No, unfortunately it won't obselete any runs but I figure it is good enough, entertaining enough to be published. I think we should just let the people decide and we'll see what happens.

Well, the trick to falling quicker is you have to walk off the edge on the correct pixel/frame with Grant and let go of any direction, you cannot simply walk off like normal.

I liked it, good run with a great improvement. Now I know why you call it Shatterlag or least why I think you do. Consider this a Yes Vote.

I didn't want them to just stand there, waiting; I wanted to keep them looking busy. The twitching, to me, is them trying to make their minds up or at least them looking/feeling confused (wtf, them feeling confused?). It really shouldn't be a problem unless your face is right up to the monitor, no offense intended.

You could compare the levels on the Sypha Path (the levels up to the boss), the boss battles aren't very comparable when the odds are against you (motioning that Sypha has the upperhand with her dominating magic), and the first level is definately comparable and I believe I am ahead because of better luck manipulation even though it seemed unlikely that I could do that level faster since it looked as if it were optimized to death.

Sorry but you can't post here, it is against the rules. But who's stopping you from a Private Message. Don't mail it to me, that's what I am trying to say since I know of a location as well.

"This" will be my last WIP before I submit this run. I think this level came out real well and I am satisfied with it. That's all I have to say.

Just finished watching it and I can say it came out incredible. No desyncs as expected and it ran real well. Yes vote of course.

Once again I have completed Another Level. I think I need more feedback to see how I am doing, especially on the boss fights. On the boss fights I did take a look at the Famtasia runs (the more helpful one was the Alucard run since Trevor is used to fight the bosses, not sypha) and mine is 2 seconds slower because I have to walk under that big red demon twice, I think, limiting my attacks. If I didn't he would land on the platform from above and it would severely limit my attacks. So with that in mind it doesn't look bad at all.

It looks pretty good so far. Is it possible to get the items in level one and two, the ones that look like capsules, while you are waiting for the screen to progress (while no enemies are around of course)? Also you seem to stop moving when you are waiting not that it is a bad thing but I believe it would be a little more entertaining if you kept moving doing a bunch of weird things (like running and jumping or hurting your partner). And also in the part of level two where you are in those floating carts (I don't know what they are called) I think I see some lag when you strike the enemy from behind (with one of the battletoads), wouldn't it be faster to kill the enemy in front of you in one hit like you do with one of the Double Dragon brothers (not sure which brother you used)? Also I realize that doing a two-player run is very difficult but you seem to know what you are doing. These are just a couple of things I took note to but other than that it looks very promising and keep up the good work, you're doing fine.

Another Level Done I may have not promised this but here it is. There was quite a few places that Grant really pays off. It may look like I could have gone faster on the stream that makes you walk faster, right after the one that makes you go slow, but I timed it right and the path I chose is fastest and looks much more consistent and cool. I think this level came out real well with all the little shortcuts and the luck manipulation involved. Hope you enjoy this very short level (if I keep this up I'll be done before the month is over and who knows if this would be the fastest completed 30 minute TAS).

I believe that there are 3 soldiers and a captain making it 4 enemies total (you're thinking of when Fabul is attacked which has the battle with 2 soldiers and a captain). Doesn't dark wave kill the 3 soldiers? If not then before you go anywhere in Kaipo village wait some frames or wait in the battle sequence until you get the desired results. Also what you press before and during the battle changes the outcome. But I really don't know the games' way of luck manipulation.

Just watched it and those 9.5 minutes just flew by as I sat in aw. Great work. Voted Yes.

I might consider making another run in which as soon as I get Grant I change to him and only use him for the remainder of the game just to see if I gain or lose time on the whole run but would it be as entertaining, that is the question. Anyway, I have done another level (sorry it isn't two levels like the first WIPs): CVIII WIP3 In this level I tried to be as entertaining as possible while still being as quick as possible. I also (accidentally) found a way to jump through the spikes, that serve as a floor on one side and try to kill you on the other, which is good for time. But in some areas there was not much else I could do, mostly the stairs-places that hold anyone but Alucard back, and I definately took more time to optimize them just for good measure. I don't know if I'll post another WIP this morning, since I haven't even begun the next level, but I am sure I'll do another later in the day (since I sleep in until about 5:00 PM). Sorry there isn't a Savestate, I don't really know the best place to host files but I know of some that have too many pop-ups (megaupload for one and its waiting sucks to be quite honest); hope you can bare with it.

It's looking very much so optimized. Great job so far. I don't need to say anything more, you know what you are doing.

I feel it was necessary to change to Trevor for the bosses since Grant takes too long to get off his initial attack and using axes is not as fun as decimating the boss before they even know what happened. I think there is room for microscopic improvements but unfortunately I really am unwilling to go back and do anything of the sort. After all I think fighting the bosses with Trevor is much more appealing than watching Grant chuck anything and everything he has and having almost nothing to show for it and in the end I think it pretty much evens out in time.

Alright, I have done another two set of levels: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1450/Akumajou_Densetsu_%28J%29%20WIP2.fcm You'll probably "think" you see a couple of errors but there is a reason for some of those moments when it looked like I could of did it faster (mostly for luck manipulation of certain enemies' position, hell maybe you won't notice).I really can't think of what else to say besides let me know what you think.

I absolutely believe it is not possible since in this Castlevania you cannot simply go through floors like in the first Castlevania. I believe it takes changing to the other character and some other techniques. Also besides going through the floor, it is not possible to land up that high when jumping at your peak while getting hit.

Yeah, I've tried that but it won't let you go through the floor all the way.

ok so my favourite game that i can play on an emulator would be the pokemon games... mainly pokemon r/b
Sure, but make sure you know the games very well (like the gaming mechanics and how certain actions result in certain outcomes). Usually RPGs (I'm relatively certain Poke'mon are RPGs since I do not care much for them) take more planning then say a platformer. Do some test runs and take a look at the current published runs of the other Poke'mon games to get an idea of what you may be in for. What the others have said may be right, Poke'mon games aren't for beginners.

(Seems someone has already beat me here, but what the hell) Take a look at the thread that lists all the famtasia runs and find something you may want to do, or find a game that has not been done yet (its up to you really), or try to obselete a current run here. Like some people have said, try a game you are familiar with and see what you can come up with but bare in mind that it may not get accepted if it is slower than a current published run or if it is extremely uninteresting.

Right now I am considering running this game, Akumajou Densetsu (once known as Castlevania 3). By considering, I have already started it but I am not actually sure I will complete it unless someone absolutely wants it. Here's a WIP in which I complete the first 2 levels as a whole (I get Grant and reach the bottom of the Clock Tower) and I believe the first level is at least one second faster than any of the published CV3 runs (but I cannot really tell how much faster mine is): http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1443/Akumajou_Densetsu_%28J%29.fcm In this run I abuse a sort of trick in which if you get to the right pixel/frame of a surface near the edge and drop off you go much quicker but it always acts as if you fall from a great distance so I only use it at greater distances rather than all the time. The speed of it is much like the speed Simon falls at in Castlevania. Well any comments and criticism is much welcomed.

I think that 2P run would be cool but I am unfamiliar with the suicide glitch which sounds kind of unentertaining since it sounds like you will only be controlling 1P for the most part. Also hard mode really isn't needed since it can drag on fights longer than needed, sure you have a 2nd player to help but I don't think it is actually harder but just longer.

You should just put a "http://" in front of "tasvideos.org/" and you shouldn't get any problems (in Mozilla Firefox for the startup page).
