Starcraft 64 - There was a lot of talk about speedrunning this for computer, but now you can actually manipulate luck? Imagine perfect micro, perfect macro, perfect everything. A must see, I would believe. Mario 64 - No real explanation needed. The author could also do an array of glitches with this game to make it faster (16 star run?). Goldeneye 64 - A lot of planning I presume. It would be cool to see someone with perfect aim and ect though. Quest 64 - A really short game, and one of the first RPGs on the 64 I believe. Not really a good game, but I think it would be decent for a time attack. Zelda (OoT and MM) - Although these would be VERY long speedruns, I think they could turn out very nicely.

I just saw the in-progress run, and I gotta say it looked pretty damn awesome! This was my first time seeing this game in years, and it definitely brings back memories... with the insane difficulty of the game, they're not necessarily good ones, to be honest, but it's still great to see this game again. I'd completely forgotten how impressive it looks and sounds, so even if the gameplay is horribly frustrating, it makes for great watching. Again, I love the run so far, and it'd be a shame if it wasn't finished.

Hello folks. I have downloaded this time attack movie on Friday The 13th. However, it seems that I am unable to play this movie. I have tried the other movies and they work properly, so I wonder if there's anything wrong with the encoding of this movie. Thanks in advance.
Try This: http://www.free-codecs.com/FFDShow_download.htm And if that does not work, always keep this site: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/ffdshow.cfm Uninstall any codec-pack you had earlier and install only this ffdshow.exe to your computer.
There shouldn't be any problem with my codecs. This is because I have tried Version 2 of this movie and it works. Dunno why it doesn't work for Version 3 of this movie.

Sorry if people didn't understand... I ment combining a movie file with a rom, to produce a new rom that plays it's self. This new rom could then be put on to a blank cartridge, and played in the console.

Hi guys, I thought it might be cool if you watched a speed movie on the actual original console. I think it'd be great if you could somehow "fuse" the movie file, and the rom together - to make a rom that plays it's self. Say I had an amazing video of Tetris on the original gameboy - wouldn't it be great if when I reset the console, the game would play normally - but if I reset the console while holding down a button, the speed movie would play? I think it'd be great to see the videos being played on the original console. Has anyone done this before? Thanks! -James

I noticed that the infamous "Reverse Mushroom" trick in Super Mario Bros. was not included in the SMB Tricks page...

Desynched @ the first shredder battle, but from what I've watched, you were playing great. I'll try to get it to work once again, but just so you know, yes vote from me.

Man, I just wached this video... Defeating Marble Garden Act 1 when only halfway through had me laughing out loud. I couldn't believe that it could be done there, or that the game would continue into Act 2 properly. But I was a bit disappointed when you didn't get all 50 rings in the snowboard sequence. It's so difficult to do in real-time, that I figured that of course it'd be in there. But, if it was slower, then I suppose I can let it slide. And Sonic's dance moves can't be beat.

Ah ok I see. That's still crazy though. I didn't even know there was a glitch in Link to the Past like that, I'll have to try it... Though I probably won't be able to do it haha

Hey I'm new to this site, but I'm curious, are these time attack runs possible on the actual snes or just on an emulator?

By the way, do we have to use a real NES for speed runs? I use the RockNES emulator.

I'm new to these forums, so I ought to introduce myself first: I'm 19, I'm a student/software developer, and I'm hopelessly addicted to Ninja Gaiden 1 for NES. I mean I've been playing this game for hours each day for weeks on end. The only thing I have yet to be able to do is beat this game without dying - twice I died at the end of 6-3, and just now I missed a jump in 6-2. The good news is that my run is a full minute faster than sdkess' incredible [almost] no-hit run, and my pattern for the 2nd final boss is a LOT faster than his, so I should be able to make a much faster run! Of course, I am in no way trying to make a no-hit run - I have a strange habit of purposely taking hits to save time. Well, wish me luck! I keep getting so close to the end of the game before coming up short. All I need is one solid run and I will beat the current record!
