitch where casting white magic and getting the first 7 before the animation finishes, it makes getting 7-7-7 on every battle (including final battle) possible. But we need a strategy list of each boss before even thinking of the run. Someone help me?

Let's bump this old thread up. I'm going to make a strategy list on ADVANCE version (some glitches, like vanish-doom is fixed, but Joker Doom + white magic is nice), is someone still interested? I also updated the first post.

I started it, but I accidentatly overwrote the save states.. should take backups. I had done almost the first level (I found out that sliding is faster than jumping, correct me if I'm wrong?), we'll see if this run will be done any time. But I try to finish it on some time.

I won't do 105% since I haven't done it on even a real console (I have done 102% or 103% (I don't remember exactly) completion on PS1 real console), but I'll start with this any%/low% TAS. But I can't do this for a week from now on, not home before March 11, when I have some free days to progress. Hopefully I'll do some progression.

It'd probably be the shortest time for platinum (shown in the game). But this isn't my problem since I don't have to get relics on any%/low% TAS which are practically the same in Crash games. And forget about that usb thing, I'll just do it with frame advance and keyboard. It'll be just easier.
